Jillian Michaels Body Revolution!

This thread will be dedicated to those doing Jillian Michaels Body Revolution 90-day program.

The official start date is Monday, February 27th for the majority of the group, but anyone can join in that's using the program.

novangel 02-26-2012 12:31 PM

I'm still working on 30DS, after that I will get either Ripped in 30 or Body Revolution. I will follow this thread to see how it goes.

Good luck!!

GatorDeb 02-27-2012 01:19 AM

Day 1 tomorrow!! Got me a set of 5, 8, and 10 pounders to begin. I have one of those adjustable weight sets but I find them too cumbersome and never used them much. Psyched to start, I'll take some before pictures and measurements tomorrow!!

melodymist 02-27-2012 01:42 AM

Looking forward! Can't wait to get mine :)

PhillyGirl2012 02-27-2012 06:32 AM

My am workout is done! I have to figure out my heart rate monitor cause its been over a year since I've used it. I have some weaknesses to work on. I thought my right leg was stronger than my left but the balance work proved me wrong. Planks and push ups were modified so I have to work on building on those too as well as abs. I hate working abs.

It's 6:30am now and I'm done!

Mahora 02-27-2012 08:00 AM

I'm in! Starting tonight! How exciting!

jmfan317 02-27-2012 09:13 AM

I'm startin 2day did my measurements and startin weight ysterday. Guna do my wrkout #1 when I get back frm the dentist and I'm guna try to do cardio 1 as well

PhillyGirl2012 02-27-2012 09:57 AM

What do you think?

Is there some science to splitting the workouts or did she do it because she thought people would commit better having the workouts broken up?

jmfan317 02-27-2012 01:52 PM

I completed wrkout 1 and cardio 1 2day as a extra wrkout. I made it thru both nonstop. I will say the running man for me in cardio 1 was a killer. The suicides weren't that bad but I use to do them in the past in high school so I'm use to it. 2mrw I'm onto wrkout 2 and I mite throw in cardio 1 again as a extra wrkout but we'll see. Keep up the gr9 wrk everybody

Mahora 02-27-2012 09:05 PM

Did the first DVD. Easier than I taught, but I know it won't be easy all the way. I think of it as a warm up for what's to come! Dvd 2 tomorrow... can't wait.

GatorDeb 02-28-2012 12:10 AM

Day one done. Did measurements and tons of pictures from every angle before.

I LOVED IT!!! Chalene just doesn't motivate me. I usually hate working out at home. This is the first time I do a Jillian workout and it was awesome (the Wii game, not so much, but totally different with the DVD experience). This was actually fun and I'm looking forward to tomorrow.

I train for triathlons so my triathlon training today was a 36 minute swim. Also did an hour of Zumba at the gym. My week's going to end up with about 3 hours of Jillian, 6 hours of TurboKick/Zumba at the gym, one hour cross-train class, 1:25 swim, 5:05 bike, and 0:50 run. Started my Triathlon training at the beginning of the year so still going low-volume, and it will slowly overtake the TurboKicks and Zumba.

Can't wait to take 30-day pictures!! I love it that it's only 30 minutes a day because it's very easy to fit. I just wasn't expecting it to be this much fun.

The 5/8/10 weight combination I got was perfect. Also how brilliant is to have a band that's adjustable? That band's awesome and if she sells others like that with more resistance I'll be getting them.

I'm a Jillian convert!! I actually pointed to the screen and said out loud "Love you Jillian" at the end lol

Had to modify some things. Just plan to show up every day for 30 hours minus rest day and take 0/30/60/90 day pics and see what happens. If you all don't mind belly shots I'll post them here lol But it's not pretty!! ;)

Forgot to add, not following her eating plan. I want to reach goal by 7/3/12, third year anniversary of losing weight, so I need ~500-1000 calorie deficit per day. I'm following a 1200 calorie per day regime, eating whatever I want to keep me satisfied at those calories, until I reach goal, which will be in about 14 weeks if I keep at 1K deficit per day. Not forever, just for a few more weeks!!

jmfan317 02-28-2012 01:07 PM

Completed wrkout 2 2day. It was a gud wrkout and ez. 2mrw is cardio 1. My body is sore from ystrday. Ate 1200 cals ystrday all healthy I'm doin my own meal plan with healthy foods and sum organic foods. I just wanted to see if I had lost ne weight and even though it doesn't count until Sun morn I lose 2.2 lbs after 1 day. Can't wait to see my results after wk 1 is done

PhillyGirl2012 02-28-2012 07:11 PM

Workout 2 is done! I'm actually looking forward to a cardio only day...lol. My soreness got better as the day went along, but I know I'll be sore tomorrow.

GatorDeb 02-28-2012 07:22 PM

Day 2 was even better. Love my first Jillian DVD experience, can't wait for 0/30 pics to see if I can notice a difference!!

jenliz1185 02-29-2012 09:59 AM

Considering JM Body Rev

I am considering getting this workout but can't seem to find out how the plan is laid out. Is it a 7 days a week workout plan, 5 days a week? If someone who is doing the workout could let me know I would really appreciate it!! Thanks!!

GatorDeb 02-29-2012 10:06 AM

Half an hour six days a week. But it feels like five minutes, it's that much fun :( Now day 2 was 36 minutes with the cooldown and warmup and such so it's around 30 minutes each. Strength strength cardio strength strength cardio.

jmfan317 02-29-2012 02:08 PM

Day 3 done I completed cardio 1. 2mrw is wrkout 1. Soon wk 1 will be done

Mahora 02-29-2012 03:30 PM

Will complete the cardio tonight... Can't wait to get my butt kick! I was wondering... will you gals weight in every week, after each phase or at the end only? I wanted to wait at the end but don't think I can wait!

jmfan317 02-29-2012 04:01 PM

Me I'm guna weigh in every Sun morn since its the rest day and all 6 wrkouts are done that wk.

PhillyGirl2012 02-29-2012 06:08 PM

Wow, just did cardio 1! Mimi had me laughing and mimicking her moves during the last circuit run. I almost wasn't gonna do it and do a cardio in its place but I got it done! I don't think my downstairs neighbors appreciated the suicides though.

Weigh in? I wasn't going to, but I think I will on sunday. I've not been following her food plan, nor logging my food. I have changed a lot of my eating habits though so we will see where I am. I don't expect a change yet though.

See ya tomorrow!

Mahora 03-01-2012 02:34 PM

Ok.. think i'll weigh in after each phase... Cardio 1 is the best cardio I ever had with Jillian, it's so much fun. Felt like 5 minutes to me!

Muffin 03-01-2012 04:37 PM

I see everyone is doing great! I'm almost done with week 2 and just loving it. So far I been able to do all the moves, but the planks :( I need to work more on this to get stronger.

I'm planning on do my weigh in on Sundays.
How are you doing with your diets? and drinking water?

PhillyGirl2012 03-01-2012 05:42 PM

Workout 1 is done! I think I can increase the weight the next go around. I finally figured out my heart rate monitor and it says I burned 477 calories.

Muffin, my diet is ok. I'm eating mainly whole foods. I do have my snacks that are made with wholesome stuff. My fav brand is Back to Nature. I found them via the Dr Oz show. I need to work on eating more vegetables. Water is also a challenge, but I'm getting better with it.

ericc 03-01-2012 09:34 PM

My wife and I started this on Monday and are doing the 7 Day Metabolic blast to start with. Following the diet and doing the twice daily workout. Is anybody else doing this?

PhillyGirl2012 03-02-2012 05:56 AM

ericc, we are at different points in the program on this thread.

Group Question,
Did anyone else read this for phase 1 "The goal of Phase 1 is to remove your initial 20-30 pounds and prepare you for the intensity of Phase 2." Sooo, for those of us with weight to lose...thoughts?

jenliz1185 03-02-2012 09:14 AM

Did it!

Just placed my order! So excited!

jmfan317 03-02-2012 11:39 AM

PhillyGirl I totally missed that missed that I gotta read that all I have it a total of 30 pounds to lose then if I did lose that all I wud be doin is toned up. As well as buildin muscle. My diet is goin gr8 I've been eatin 1200 cals a day with my own meal plan and journal down everythin in her 90 day journal. Just did day 5 wrkout 2 2mrw is the last day of cardio 1 this wk til nxt wk when I start wk 2

Muffin 03-03-2012 09:00 AM

PhillyGirl, I did read that :) However, I don't think this apply to someone that has been eating healthy and exercising regularly. Usually when you first start a exercise plan and a diet you lose a lot of weight, but pretty much it's just water retention.

In my case I been clean eating and exercising for almost a year now, so my body is adjust to this routine. The first week I did follow her kickstart menu but only did the AM exercises, however I rode the bike pretty much everyday for added cardio and instead of losing I gain 4lbs :( ???

This week I went back to my normal clean eating diet with calories ranging between 1200-1300 daily and so far I have lost 8lbs. I been doing her rotation and adding 1 hour of biking daily.

Mahora 03-03-2012 09:06 AM

I have a question regarding the calories intake. I use MyFitnessPal to keep track of my calories and try to stay on a 1200 calories daily. When you say you are eating 1200 calories daily does that included your exercise? On MyFitnessPal when I train it adds on calories I can eat. For example, I start my day with 1200 if I burn 300 calories, my journal says I can eat 1500. My questions is do you eat only 1200 calories no matter how much you exercise? Thanks for the help!

jmfan317 03-03-2012 01:22 PM

Completed wk 1 as of 2day. Happy to have a rest day 2mrw. 2mrw is weigh in I'm hopin I lost sum weight. I won't be checkin my measurements til the whole program is done.

The plan is very easy. It's a 6 days a week plan. You have 3 phases of 4 weeks each. Here is an example of the first week:
Monday: Workout1
Tuesday: Workout2
Wednesday:Cardio1
Thursday: Workout1
Friday: Workout2
Saturday: Cardio 1
Sunday: Rest

All the workouts are 30 minutes and very enjoyable. You also have a meal plan with the program but I don't follow it.

Hope this can be helpfull! :)

jmfan317 03-04-2012 11:06 AM

I don't follow the meal plan either unless it may be a snax listed but that about it. So I weighed in this morn since yesterday I completed wk 1 and 2day is my rest day. I'm down 4.6 lbs just from wk 1. Can't wait to see wat wk 2 brings me.

Muffin 03-04-2012 12:56 PM

Mahora, I just make sure I eat about 1200 no matter how much I exercise. I might go a bit higher one or two days, but do not exceed 1400 calories.

jmfan317- congrats girl, good luck next week!

I weight in this morning and I'm down a total of 8lbs now I'm moving to week 3.

I don't think exercise is a factor because we burn different calories. Your journal says you can eat 1500 because its subtracting the 300 calories from exercise leaving you with 1200. I would not eat only 1200 no matter the exercise. Even 1200 is too low. If you exercised like I did on friday and burned 600 calories, that leaves only 600 for my body to use throughout the day if sticking to 1200 a day calorie allotment.

jmfan317 03-05-2012 01:00 PM

Finished day 1 of wk 2. 5 more days to go. Hope to see sum gud results this wk on Sun like I did last wk.

Thanks for pointing this out PhillyGirl :)

scifygirl 03-06-2012 01:20 PM

So this is my first post. I started Jillian's plan yesterday. Workout 1 was a beast. My shoulders are sore, but it feels good to work out. I can't wait to start losing weight and getting healthy.

quickfamilee 03-06-2012 05:56 PM

Started Body Revolution Yesterday

Started Jillian's body revolution yesterday and I am feeling pretty good. The diet is hard for me being I'm very picky and don't like much of the food choices, but I'm doing it :) Anyhow know whether or not you can drink anything besides water?

PhillyGirl2012 03-06-2012 06:54 PM

I missed yesterday's workout. I'm guessing because of recovery time that I can't make up the workout I missed which was workout 1. Tonight I did workout 2 for a calorie burn of 529 calories. I used 8lbs for all moves. Last time I dropped the weight doing the step ups in the last circuit. This time I held them. Cardio day tomorrow!
