Shivering after my workouts?
To all the exercise gurus out there, I have a question.
When I finish working out, especially in warm temperatures, I get REALLY cold and get goosebumps and shivers within minutes. Even in 90 degree weather. I read somewhere that it could be dehydration, but I am drinking a ton of water (like a gallon a day), so that doesn't seem logical. Does anyone else have this happen and/or should I be concerned? I know it can't be too uncommon. I'm not really worried about it unless it's not supposed to happen, but I am curious, because I never experienced it when i was 30 pounds heavier. I'm still about 23% body fat according to my nutritionist's measure-y thing, so I wouldn't have really expected it to have something to do with my weight. |
I'm curious to know what people have to say about this too, cause it happens to me too..it's weird.

It could just be exhaustion, simple as that.

it happens to me ALL THE TIME. in fact, i cannot STAND working out in Air conditioned gyms...... i think it has to do with sweating...... you sweat so much (or at least I do) that you become WET, and therefore cold, especially once you stop moving but are still wet from your sweat.

Ah, that makes sense! Thanks! Good to know I'm not going to explode or something. :P

It happens to me too, infact more in warm environments than cool... my trainer told me it's when your body overcompensates with the cooling mechanisms- I usually solve it with a lovely hot shower:)

happens to me too! I feel it if I run in hot weather, or if I push myself too hard. The hairs on my head stand up, I get goosebumps and I feel cold. Hot shower and some Peritone solves it!

this happens to me too! I usually work out during my lunch and when I go back to work I freeeeeze. Or this last week it's been 90 - 100 degrees and when I got done working out I caught myself sitting on my couch (we don't have air condition in our living room) with a blanket across me!
