I did W6D3 on Wednesday - 25 mins! My reward for finishing that one was going to be new running shoes, but I'm gonna have to wait on that...just had to drop $400 on a new pair of tires when I blew a flat while I was 3 hours away from home in the middle of Kansas City. EM. EFFER.
Can't wait for W7D1 tomorrow! :) |
Ok...so I tried W7D1 and crashed and burned. I think it's for two reasons: I was out of town and missed my Thurs/Fri/Sat workout AND I consumed mostly alcohol and junk food on those days.
Going to take another crack at it again tomorrow. This time early in the AM too, so it's a little cooler. :) It's just another 25 minute run, so I *know* I can do it! |
I am starting C25k tomorrow with my hubby! Excited and nervous!
|
I just got back from my trip. It was a fun trip but I missed my running. I will start running again tomorrow. It is inspiring to hear that everyone is doing so well
|
Missed my Thursday night workout because my husband had an end-of-season softball party that night. Didn't get to the gym till last night. Did W4D2 with no issues. I was happy with how it went, especially since I hadn't worked out since Tuesday night.
I was looking ahead to W5 and it kind of scares me. Up until this point it has been the same work-out for all 3 days of each weekly session and W5 goes from running in 5 min. segments on D1 to running 20 minutes straight on D3? That seems like a huge jump. |

W1D1 complete. Not too bad....
|
my mp3 player broke so I couldn't do the program.
Instead, I walked half the lake (~450m), run 1 round (~900m), then walk 450m, then run another 900m, and then later walk 450m. It was a great workout, but I think I upped my pace a little too fast, so by the end of 2nd run, I felt like I couldn't get enough air. That might also due to the humid air and very strong wind today as well. Tomorrow I'll try for W5D1 since what I did today was pretty much the same with it, minus the last running interval. I'll run slower tmr hopefully I can complete it :D And besides, the lake is quite similar distance with what I have to run in W5D1, so I don't have to use my mp3 player. I'll have to get my mp3 fix soon :D |
Tried W7D1 again and it was horrible. I ran the first 10 minutes, then stopped and walk and got *super* light headed. I was afraid I was going to pass out, so I laid down on in a shady spot in the grass. The mail lady even stopped to make sure I was alright! LOL!
I'm a little freaked out because I've never had problems like this before last month, when I passed out in a bar in South Dakota after hiking a mountain. (I only had one beer too!) The EMT's who came and checked me out said it was dehydration, so I've been really having to monitor my water intake. Hopefully that's all it was. I'm going to try it again - this time either after the sun is down or before 8:00 AM. :/ |
Did a repeat of W3 today, because I've been on vacation for a week and haven't run in nearly 2 weeks. It went well - I'm going to do W4D1 either tomorrow or Thursday!
|
I did w5d1 today but didn't complete it. I couldn't run the whole last interval, only manage to run half (450m), and then walk 450m, therefore I decided to run another 450m and walk to cool down the rest 450m.
The air was too heavy today and the wind was quite strong. But my breathing wasn't as bad as yesterday. And on the bright side, I managed to run 2 mini intervals so I'm still very happy. As long as I am still running :D Tomorrow either will be rest day or I'll run like today (cuz I didn't want to push myself too hard). :D We'll see. |
@kariatari - hope your next run goes better. I would guess the heat and humidity that has been hitting the midwest so hard would be causing the tough run. I can't ever remember a summer like this.
Did W5D1 last night. It went better than expected. I only struggled through the last 2 minutes of the final 5 minute run, and still managed to keep pace and push through. Not sure what W5D2 will be like. 8 minute runs scare me... |
SusanMay, everytime it gets tough, I just remind myself that it's not supposed to be easy! I think you'll find that the 8 minute intervals really aren't that bad. (That's what happened to me anyway.)
I know what you mean about this summer - it's crazy! I went to float in the lake with one of my friends and it was absolute bath water! Not refreshing at all! According to our weather man, we've had 12 days straight with 90+ readings and have a good shot of breaking the 25 day record. Good lord! XC skiing season is looking good about now! :) |
W4D1 done!!!
Wow, that was tough. Probably the most difficult increase between weeks (yet). But I did it all! What a sense of accomplishment! :) |
Finished w3d1 on Monday, and it was HARD! I'm not sure if it's because it was brutally hot out, because I'd lifted weights earlier in the day, or if I'm just in crappier shape than I thought, but the 3-minute intervals were really tough for me. Gonna go out and do day two tonight - hopefully it's better. If not, I may find myself repeating week 3 instead of moving on next week.
