  • Oooh, Muffin! I like your music too!
  • Thanks. My MP3 player is a little ecclectic but is mostly various types of metal. It can be offputting to many, especially women. It's a pretty male dominated music style.

While these songs may not be as fast as something poppy and upbeat, it gets me going and gives me a rush because it takes me back to concerts, and the feeling of being smack in the middle of a mosh pit. I always could hold my own in them, fat or not.
  • I have a fair mix of many genres, but it's pretty toploaded with metal/classic rock/psychadelic rock, industrial and others. I love my electronic music, but I was raised with metal and rock.
  • OOOOH I am so glad this thread was posted! I am always on the lookout for something new to get me moving! My list is changing as new music comes out.

Here's some of mine and hopefully I will not overlap some that have already been mentioned.

    Manian: Welcome To The Club
kittyCat Dolls: When I Grow Up; Wait A Minute
Enrique Iglesias feat. Pitbull: I Like It
    Metro Station: Shake It
Marky Mark & The Funky Bunch: Good Vibrations

  • Quote: I Need a Doctor by Dr. Dre and Eminem!
Omg! I'm obsessed with this song!

I, too, listen to music when I am working out that I would never listen to otherwise. I am a sucker for pink, kesha, and lady gaga.

    Love this thread!
  • I just added these two to my workout playlist:

    Adele: Rolling in the Deep
    Phoenix: 1901

I keep looking for more new (or new to me!) music, so I hope others will keep posting suggestions!
  • Lemme add a bit of geek to the mix... here's what's new to my playlist...

Abney Park - Building Steam, Airship Pirate, Throw Them Overboard
    Dresden Dolls - Guitar Hero
    E Nomine - Mitternacht
Fall Out Boy - What's This?
John Farnham - You're the Voice
    Kyle Andrews - Sushi
Ludo - Save Our City, Trampolines, Lake Pontchartrain
    Muse - Uprising
My Chemical Romance - Na Na Na, Planetary (Go!)
    Paramore - CrushCrushCrush
Rascal Flats - Life is a Highway
Simon and Milo - Strange Disease
    Snow Patrol - Run
The Dandy Warhols - I Am a Scientist
The Potbelleez - Don't Hold Back
The Starlight Mints - Eyes of the Night
  • I listen to a lot of different stuff but go-to get pumped songs are...

Insane in the Brain - Cypress Hill
Jump around - House of Pain
    Teenage Electric - Circle Jerks
Girls - Beastie Boys (also my 4yo's favorite song...)
Viva Las Vegas - Dead Kennedys
    Get Low - Lil Jon
Back That *** Up - Juvenile
  • I have a HUGE workout playlist, but I have to say that some of my absolute favourites are:

St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion) -- John Parr
Eye of the Tiger -- Survivor
It's Raining Men -- The Weather Girls (or the Geri Halliwell version, if you prefer)
    Numb/Encore -- Jay-Z vs. Linkin Park
Yeah! -- Usher, Lil Jon and Ludacris
You Can Do It -- Ice Cube

I've gotten to the point where I can't get a good rhythm going without my iPod. (Like someone else here has said, there's a lot of "**** you" breakup type songs on my playlist, but that's mostly because I like to imagine how my ex's face would look if he saw me after I reach my goal.)
  • My playlist changes almost every week! I have to keep it updated or else I get really bored. Here are some of my current faves:

    Hey Baby--Pitbull feat. T-Pain
    Knockout--Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj
    No Hands--Roscoe Dash, etc.
    You Lie--The Band Perry
(Don't Fear) The Reaper--Blue Oyster Cult
    Hella Good--No Doubt
    Be Good To Yourself--Journey
    Bad Girlfriend--Theory of a Deadman
    Feel Good Inc.--The Gorillaz
    Firework--Katy Perry
    So What--Pink!
  • Looks like I need to update my playlist! It's mostly Black Eyed Peas because their music is fast and makes me move.

    Mine is:
Imma Be - Black Eyed Peas
Boom Boom Pow - Black Eyed Peas
I Gotta Feeling - Black Eyed Peas
My Humps - Black Eyed Peas
Pump It - Black Eyed Peas
Rock That Body - Black Eyed Peas
    Magic - B.o.B
Gonna Get This - Hannah Montana and Iyaz
In My Head - Jason Derulo
DJ Got Us Falling In Love - Usher
    Dynamite - Taio Cruz
Bind, Torture, Kill - Suicide Commando
    Stronger - Kanye West
    Carry Out - Timbaland
Sentence Me - Soil & Eclipse
    OMG - Usher
    Let's Work - Trick Trick
Tear You Apart- She Wants Revenge
I Can Transform Ya - Chris Brown
    Dirtygrrls/Dirtybois - Faderhead
    Diabolical - Mindless Self Indulgence

Imma Be makes me want to run, and Diabolical is the best way to end a great workout.

  • Some club remixes by Mariah Carey are amazing for cardio work outs. They're each like 10 minutes and very upbeat. Give them a listen on YouTube. Trust me they're amazing to work out to!!

    Fantasy (Def Club Mix)
    Honey (Classic Mix)
    Say Somethin' (Morales Stereo Experience)
Heartbreaker/If You Should Ever Be Lonely (Junior Club Mix)
Always Be My Baby (Def Club Mix)

She has like 6 more too. They all have new vocals that go with the beat too. Very good stuff!
  • My Body by LSG
    Toxic Brittney Spears
    That Girl-Marques Houston
    Whatever you want-Tony Toni Tone
  • I like to listen to slow music while I am working out because it relaxes me does anyone else do this? My favorite is 90s RnB
