Question Pushing myself too far?

so today i was doing chalean extreme, this is my 3rd week.
i was doing burn it off & recharge.

i was doing the cardio part of the dvd and it makes you do a series of exercises then a short 1 minute break.

today i felt like i was ready to have a panic attack, im not obese or extremely unfit, but it seems like everytime i exercise i can barely breath. it feels like my throat closes, idk why!!

my friend told me she feels the same way when she does the exercises with me. after she told me, i take it that its normal? but how do you make it stop other then trying to calm yourself??

well i smoke and i don't have that problem so you are probably not breathing right. are you breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth or are you just attempting to inhale through your mouth? are you timing your breath to your movements using the oxygen to power your moves or are you just doing the moves as quickly as possible and forgetting to breath? do you have difficulty breathing at other times or do just when your exercising?

well im not a smoker or anything, and most of the time im breathing out my mouth so i can keep my heart rate up, and sometimes i dont breathe at all, i know i dont when i do ab workouts. but when im doing cardio, normally im panting and gasping for air bc its so intense! lol

i have no idea why its like that, as soon as i start to workout it feels harder to breath through my mouth

well you just answered your question. 1. you are not breathing through in through your nose. 2. you are forgetting to breath half the time and 3. you are not breathing in time with your movements.

try focusing more on your breath and keeping it slow and controlled. you can sing while you exercise if that helps you remember to breath. if you forget to breath you could pass out or injure yourself so you need to learn to breath properly. if you don't have the stamina to keep up with the video and breath then you probably are not ready for it but i suspect just focusing on your breathing will make all the difference for you.
