Default Would this be way too much?

Ok, so I'm going from excersizing (like, exercise exercise) little to none to trying this schedule. I am also going to be planning my food as well with enough calories, protein, vitamins, etc... But I LOVE to excercise! I always forget that when I don't do it. Anyways, would working out 6 days a week (break once a week) with varied running (training for a 5k), weights, and zumba once a week for around an hour each time be way too much? I'm wanting to run several 5k runs, and I want to push myself, but nor do I want to kill myself.

I am on my feet (sorta) for five hours of the day 4-5 days a week with my job also...better than my last job though... 6-8 hours, no break, on my feet the entire time. Like I said... Thoughts? Oh, I'm also a vegetarian... So yeah. Some people think that's an important factor to mention.

I AM going to see a nutritionist, I'm just looking for some basic advice in the meantime.

So yeah, thoughts?

Obviously this isn't medical advice, but just on the psychological side of it, I know that when I put a bunch of commitments on myself all at once, it's much easier to become disillusioned if you fall off the wagon. It probably just depends on what kind of person you are, though. If you get it done best by just going for it, then go for it

I thought the muscles needed a little more time to heal, though, on the subject of working out that much per week. I thought 4x was the standard.

Well, to "hopefully" avoid the commitment burnout I'm going to try mixing things up, I don't have to do it every day at a high effort, but mixing that up too... I dunno. maybe I'll just have to see how this week goes. Thanks.

I have some time off from work and decided to use this time to get back into working out regularly. I went from no working out to working out 6x's + per week - sometimes 2 times per day and have been fine with it.

I'm just careful to listen to my body and if it says time for a rest I do! I work out with a trainer/weights 3 times per week and try to Zumba at least 5 times per week.

So - I say go for it - but remember to honor your body - if you need to take a break do - but be sure to plan a quick return!

I'm vegetarian, I do Spinning on Monday, Zumba on Tuesday, Spinning on Wednesday, Spinning and Zumba on Thursday, Running/Boxing on Friday, walking/jogging at the weekend. I feel great. In fact I've just signed up for body conditioning and circuit training to vary it up a bit.. I see nothing wrong with your plan, good luck with it. Make sure to eat lots of protein.

Thanks guys! I'm looking forward to it... Running yesterday (well... interval running, with some incline walking and fast walking to mix it up) was tough... but I got through it and felt better afterwards... so yeah. Looking forward to today.
