After only two weeks, my hubby and I both noticed that i have a 'little' lift at the base of my hiney that wasn't there. I even did comparison pics to make sure I wasn't tripping!! Woohoo!

I still have a LONG WAY to go, but its so great to feel the difference in my body and then to start seeing differences. Yaay!

i've also read that walking uphill or stairs lifts the booty.

Unfortunately, I don't have any stairs to walk up (I used to at work, but now I work at a new company and it's all one-level). I wonder if i could find some alternatives. I also don't live near any hills LOL. Maybe as the weather gets nicer I can try some of the trails up here (I've never done that before but I may just try it).

Thanks for the additional tips.

maybe you could make a step, or buy one. i used to use a box with phone books in it, then a stack of puzzle mats with a wii board or the box. or just step on my bed, which isn't extremely high.

using your 'step' you march or dance or running with some great music on.

i had to increase the height to 'feel' the burn more.

if you find this exercise works well for you, it's great it doesn't take up much space, there's a million step exercise videos/dvds out there. you could even get some for free from your library or really cheap from ebay.

oh, and i just remembered. you could use stairs at a stadium, or bleachers, or a park bench, old tire. just whatever you can find. i'm all about using what you've got.

This is great to read!! I had been feeling a bit out of place, as I have fairly significant arthritis in my knees, so there are, for now, some machines at the gym I have to skip, and some exercises that I have to forgo for now. I know that as the weight comes off, and the pressure on my knees lessens, I will be able to do more with them, but for now I have to take it easy.

It's so nice to read here how some exercises can be modified to work with problem areas, like the knees. I will be giving this work out a try in the near future!

dogs - have you had a chance to try any of the exercises?

Everyone else - any additional moves you can think of?

I just wanted to say that the only place on my entire body that I can see a change in is my butt (which is a huge surprise b/c I have so much weight to lose). It is lifting at a very fast pace (compared to what I ever imagined)! Boy, I can't stop checking it out in the mirror. Hubby just looks at me and smiles

LOL.

For others who want to work on this area, I want to encourage you to try out some of these exercises. Keep at it, and you will see a difference.

The dead lift is another good exercise for the butt. In fact, the exercise works the whole lower body and strengthens the back, and abs.

The exercise has to be performed correctly or you can injure yourself. You can use a straight bar with no weights to start.

The exercise is a great for building strength and for core muscles. Here is an instructional video on how to perform the deadlift.
