Jen: You did really awesome!! That is a lot of mileage, even it wasn't "formal". We don't necessarily need "formal" exercise everyday. As long as we get the body movin to the grovin'! :D
So I was researching pedometers, a top one is Omron. They say Omron is quite accurate. What are some features of your sportsline? Around how much did it cost? Thank you!! :carrot:

jendiet 09-01-2011 09:10 AM

oh yeah omron is really good.

Well, it has a heart rate monitor with a target zone that beeps if you check it and you are above or below target zone. Distance travelled. Speed. Calories burned. chronograph. dual timer. Countdown Timer and of course pedometer.

I got it on sale for about $50.00 but I don't think they sell this particular one any more.

tdiprincess 09-01-2011 01:24 PM

Sorry to ask so many questions... but is the heartrate monitoring accurate? Do you find you use this function regularly? I think it'd be nice to have at first since I don't focus much on my heartrate currently, but it may become unused. Guess I'm not sure LOL.
Thanks for the help! If I'm going to spend more than $10 on one I want to make sure I'm going to use it. Is yours bulky? The Omron looked pretty small and you can put it in your pocket. Can you do the same with yours? Seems silly, but there are many days when I don't want it to be visible to people that I carry a pedometer with me, ya know?

I got in a short ride so far today for 3.3 miles. I plan to go back out later on for a little more.

jendiet 09-02-2011 12:18 AM

well, I think it is somewhat bulky. I wear it all day though. I like to see my heart rate to see how hard I am training. I wore mine during nursing school and people would ask about it. I called it my lazy-meter.

jendiet 09-02-2011 02:02 AM

ok completed 6.54 miles and 2 miles were jogging with some HIIT intervals. I also got in a resistance routine too.

so today is 53/1000

tdiprincess 09-02-2011 06:18 PM

Jendiet: Thanks for the info! I appreciate the help. You did an awesome job today! I wish I could jog :( I tried that this summer and my knees just can't handle it at this point in my life. (I sprained both of them at different points in life)
I will be heading out for a long ride shortly, after I finish dinner. I will post mileage later!

tdiprincess 09-02-2011 08:23 PM

Allrighty.. so I got 3.3 the other day that I didn't add to my total, plus I got 15.5 miles in today on the bike. That was a pretty brutal ride, but I accomplished it in an hour and 10 mins which gave me an average speed of 13.2mph. I'm trying to get up to 14mph right now, so that makes me pretty happy to go for that long of a ride and keep it over 13mph! :carrot:

jendiet 09-03-2011 02:48 AM

tdi, awesome goal, and awesome bike ride!!! I can't really jog. I have to do it on a rebounder. But I love that thing. I have floating joints and they can really feel the impact if I do anything with high impact.

I ran 3 miles today. 2 MILES were straight through. and 1 mile was later in the evening...I totalled 9.05 miles of now...but I might have to do a little cleaning before I actually fall asleep we will see.

62.05/1000

Good to see you here JEN!

Still on hold for me since Reba can't go further than the backyard right now...and that is leashed! Next couple of weeks we can get her out for 1/4 of a block but still 60-90 more days before any significant activity.

You ladies keep it going!

be good ~ hugs

tdiprincess 09-05-2011 05:43 PM

Jen: Awesome work!! You're moving along quite nicely!! :carrot:
EZ: Seems like a little progress with Reba. Sounds kinda stinky though!!

I just got back from a bike ride. I went 6.6miles and averaged about 14MPH, which is a significant increase from the other day. We'll see how rides go for the rest of the week. Seems like it was a fluke, but the distance is right and timing LOL..

aww, EZ, I am sorry about your dog. I hope she feels better. My friend's dog got attacked byt he neighborhood dog that gets off his leash--his eyebrow is gashed open.

tdi, you improved your performance. that is awesome.

I jogged today, but it was really hard. I think I have overtrained. My heartrate is 10 beats up from normal, and I didn't enjoy it like normal. I got 1 mile of jogging in though. Tomorrow I hope to jog/clean/ and do a circuit training.

mileage today was low due to my son's birthday status. 2.66 miles. Adding in exercise for 9/4 and 9/5 brings me to:

72.80/1000

EZMONEY 09-07-2011 08:40 AM

Great job ladies!

I am so proud of you!!

Sorry about your dog JEN.....dogs unleashed is usually never a good thing unless you are in an area of large farms and country.

Today is the day Reba can start walking 1/4 of a block until we meet up with the vet at the end of the month. Still no stairs or running/jumping.

Keep going!!!

jendiet 09-08-2011 09:38 AM

well, one birthday down, 2 more to go. lol. I am not craving the cake like crazy though.

Ez, i am glad that reba is making progress.

tdi, how are you?

well, i didn't realize HOW BUSY i was, until I checked my pedometer at the end of the day. 12 miles in cooking and cleaning and baby care ALONE. I'm pretty spent, but I am going to try to do something today.

84.77/1000

jendiet 09-09-2011 12:20 AM

no people? well, i racked up another 11.5. That included interval jogging with strength training today. 96.27/1000

tdiprincess 09-09-2011 07:57 AM

Hi there! Sorry for the miss for a few days there! I'm doing well, thank you Jen! I really need to get a pedometer to really track how much I walk!!
You're doing awesome!! Keep it up!

I did a 6.3mile ride yesterday. I may be going for a longer one today with MIL later on. We'll see though!
