Do you have a playlist like this? What's on it?
  • Ooo, I love yours. I'm going to pirate some of the songs.

I have several - my current favorite has a lot of Tina Turner & Destiny's Child. For some reason Nutbush City Limits & Bootylicious make me want to feel the burn.

  • Here's some of my faves: keep your head- by ting tings (it's my perfect running song), you shook me all night long- AC/DC, secondhand news- fleetwood mac, baba o'riley- the Who. Maybe I need to listen to more music from my generation. . .
  • I like poppy-dance music for cardio. I always have Britney Spears' "Break the Ice" programmed for around the middle of my run. It always gets me going again when I start flagging and makes me push a bit hard. It's my favourite pick me up for cardio. But of course Gaga is also standard and other Britney songs too.
  • I love this thread. I don't have a lot of music knowledge and love to refresh my playlists. Thank you for sharing I will be looking up all of the above songs! Here are my currents:

Oh...and New Found Glory has some punk covers of cinema favorites a la Me First and the Gimme Gimmes
  • 21 Guns is a GREAT song for me to run to. Forgot about that one!

My favorite Gimme Gimmes song is their rendition of "Rainbow Connection". But I adore the entire Broadway album.

I also have the Bad Romance rendition they did on Glee. I used to have the Gaga version, but I think the Glee one has a bit more depth so I replaced it.

Also - Fire Burning - Sean Kingston
  • I have some of the same as above (Katy Perry, Beyonce); I also have some Mary J. Blige (try "Work That" - power to the ladies!) and random fun songs off movie soundtracks like "Shake your pom pom" (Missy Elliot - booty shaking time!).

My new addition to the running playlist is....The Darkness. I'll admit it. I crank me some British glam rock and boy my feet start flying. Try it! Put "I believe in a thing called love" on your playlist and get ready to book. "Crazy Train" is also good for this.
  • I have a few, depending on what musical mood I'm in. I'm all over the board with my tastes, so I never know what's going to motivate me.

I got a new iPod for Xmas, so I was super excited to put together some new playlists. This is what I worked out to this morning (and yes, this is the playlist of a 43-year old woman. Don't judge me! LOL):

Only Girl (In the World) - Rihanna
    Smack That - Akon
Meet Me Halfway - Black Eyed Peas
Naughty Girls Need Love Too - Samantha Fox
    U and Dat - E-40 w/ T. Pain
    I Kissed a Girl - Katy Perry
    Low - Flo Rida
    My Love - Justin Timberlake
    Butterfly - Crazy Town
    Toxic - Britney Spears
Tonight I'm Loving (okay, so I have the dirty version, and it's so not "loving") You - Enrique Iglesias

For cooling down (I usually shuffle through this and pick one or two songs):
    Crazy for You - Adele
    Playground Love - Air
    Golden Slumbers - Ben Folds
Ain't No Sunshine - Bill Withers
Better Be Home Soon - Crowded House
    Delicate - Damien Rice
    Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley
