Thumbs up I'm your private dancer... a dancer for money

I went to my first pole dancing class tonight! I know it sounds super skeezy, but it wasn't at all. It's all completely normal people just wanting a good workout. Granted, we're swinging around, and grinding on a shiny gold stripper pole... but it's seriously not sketchy!

I went to the beginners class, and most of the other girls in the class had only been a few times before. So it wasn't completely awkward that I had no idea what the heck I was doing. The teacher was great. She was really encouraging the whole time.

I bought a pass that allows me to go to six classes, so I'll probably do another one this week.

How crazy is it that I'm going to be a pole dancer?!?

My husband is the luckiest man in the world. ;-)

I think every woman should give it a try! It's an amazing workout. I was drenched in sweat when I left!

haha my friend is actually a stripper and I'm going to take some classes with her and another friend so we can all get workouts and so she can get better at what she does!

My only concern are the bruises. Did you find yourself all bruised after your class?

I would love to do that! But I think that's one exercise I'll wait for till at least some of the weight has come off. I'd only look ridiculous right now. But I'd really love to learn that!

I was not bruised, but I think bruises do come with some of the harder moves where you're hanging upside down on the pole.

There are women there anywhere from 120 pounds to 350 pounds! So I promise, you don't need to lose weight before going to a pole dancing class.

The subject of your thread put a smile on my face - it's my favourite song.

I have never tried pole dancing but why not? I would not expect anything sleezy. I am sure it's quite demanding.
And hey, maybe you will decide to have a pole installed in your bedroom one day .... :-)

That's great. I'd like to try that especially because I'm clumsy and uncoordinated. When I move, I lurch and stumble. Maybe pole dancing will help me be more graceful. But I have absolutely no arm strength- would that be a problem?

Hi motivated chickie! This would be a great workout to help you build arm strength. In the beginning, you don't need a lot of arm strength, but you're definitely using arm muscles. Let me know if you give it a try!

I'm not gonna lie, that sounds like SO much fun! I don't care how skeezy people might think I would be...

I want to take a class, I just want it to be close to the house. Skeezy sounds like a motivator.

That is just awesome! That is something I actually would love to learn, except that I don't have a pole at home! Although, I occasionally see signs outside of adult stores advertising portable poles I would also love to learn belly dancing.
