I Love Walking!! :)

  • Hiya all,

This past week I could not do my walking regeimen, workers doing home repair and I missed my walking session last week.

After breakfast , I taken a 20 minutes walk around my block and I am feeling great!!! I don't want to hide myself anymore.. What I learned from being in a mental health day program for years is to stay active and eating healthy. Keep it simple!

Afternoon, will take another walk, since I am a caregiver, I do my walking after meals.

Get out and walk!! It's good for the soul!! Have a great day Ladies!
  • Woohoo!! I just got back from my walk and I'm on cloud nine just like you!

Can't wait to hear back from you this afternoon that you completed your second walk of the day. :O)
  • When I first started college I'd walk around the campus in the evening with my partner just to get out and do something. I hated sitting around and being bored. Then when I moved to my bigger campus, I had to walk everywhere and I hated it. Now I'm missing walking and I can't wait until it starts getting nice outside so I can start doing it again!
  • I cant say that I'm a big fan of walking but due to my eldest child (6 yr old)needing more exercise to develop her muscles I have committed to take her on a 30 min walk each evening before starting with supper, etc. Is 30 mins per day enough to start off with? because I keep getting sidetracked when I want to exercise along with a fitness DVD that I've got.
  • 30 minutes sounds perfect to me! It's your body, and your body will tell you what's right for you. If 30 minutes is too much, you cut back, no big deal. Later on, 30 minutes might seem too little for you. Then you add more time. The important thing is that you are starting to walk. And on day one if you're tired after 20 minutes, or 2 minutes, just stop. Then aim to add a minute or two the next time you walk. Do NOT get discouraged if you don't walk as far or as long as you'd like on the first day. It will get easier.

    Good luck!
  • Thanx redsox33 - I'm going to keep trying even though it's getting close to winter where I live - I guess trying is what gets you somewhere!
