Pt Test!

  • Up until today i was unable to run, if i run everyday for the next 2 weeks
    - can i run a mile and a half in under 14 min? i need to pass this test to go overseas.
how much weight can i lose a week if i run 2 miles everyday?
i weigh 180 lbs, 20 yrs old and am 5'7
  • Do you have any sort of cardio base? Any running base or history at all? What do you mean that up until today you have been unable to run?

Some people are naturally fast and you might be able to run 1.5 miles in 14 minutes. I am not naturally fast, and I have been running regularly for several years. I could run 1.5 miles in 14 minutes, but it would be hard. My DD could do it in under 10 minutes. It depends on the person.

Weight loss is driven more by nutrition choices than by exercise.

Two weeks is not a lot of time to go from zero running base to 1.5 miles in 14 minutes. My advice: get fitted for good shoes, start with jogging/walking intervals, and make sure you throw in some rest days to avoid injury.

Good luck! All you can do is try. Can you try again in a few months if you need to?

well i used to run alot in october, but i got busy, then i got bit by a brown recluse on my knee.
so i need to start up again - now.
and no i cant postpone the test
  • What kind of times were you running in october? How often and what distances you were running in october?

Asking if you can do this with no other information is completely random. My sil on any given day can get up off the couch and run 1.5 in 14. It took me years of consistent running to get there.

Running 2 miles everyday may not be the most effective way to get there, but there really is a minimum of fitness gain that you can make in 2 weeks regardless of what you do. Either you are someone who can naturally run fast or you are not. The best you can do in 2 weeks is get your body loose and used to running.
