LOL Philosia! I just got back. I think when you typed "red sox where are you?" I was LITERALLY walking through my front door to collapse lol.
W3D1. In my opinion it is SO much easier than week 2's workouts. Maybe I'm just getting stronger, but I view it as "yipeee, only FOUR running intervals, instead of 6".
After I completed the workout, I was like "that's it?" So I continued on a walk around the golf course which is exactly 2 miles. I listened to W2's podcast and on the 5th 90 second run interval, I decided to join in. I did the 5th and 6th runs at my full pace (which is still slow) but I concentrated on using my big (upper) leg muscles and lifting my legs up higher in order to get larger strides.
Cool down walk afterward, so I totaled 4.5 miles! This is a recent (as in the last 5 years)
PR distance for me... by a lot. My goal this week is to only take one day off in between jogs. I've needed a solid 3 days off in between workouts because my joints were just in too much pain. I did other workouts though during my days off.
I'm going to go back and read the previous entries to get caught up. I have to admit, I have not been loyal to this particular thread the past few days and I apologize. :O(
ETA:
charleston... How did your workout go?
priscatip I highly suggest doing at least one workout a week outdoors now so you see how incredibly different running outdoors is vs a treadmill. Keep up the great work!
mothermavis Welcome! That's inspiring that you took some time off and were able to just jump right into week 3. I am also wondering what my speed is outdoors. I know it's much slower than on the treadmill, which is fine. It's a process to increase speed... my goal is also a 10 minute mile. I have a feeling that if I could jog for 13 minutes straight, I would jog a 13 minute mile right now... but I'm totally guessing on that.
jynx Great job! I'm sorry to hear that you're having surgery soon. Feel better
lights How exciting! You MUST keep us posted as you graduate c25k and run in your first race! Do you plan on doing some runs outdoors before the race? Keep up the great work, you're an inspiration!
Philiosia, congratulations on completing week 1! It's a lot of fun and such a great feeling after a workout, isn't it?
Happy running to all!
