Default Omron Pedometers - HJ-720ITC or HJ-112

Never owned a pedometer before - I have Nike+ but decided I want a pedometer.

I am looking at two Omrons - HJ-720ITC and HJ-112.

The difference is $11. The software isn't a huge plus for me I don't think - but if I am going to buy a pedometer I might as well buy a decent one. I know the reviews on the HJ-112 are fantastic - I am just wondering if the other one is worth the little bit of extra money or if you are simply paying for the software. The description makes it sounds like it is more advanced, but who knows.

I am going to be using it for walking, maybe some jogging - and the Walk Away The Pounds DVDs.

So what one should I buy?

FYI - I know these are cheaper on amazon, but I am from Canada.

I have the HJ-112. I won it in fact from this web site a few years ago. It's absolutely wonderful. I've had to change the battery a few times over the years but it's pretty accurate, hasn't broken, has a loop and clip to keep it fasten to your clothes.

Good luck.

I have the HJ-112. I love it and wear it all the time. I think it is pretty accurate.

What a coincidence--I just got the HJ-151 in the mail today. It's the first one I've ever had but it seems to fulfill my every need. I ordered two Omron products (this and a scale) from Amazon and they gave me a $10 discount.

I ended up going with the cheaper one - the HJ-112 - mostly because I could find it locally for cheaper and didn't have to wait for shipping. And it ended up being about $17 cheaper then the other one and the reviews seemed kinda better.
