April 10,000 step/day Challenge Details
Pull out your Pedometers and track your steps! Which team will walk more?
It is recommended that in order to have a healthy lifestyle you should walk a minimum of 10,000 steps/day. This is a chance for you to track how many steps you take a day with a little competitive twist.

Sign Ups are here (click here)...
What you need:
A pedometer (Must have to participate)
A Journal/Sheet of paper to track (If you can’t get to a computer every day, have somewhere else to track your progress)
Daily & Weekly Challenges
You will need to track how many steps you have taken each day. You may use a journal and post your results at the end of each week, or fill your online record in daily. At the end of each week I will post which team took more average steps per day, but bragging rights will go to the team with the highest average of weekly steps. Please also record weekly weigh-ins so we can compare number of steps to weight lost.
Duration & Check-Ins
This challenge is new and probably will need some tweaking as it moves along. As a result, this challenge will only run for the month of March. Check-in dates will be between Saturday nights and Monday nights (you may record daily if you wish, but I will not begin checking the posts until the check-in dates. Cut off time is 12AM Tuesday Morning. Once 12Am Tuesday has passed, I will no longer accept steps. Results will be posted no later then Thursday of each week.
Calendar Example
You may take the example below and make it colorful, etc. Please only use the format below though (make it easier for me to check and tally up totals).

Teams
As this challenge will be using averages, people can join even after it begins (I prefer you sign up before the first day though). Please sign up here (click here). I will begin posting teams on Monday, March 30. The teams will be: Team Cobra and Team Python (if the challenge is more popular this month, I will add more teams). There will be chat threads for each team that you can use to share or trade ideas, problems, etc. You are not required to participate in chats, but it is highly recommended. Your step results will not be included in the weekly team average if you are missing 2 or more days, but each day that is recorded will be included in daily averages. I will consider you dropped from the challenge if you miss 2 check-ins. Once you are in your teams, if someone would like to create a banner, please do so.
Non-Step Bonuses
Obviously there are some forms of exercise that you can not wear your pedometer for. You must still hit 10,000 steps per day (not including bonuses) in order to get bonus steps for biking, swimming, etc. When posting your steps, please post bonus steps separately and then show what your daily total is the both.
Bonus steps are as follows:
20 Min. Light Activity (coasting along, not really sweating)= 1,000 bonus steps
20 Min. Moderate Activity (Sweating after 7-10 Minutes, heart rate elevated)= 2,000 bonus steps
20 Min. Hard Activity (Sweating after 3-5 minutes, heart rate elevated)= 3,000 bonus steps
Again, you can only get bonus steps if you also get at least 10,000 regular steps in that day.
