Okay, I'm here. Who else is part of the team.

KimL1214 03-02-2009 09:31 AM

Me, me, me :)

How goes things so far everyone?

Lewisempire 03-02-2009 10:48 AM

Hi Girls! My name is Cher I'm 35, and I live in East Tn. I am revved up on this challenge, I've been chomping at the bit since Sat night to find out my team. I am married without children, unless you want to count a dog, and a cat. I work as a Hospice nurse, which is kinda how I got myself fat. Anyway, thought a little intro was in order so we can help each other rock this challenge!!
Last night, I was about 1200 steps short, so at 10pm, I walked circles in my driveway. My husband said, the neighbors are gonna think you are crazy. I said, "I'm from California, they already DO think I'm Crazy". :dizzy:
Looking forward to getting to know all of TEAM EAGLE! This will be a lot of fun! Thanks KimL1214 for coming up with this just when I was needing a change!:bravo:

SnowboundChick 03-02-2009 06:12 PM

Hi Cher and Kim. I'm Donna, married to Marcel and mom to 3 boys. I work full time and really have to schedule my time. Right now I'm working on getting my walks in the morning and workouts at lunch at the community gym. I live way up North in a small community of less than 2000.

I only got about 4800 yesterday as I was in a workshop all day but then I went for a walk with my brother and his family and got all my steps in then. I'm doing great today, still lot's of hours in my day and over half way there.

Lewisempire 03-02-2009 09:59 PM

good to meet you Donna! I was just checking in quick before I hit the hay!:D

hope our team got lots of steps in today! I am really glad to see so many people interested! I think this is a great motivator!

As for me, I did hit the goal today, but I don't want to post until the AM because I am still flitting around the house getting stuff ready for morning. I want credit for every last little step....

Good night, and God Bless!

KimL1214 03-03-2009 08:57 AM

Lewisempire~ Hahaha... walking circles in your driveway... (I can't really laugh, because I do circles in my apartment every night, my BF says I'm going to wear a track down in the apartment). I know what you mean about wanting every step to count, I don't take my ped off until I'm crawling into bed, which is also when I track in my journal how many steps I took.

ConfessorSiuan~ How old are your boys? I also live in a small community, little bigger than yours at between 2500-3000 and live in VT. Did you get the storm that hit yesterday? We only got about 4-5 inches, not enough for me to go sledding tonight :(

Morning Ladies!!! So I bombed with steps yesterday, sorry :( I normally won't let myself go to bed until I have my 10,000, but I was falling asleep on the couch at 8. At that point I did only have 2500 steps, so I made myself wander around the apartment until I broke 5,000... but that's as far as I got. I plan on making up for it as the week goes on by getting at least 11-12,000 every day for the rest of the week.

SnowboundChick 03-03-2009 06:17 PM

Well I doubled my first day yesterday at over 8000 and today I'm over 7000 right now we still have hockey practice tonight and my craft night. So I'm doing way better. I went to the gym today for the first time in our local community gym. I live in the Yukon, so way farther north than VT. We get snow all the time and really cold. It's been relatively warm at -10C lately but this morning it was -35 and the vehicles didn't start because they weren't plugged in. But I did my WATP this morning first thing. My boys like to watch be because they keep waking up half way through.

My boys are Kale(7), Mickey(4) and Mica (2). They keep me moving all day long when we are home. They are in school and daycare and I work until 5 everyday.

Lewisempire 03-03-2009 10:09 PM

HI Girls, I did not make goal today.... I had a rough day at work, But I too plan to make it up the next couple of days. I guess that is really what counts in the long run! So far I am almost at 7000 today!

Hey Donna, great job on upping those steps. You sound like a busy lady, and 3 boys! I'm sure there is a special place in heaven for women as brave as you! LOL What kind of crafts do you do?

I thought it was pretty cold here this morning, 17 degrees, and the wind was blowing. Now I am sooooo glad, I wasn't were you both were! YIKES! I was born and raised in the desert! So I have no clue how cold it is below zero, and that is A-OK with me!

Well girls, I am off to bed. I have a lot of steps to make up tomorrow!!!!!
Good night!

KimL1214 03-04-2009 09:22 AM

ConfessorSiuan~ Wow, I thought VT got cold… BRRRR… :yikes: It was 4F out this morning… but that doesn’t even compare to how cold it is up where you are! You must be super busy with 3 young boys! Bravo on upping your steps also!!!

Lewisempire
~ I thought of you last night as I did 2 laps around the school parking lot because I hadn’t reached my step goal yet (I require myself to hit a certain # before I leave school). I did see a couple bus drivers give me funny looks...

Well we seem to be a three lady team. I’m going to shoot some PMs out to the other people who signed up to make sure they haven’t forgotten. It’s all based on averages, so it doesn’t matter how many people are on each team, although the more people you have, the more there are to average out if someone else has a bad day…

I did 30DS this morning and plan on doing C25K tonight. I have my weight watchers meeting tonight, so I tend to push myself a little harder on these days. I’d like to start doing that more consistently so that I’m really pushing myself with at least 2 workouts a day at least 3 days/week. I did hit my steps last night, but did not make up for as much of Monday as I would have liked. I plan on hitting at least 12,000 today! Good luck ladies and keep walking!

Lewisempire 03-04-2009 09:47 AM

Good morning ladies!! I do work tonight, but I have all day to make up the steps from yesterday. I hope you all have a Great Day! I hope some of our other team mates show up.... Thanks again for handling this challenge kim1214.
Donna- Stay warm girl!!!

carrielyn 03-04-2009 11:52 AM

I'm not sure you will want me on your team....I managed 6000 each day since Sunday:o. I'm hoping to get this improved over the next 4 days. But you are welcome to tell me to come back another time when I can get my act together.

I'm sorry.

Carolyn

Lewisempire 03-04-2009 03:55 PM

Carrielyn,
We want you girl! It is more about motivating and supporting one another, not actually winning!
Don't get me wrong, I wanna smear the other team:s:, but I would never, ever put someone else down to do it! Most of us are already too down on ourselves, we need to support one another. If you are doing the best you can, you will improve! AND THAT, is what this is all about! 6000steps a day is nothing to sniff at! At least you are consistant:high:. Everyone is at a different place in their weight loss battle, that is what makes us beautiful. We need each other, and we need you!
I also want the other team to do well, because competition gets me moving. So the better they do, the harder I try to win! I know it's a little crazy, but at least I can admit it!;)

Get on and log those steps, good, bad, or ugly! At the end of this month, I think you will be inspired by yourself! And you never know when your 6000 steps may just inspire someone else......:D

carrielyn 03-04-2009 05:37 PM

Thank you very much!!

Can you tell me where to log these steps in. I saw a site for the other team but I did not see one for us high-flying Eagles...

Lewisempire 03-04-2009 06:24 PM

Ours is way back on the 2nd or 3rd page. I have been editing my original post.

SnowboundChick 03-04-2009 07:34 PM

I'm have a dismal day. Woke up not feeling so hot so I've spent most of the day in bed with a book or watching a movie. I've been trying to get up a lot and move around but the steps are not adding up. I think the pedo doesn't work so well on these pants I'm wearing or I'm just not getting the steps. I know i'll do better tomorrow.

Everyone is doing awesome. Keep up the great work.

Kim what does 30DS and C25K mean?

Lewisempire 03-04-2009 08:25 PM

Oh Donna, so sorry you are sick!:getwell: don't forget to keep your fluid intake up! don't worry about the steps, just rest and get to feeling better.
Carrielyn- I forgot to ask earlier, but tell us about yourself......

Kim...good work on the PM, we found one of our eagles! YAY!

I will post my steps tomorrow, but so far, I have A LOT:D

KimL1214 03-05-2009 09:49 AM

carrielyn~ WELCOME!!! http://3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=165565 (where to post steps)

Lewisempire~ How’d you end up doing yesterday?

ConfessorSiuan~ Feel better! 30DS~ 30 Day Shred and C25K is Couch 2 5K

I busted through 12,000 yesterday and was down 2.8 at my weigh in!!! YAY!!! Sorry, I was excited, first loss in a while and a well deserved one. Keep stepping!!!

Lewisempire 03-05-2009 10:15 AM

:cheer::cheer:heck yah! Kim you do deserve it!!:cheer::cheer: Way to go girl! Keep up the good work!

How is Donna today? Hopefully you are feeling better. I have several friends getting sick right now, so I am loading up on Vit C, zinc, echinacea, and goldenseal! Let us know how you are doing when you feel up to it!

Carrielyn, did you get your steps recorded?

I decided to make up for my lack of steps, I did 14103 yesterday. I did the first 10,000 all at once yesterday morning, and man I feel it today!!! I was down right impressed with myself! I don't think my numbers will be that impressive today.

Hope everyone has a really great day

carrielyn 03-05-2009 01:54 PM

Kim, congraulations girls...way to go!!! I love down.

LewisEmpire, I did get my piddly few steps posted. Though I am unable to record them as bonus steps I have been doing some strength and flexibility exercises also. Mismo, not as much as I should but better then nothing.

I don't care for this Omron pedometer I have. To test it, I walked four steps, stopped, turned around and walked four more steps. It did not register these. I had a pedometer that measured almost every step and did not measure non-walking movements and I really liked it. The batteries have run down and if I can find the instructions for it I will buy more batteries for it. In the meantime, I have a WW pedometer coming from eBay.

SnowboundChick 03-05-2009 02:11 PM

Kim - Way to go on the loss!! I love seeing the number go down.

Cher - Awesomeness!! You rock girl!!

Carrie - i went through a couple before I found the right one for me. I'm using a Go Walking by Sportline that I got at Walmart. It works great and I think it was only $12.

So I still don't get the bonus steps. Are those steps over the 10,000 or other activities we do besides walking. I count my workout(walks) in my 10,000, that is right isn't it.

I only got over 2000 steps in yesterday. I'm feeling better today but dragging my feet, I only got 5 hours sleep last night so needless to say I didn't get in my morning walk but I'm going to do it on my lunch break(I'm skipping the gym today and might go tomorrow), at least part of it. My lunches consist of picking up my son from school, taking him home and making him lunch. We have 1 hour for lunch, it's only a 5 minute drive home. We do this everyday except Monday when he's aloud to stay. He's a curious boy and often disturbs others in his curiosity or interest, so we just pick him up. It gives him a break in the day. Hubby will pick him up if I ask but he'd have to come into town from the opposite direction. He does it when I go to the gym two days a week.

Lewisempire 03-05-2009 10:02 PM

Good evening girls!
Donna, as I understand it you have to get your 10000 steps before you can count any bonus. Sounds like you are a busy lady! It is very difficult to get steps when you don't feel well.... Hopefully you will feel better soon!

Carrielyn, if you know the name of the pedometer, you might be able to download a manual from the website. Also, if you take the battery to walmart/walgreens, they should be able to make a match!

Kim_ 2.8 pounds, I am sooooo jealous! You did it!! that is soooo cool.:carrot:
Yesterday about killed me, so I split my long workout in to 3 shorty sessions today, and took plenty of motrin. But I still had to do the last 700 steps in my driveway. I pray I will see some more scale changes in the right direction soon!

I will log my miles in tomorrow, I am on-call tonight, and may get a few more in before midnight! Hope you all have a great night!

GO TEAM EAGLE!!!!!!

KimL1214 03-06-2009 09:15 AM

Lewisempire~ Awesome job! :carrot: 14,000 steps is amazing!!! You’ll see that scale move soon!

carrielyn~ My old pedometer did the same thing, only worked about half the time. I LOVE my WW pedometer as it catches almost every step (I’ve tested it numerous times and found that it only misses steps when I don’t pick up my feet, I have some shoes that I tend to slide more with).

ConfessorSiuan~ How are you feeling today? Did you catch up on your sleep?

I logged just over 11,000 steps yesterday, but have a feeling I will struggle today. My BF and I are in the process of trying to work things out, but have both pretty much come to the heart breaking conclusion that we are not really meant to be together. He doesn’t want marriage or kids ever, and I want both. Neither one of us is really willing to give and it seems like the longer we stay together the longer we are just dragging out the inevitable. I love him so much though. And this is why I hate relationships…

Lewisempire 03-06-2009 07:08 PM

We are really doing GREAT!! Went hiking/geocaching today and got a little lost!!! HaHA trying to avoid some BIG Hills! long story short, went the long way and found bigger hills! That will teach us to be lazy!:nono:

Kim, It is hard when you know you are fighting a losing battle. Maybe it is time to just let go. It doesn't mean you don't love that person, or that they don't love you. We all grow and change, and not always in the same direction. Before I met my husband, (A great guy!) I was in a place like you. If I hadn't moved on, I would have missed out on an awesome love!! It was scary, and heartbreaking. Every once in awhile, I look back with fond memories, but I know now I am better off and so is he. And I am soooooo much happier now! Keep your chin up, God has someone really great picked out for you, who is just right! My Mom always said "pray for your husband, even if you don't know who he is. You at least know he has been born, and he may need God's help as much as you." I thought that was always good advice....She also said, you are either getting married, or breaking up!!! Good luck, Life is too short to be miserable!!!!!

carrielyn, WTG GIRL!!

Donnna, feeling better yet??? Hope so!

SnowboundChick 03-06-2009 11:08 PM

Yup, feeling way better. I slept tons last night and got up early to do my walking. I'm over 11000 right now and my night is def not over yet. I only got over 2000 yesterday, it was a bad day all around for me, I was just in a bad mood and it affected everything. Doing much better today.

Kim I'm very sorry you are going through this right now. Sometimes it's hard to make the tough decisions and my hubby always say the harder the decision is usually right. I too have been through a difficult break up before I meet my husband. Lot's of Hugs to you and I'll keep you in my thoughts.

Lewisempire 03-08-2009 11:25 AM

Good morning girls!!!
Donna, glad to here your feeling better! And you are back with a vengence girl!!! Look at your Steps!!! AWESOME Great job!!!

Kim1214, Great job on your steps! Keep staying strong! You deserve the best!

Carrielyn, did you get your new pedometer? how do you like it?

I need to get up and get moving girls, I slacked a little yesterday, so I want to get some steps early today so that won't happen again today!

one week down!!!!!!YIPEEEEE!

KimL1214 03-09-2009 10:05 AM

Lewisempire~ Thank you for the advice, we were able to work through everything and I am amazed at how much better things are now. I can't even explain how much things have changed. I'm hoping that it's a real change and not temporary though. Great job with your steps! Hiking! I wish it was nice enough here, I love hiking and it's such a great workout!

ConfessorSiuan~ Thank you. I really needed to hear some good words and you all helped a lot! Good to hear you're feeling better!

I had a hard time staying OP this weekend, but was able to get my steps in. I'm hoping to be able to post results tomorrow so please post any steps you haven't posted yet. Great job!

Lewisempire 03-09-2009 10:34 AM

Kim1214, I am glad to here you worked things out. sometimes all they need is a little jolt, I hope things stay good too! Relationships can be so hard! i have had a hard time staying on plan this weekend too! I am blaming TOM! We worked outside yesterday, chopping down trees, stacking firewood, tilling the garden. So I say I got one heck of a good workout, but not all my steps.
Ok girls new week......I am gonna refocus. Let's make it a good week!

SnowboundChick 03-09-2009 12:45 PM

Cher - Sounds like you were busy!! At least you'll reap the benefits by having a beautiful yard! I can't wait until all our snow is gone and I can start working on my garden. I'm hoping to get another box this year.

Kim- I'm glad you are working things out. Relationships are hard work. Hubby and I have been together got 12 years now and married for 7 (8 in July). I'll tell you that when we were first together he didn't want children or to be married because he'd done it already, he's 15 years my senior(people always say I seem older than my age and he seems younger than his age). But we so got each other and I did not want to end it. It was tough decision to me but I don't think I could have lived without him. After almost four years he agree to have a baby and when I was pregnant he changed his mind about marriage (after I came to terms with never being married, Men!) and we ended up getting married when I was 7 months pregnant! We are very happy now and most of the crap we dealt with at the beginning is all moot now.

Anyhow, I had a fairly laid back weekend. I went to a friend's friday night and had a few beers. I was too tired the next day to do my long walk. We went to my parents for dinner and then Sunday, I forgot to wear my pedometer for half the day and I was cooking and cleaning all day. My parents and brother and his fiance and her little boy came over for dinner. My brother and fiance are leaving tomorrow, she's due to have a baby on the 22nd. We are all very excited. Up here where I live there is no hospital and it's manditory for all mothers to go to the City (whitehorse to have their babies). All three of my were born their.

Again I stayed up late and couldn't sleep so I did not get my walk in, I'm trying to figure out when to do it. Monday lunches are our free lunch cause Kale takes his lunch on this one day a week. So Hubby and I usually have a date. I don't think I could give up my date to walk. I'll see how the day goes.

I've not received it. The one I have takes two batteries and I need to price them but two might make the new one even more attractive since these batteries aren't always cheap.

One of the guys I work with brought a book to show me titled "Eat This, Not That" or something like that. I looked through it and I can see why this country has an obesity problem. My goodness, it is absolutely scary what restaurants and fast food places will feed us.

I'm going to check into the Momentum/Flex program from WW. My company will pay my membership. Something to check out, but at the same time I like SBD. I need to find my book and compare the two programs to see which will be easier to work with.

My problem right now is partially my Mother (though she does not twist my arm). She spends the winter with me because Houston is warmer then Reno and Sacramento where my two sisters live. Mom is 87 yo and weighs about 110-115. She likes to eat things but only eats small amounts and then pushes her leftovers to me and foolishly I eat some of it so as not to throw it away. I've gained 3 pounds since she came down this time. I told her this morning no more, she can either share mine or she can share with my husband but I can no longer eat the things she likes. Bad for my weight and my diabetes; and, it's not good for her either.

Take care all.

Carolyn

Feral 03-10-2009 12:40 PM

Hi Girls!!!!!! My apologies for this being the first time I've popped in here!

My name is Feral. I'm 25 and live in North Carolina. I work full time at a middle school (Guidance secretary), go to school part time (pre nursing major) and travel back and forth monthly between NC and ATL where my boyfriend lives. I moved BACK from Atlanta a little over a year ago and am SOOO ready to move back down there! I'm shooting for this summer.

I currently am doing the WW program. I had lost about 17lbs all together (from my heaviest sometime this Christmas) to now.... and then gained by 7 over the past two weeks. I was bad... and I paid for it. LOL

Last week wasn't so hot as far as my steps went. I was rear ended and doctor's orders were to stay home for 2 days because it aggrivated a previous back injury.

This week is MUCH better though. I feel like I have walked ALL OVER this school today. I keep taking the longest routes possible. HAHA!

I hope everyone is having a GREAT week.

Also, I have a test for school tonight and tomorrow and will be leaving to go out of town Thurs. - Monday. I will try to check in as often as possible, but if I disappear that's why!!!! :)

KimL1214 03-11-2009 09:43 AM

Feral, long time no see!!! :D Haha, we seem to be on a lot of the same forums!

So, I'm working on doing the math and will have the weekly results posted by the end of the week! Thank you to everyone who included their total weekly steps along with the average, makes my life a lot easier. Great job everyone and keep stepping!!!

carrielyn 03-11-2009 01:58 PM

I received my WW pedometer yesterday. So I'm wearing it today hoping to pick up a few more steps.

I'm leaving work a bit early today...taking Mom to see Reba. She's excited about that. We've been having absolutely beautiful weather here until I plan to take Mom out for the evening and it's going to turn cold and rainy. I am pleased we might get some rain though and I have a big umbrella. Walking about the rodeo I should get quite a few steps there and I'll be pushing Mom on her walker a lot. She can't walk that far.

I'm also going to be off tomorrow and Friday. I won't be able to register steps until Monday but I'm planning to do WATP several times over the next four days....wish me success please.

Everyone have a terrific weekend.

Carolyn

SnowboundChick 03-11-2009 02:49 PM

Hi Feral, nice to see you.

Carrie, you'll do great!! Have fun at Reba!!

I'm doing okay. My little guy has been sick, so I've had some late nights and no walks in the morning. He's finally back at daycare today and hopefully will sleep normally tonight because I'm tired. I got my WiiFit in the mail yesterday and was trying it out at midnight after I finally got my guy to sleep but he was up again 10 minutes later. I still need to make it to the gym this week and really need to get back to it.

SnowboundChick 03-12-2009 12:37 PM

What a week! I'm just not getting the sleep I need to be alert and exercise. It's a big problem for me, if I don't get the sleep I need I feel like crap and it puts off so much stuff in my life.

So I dug out my WiiFit the other night it said my age was 47 and then the next day it said I was 33, my age. It makes a difference I guess in being tired or not.

I got some good sleep last night for a change but I slept too much, I just couldnt' make my body get up. I woke up at 4am in my son's bed, he must have got up in the night from coughing but I don't remember when I went there. Even my hubby didn't notice I was gone. So I made it back to my bed and slept until almost 7. I wish I'd gotten up sooner.

My lunch meeting was cancelled to I made arrangement for my oldest son for lunch and I'm heading to the gym. I'm so excited!! I really do love working out.

KimL1214 03-12-2009 08:27 PM

Carrielyn~ How do you like your WW pedometer? Good luck this weekend!!!

ConfessorSiuan~ How is your little guy feeling? How was your workout at the gym?

Lewisempire~ How are you doing?

So I lost a 1 lb. I’m a little disappointed, but also realize that I was not very good last weekend. If I could get a grip on the weekends, I know I would see some huge improvements. I’ve been doing really well with my steps and am pumped that even with our small team, we still won last week! Great job ladies and keep stepping!

SnowboundChick 03-13-2009 01:39 AM

My boy is feeling way better! I'm hoping he's sleeping better tonight.

My workout at the gym was great! I'm so glad that I went, I felt wonderful afterward.

Lewisempire 03-14-2009 11:38 AM

Hi EAGLES!!!! Yay us for winning last week!:cp:
It has been a rough week for me between work and Overtime, stress, PMS, sick dog, and taxes! I was NAUGHTY!!! but I am back on track!:carrot:

Feral, welcome! awesome job on WW- just keep at it! What do you study in school?

Donna, Glad to hear everyone is feeling better.... WTG on getting back to the gym, it can be sooooo easy to let it slide! :carrot: I did get my lettuce/spinach seeds planted this week, so I'll have yummy salads soon! Now we are back to rainy and wet this week, and weekend :( . It did feel good while the sunshine lasted..... when does the warmer season start for you???

Carrieylyn- sounds like fun, I love the rodeo!!! I must be slow today, what does WATP mean.....:?: YAY, on your new pedometer!!!! RACK up those steps!!!!!!:D

Kim1214- congrats on your loss this week!! That is a success girl!!! keep up the hardwork, it will pay off !!!! you are probably building some muscle tooo with all your steps, sooo measure yourself You will get good news there too!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

SnowboundChick 03-16-2009 12:28 PM

I'm hoping this week is better than the last. Last week I forgot to wear my pedometer on parts of the day after changing or whatever. Plus not getting my morning walks really hurt me. I think some of my pants ride too high and don't let my pedometer work properly but i just counted what it said.

Already to day I'm way over all of last weeks numbers and it's only 9:30, i did stay up late reading but when I woke up at 6:30 I got up anyway and walked. It felt great. I'm feeling so much better and on track even with last weeks dismal efforts. I'm still down 1lb at my weekly weigh in more than I've seen in over a month.

We are still very, very cold here. It's -28C today. It was down to -38 this weekand and we are supposed to be starting to warm up. Another month before we see some nice weather though.

I haven't started any of my plants yet, I was supposed to go dig a trail to my green house and get out my trays but I didn't want to face the wind we were getting. The snow on the side yard is past my knees but I'm going to put on the ski pants some point this week and when I do I'll go get them. I did dig out the back gate this weekend and what a workout that was. I've also been on my WiiFit everyday since we got in on Tuesday. It's a lot of fun!

How is everyone else doing?

:fr:Um Donna, I could not live where you do! and the next time I start to Whine about the weather, I am gonna think of you and Thank my lucky stars I am not up to my butt cheeks in the white stuff. I was born and raised in the Desert, so I am used to the heat. Heat comes with its own challenges, but the Really hot days only lasted about 3.5 months. and we had, pools, and AC.
As for my steps, I have good days and not so good days. My average is slightly up for last week. Nothing spectacular!

Glad to here Donna (ConfessorSiuan) is feeling better this week, how is everyone else doing?
