I know you prob discussed this already but...

  • I was just wondering, I read that the abductor machine is not effective at all, I was wondering that would be an effective exercise to slim down my thighs and tone as well. Thank you!
  • Squats, step-ups, lunges and plies have given me the best results for muscle building/toning, along with my bike and stairstepper for fat burning powers to show the muscles (bike also builds up the front of your legs - quads, the stairstepper helps my calves, hamstrings and butt). I've never tried those spread 'em machines, that's a vulnerable position at the gym. LOL, JK.

The only way to 'spot reduce' is to reduce overall, as you likely know. So by burning off fat and building muscle you'll have some killa legs.
  • What FB said... you need to burn the fat through exercise and use weight exercises to make your legs shapely.

Squats, lunges, plie squats, step ups, side lunges, etc. Most can be done purely with your own body weight but you can add weights once you get your form down.
  • The only real use for the abductor/adductor machines is if you have major stability issues. And even then, only on the advice of a Physical Therapist.
  • To put a finer point on it--there's no such thing as spot reducing. So the part about a machine that will help you slim down your thighs-- those are the same machines that burn fat and calories from every other part of your body.
