I see on the elliptical trainer under the "cardio" setting, it says my target heart rate 158 bpm. If I keep it at that, then I'm moving at a pace of about 4mph and not breaking a sweat for 30 min. If I go faster my heart rate shoots up to 170-180 bpm. Will I still lose weight if I keep it at the target heart rate? i'm a total elliptical noob.
everyones heart rate is different that is why they give you a range. I am 45 and all the mahines say my heart rate should be at 144 but my average is 168 during a cardio workout. The best thing you can do is speak to proffessional at your gym or your Dr. They say that for a good cardio workout you should be able to speak but not hold a full conversation. I hope this helps
