Excellent work on your bike btw, and for not overdoing thanksgiving. I was... not so good. But, eh, it's once a year. I GOTS to have me some mashed potatoes and turkey gravy.
Hey! Glad to see your still hanging in there! Unfortunately I have to report that I will not be exercising today. I wasn't planning on taking any days off but there is just no way I will have time to add it in today. I have literally been running around since 6 am and I just have this short break before I'm off again. Ugg!
Hopefully all this running around will count as a little movement for me today. But I will DEFINATELY be on the bike tomorrow!!!
Congrats on the Zumba system! I bought it and was doing it with hubby a LONG TIME AGO. He actually got really good at it and it helped his poor uncoordinated white boy dancing...lmao!

Well, sometimes life does get in the way of our good intentions. Yesterday was a light day for me, took the dogs for a long walk and that was about it, aside from dancing around my living room to some righteous tunes. I did eat healthfully though. In addition to working out more, I'm trying to remember to nourish my body. Don't just cram any old thing into the pie hole.
I did some lower body work this morning: squats, plies, floor touches, dead lifts, etc. I'll be visiting my grandmother today (no cleaning), and then tonight will be preparing for DH and I's interview with the Dept of Homeland Security. DH is working towards his green card. I'm not so much nervous as nauseated.
Well, I'm glad to report that taking yesterday off didn't stop the exercise wagon! I did my 40min@14mph today and my upper body routine! Haven't gotten on the scale in a while, probably do it tomorrow morning to see where I'm at.
Today's diet will be suffering a little because we definately need to do some grocery shopping. I'm going to try and eat as healthy as possible with what we have left [lol]
Good job with the lower body work. I figured that riding the bike will do the lower body for me. I just have to work in some ab work that won't kill my back. Still searching for a good exercise for that one.
How was Zumba? Did you get to try it yet?

I did the 50 min intro dvd on Friday. It is going to take time for me to learn the moves, so I'll be flailing around for a while. I think I'll try the tone & sculpt on Wednesday. I don't think I'll get a workout in tomorrow, as my grandmother wants me to help her tomorrow after DH and I finish with the interview.
I'm sure everything will be fine, but dealing with the Feds always makes me feel nauseated.
I was able to squeeze in a shorter workout today. I didn't get to do the full 40min@14mph, but I was able to do 30 minutes and hit 400 calories instead of my 500. Hope that doesn't make too much of a difference. No upper body for me today. So I'm pretty much done for the day and free to run the kids around everywhere they need to go.
Mornin! Just wanted to check in and say I was able to do my full 40 min. workout this morning. I still have to do my upper body today but I'm hoping to fit that in later. I'll update, once I get it done.
Interview went very well, the last hoop we have to jump through. Other than that, yesterday was not so good. Got an attack of the snackies and did not work out. Walked for an hour today, broken up in three walks.
I ate better today, so taking comfort in that. Tomorrow will be another day, I'm planning on the Zumba Tone & Sculpt.
Oy, this week is going to kill me! I did get the Zumba in today, so huzzah for that!
However... I just realized my company's client party is tomorrow, directly after work. Sooo, there will be no workout tomorrow... AND, Friday is our office christmas party... so unless a drunken pool tournament qualifies as exercise, I'm afraid I probably won't get another workout in until Saturday. Drat, drat, and double drat!
Actually running into some bumps in the road. Yesterday I didn't get to do my upper body workout afterall. But no big deal, I figured I'd just do it today. Yeah right, that didn't work out either.
I did do my bike this morning but only for 25 minutes/300 calories. : I ran out of time because I had to watch a kid today and I just couldn't time it right so I'd be out of the shower before he got dropped off. Planned on getting back to finish the workout after he left.
But then my kids had an hour delay for school because of a fire in town and the kid left before I had to drop off my kids. So I took the opportunity to finish my christmas shopping by heading out first thing this morning. Well, it took me all day but at least I'm now finished. I didn't get home until 5:30pm. Then I made dinner and by the time all was said and done it was 8pm & I was exhausted I wanted to wrap gifts tonight but ended up just vegging on the couch.
: My good news for the day? I weighed myself and am at 145! WooHoo! That was the weight I had been at the longest after having my first 3 kids. It also means I've lost 9 lbs in the last 5 weeks! DEFINATE motivation to keep going. I'm almost afraid to eat now just because I don't want to gain again. I'm going to have to update me signature now
Good for you for doing the Zumba! And I wouldn't worry about the 'day off' from diet/exercise. I think we're all entitled every once in a while as long as we stay aware and try to counter-act it after. As for the Christmas parties, (I hope you have a good time. I have one coming up Saturday night), I'd say just try to eat as health as possible and try to get in as much dancing as you can! We'll have the New Year for making up for that
Okay, so the past couple of days have gone down hill for me. Hubby came home early from his business trip because he was really sick. Turns out he has broncitis from all his travel, lack of sleep and long work hours. So yesterday I had to care for him and exercise was the first thing that ended up cut from my to-do list. But I ate pretty good so I at least had that going for me.
As for today, I had a child to babysit and still care for the sick hubby. Also, I was extra tired because my rehersal ran late last night, I had to get up early to clean my house before the kid arrived this morning AND I got little sleep because I slept on my couch so I wouln't get sick. So again, no exercise.
But to make matters worse, I slipped and had some bad (but yummy cookies/snacks). The kid I watch gave me a small container of italian cookies as a gift. So of course after looking at it all day, I gave in to my exhaustion and had 2 cookies and a brownie. I wouldn't feel so bad about it if I had exercised.
And tomorrow, I will be running the kids around all morning and then my little sister (cousin, actually) is coming shopping with me because my band is have a photo shoot on sunday for new advertising pics and I have NOTHING to wear. And then I have a christmas party to go to. I hope that getting a lot of dancing in tomorrow may help counter act a little of the slipping I've had over the past few days.

Okay, so it's Tuesday morning. Here's the recap of the last several days...
Saturday - did all my running around, ate okay although my portion sizes at the party probaby weren't great. But I did spend almost the entire night on the dance floor. So I'm hoping that helped.
Sunday - did get in a short 20 minute workout. Ate right.
Monday - had to watch 2 kids all day and had rehersal at night. No exercise
Today - only have 1 kid to watch and he isn't getting here until around 9 so I'm checking in, going to have my breakfast and workout before he gets here. I'll try to update later with what I was able to get done. If I don't update later, I'll do it tomorrow because tonight is my mom's birthday.
[[UPDATE...okay, good news/bad news. I was able to do my 40 mins/500 calories today. BUT...I had 2.5 pieces of extra cheese pizza and 3 bites of whipped cream topped birthday cake at my mom's. Now as I'm writing this, I feel really guilty about the cake but not so much for the pizza. I did eat light today and was kind of expecting the bad dinner but I couldn't resist the cake. I'm hoping the exercise this morning will more than make up for the cheat today. ]]

Morning! Happy to report I was able to do my 40 min/500 cals today! I pretty proud because I didn't sleep well last night & was up with the baby for a little bit. This morning the cold I've been fighting for the last few weeks seemed especially strong and I didn't know if I would be up for exercise. But thank god for Sudafed, a good breakfast and a little determination (very little...lol).
I think A BIG motivating factor is that I made myself a little calendar with a countdown to my first show. Knowing that it's coming soon and every day counts, helped to give me that push I needed today.
Happy Thursday! Don't know what's gotten into me today, if I'm finally starting to get over the cold I've been fighting or actually got a good night's sleep, or both but I woke up today with a little more energy than usual.
I was able to hit my 500 cals today at 35 minutes but I continued to 40 min anyway for the extra calorie burn Might even start back up with upper body today since I'm feeling so good!
Hope you still plan on checking in. This has been very good for me! Knowing that I have to own up to what I've been up to has helped to keep the cheating and laziness to a minimum. Hope to 'talk' to ya soon!
I'm sorry to see that you haven't logged in since my last post. I'm worried that you have given up. My hope is that you're just busy with Christmas and plan on coming back soon!
As for me, Friday we had a huge snow storm and I had kids that ended up staying later than planned. So once everyone left, it was late and I was too tired so I never got to exercise
Saturday - I had the worst migraine headache and could barely lift my head. So again, no exercise
Sunday - Happy to say that fear of stopping pushed me towards the bike and I was able to get my 40 min/500 cal done!
Today - Got on the bike again today! Was pressed for time so I picked up the pace and did the 500 cals in 35 min.
I'm hoping I can keep going through Jan 9th! I'd REALLY REALLY like to be below 140 lbs. by then. I know it's possible but with the holidays in the way, I'm nervous.
