  • More rain yesterday and last night so no baseball again yesterday. I like to get my walks in during the children's practice. It's not raining yet this a.m. so I'm getting out there for 4+. If the kids have practice maybe I can get a couple more in later. I'll update if so!!

  • I got 2 quick ones in before we had to take off for Angie's end of the year teacher party/happy hour. Today is the 10K Mud Run for her, my son and daughter and a few nephews....hoping to get pictures!

LOVNMOM the cute little guy is the son of my niece...his name is Jet.

    28/75 MILES

    Have a great week-end everyone.
  • I got in 40 more minutes of tennis last night...bummer though, I left my cell phone on the bench behind the school. I realized it 1.5 hours later and when I went back it was gone. It will be a long weekend of wondering if it's in the school or where. It's ringing when I call it, but no one answers and it's not dead yet...we shall see!

  • Hope you find that cell phone LOVNMOM!

Forgot to post my 3 miles yesterday. We rode the shuttle bus into the mud run yesterday from parking but the kids and I decided to walk the 2 miles back to the cars...Angie and a few others rode the bus. I know I did well over 3 miles chasing the runners too, for pictures...but will just take 1 for my journal....gives me 3 for the day.

  • Gary, For now I just re-activated an old phone and de-activated the lost one. Both phones were freebies with about the same options and my plan didn't charge me for reactivation. Let it go...
It sounds like you all had a terrific time yesterday.

Church was nice this morning and the weather is beautiful. Breezy with blue skies, so I took off for a 10 mile bike ride. I had to "portage" my bike here and there and it was more like off road in spots. There were areas where the flooding washed across rather than down the bike trail. It was pretty rutted in a deep washboard way, but I feel terrific and really glad I went.

  • Another 2.25 with Mel tonight while DD was at volleyball and DS was lifting weights.
I asked the school principal to check the security camera closest to where I'd left my cell phone. The only one filmed during the 2 hour time frame I asked her to check was a little old lady walking her dog. Her home is at the end of the football field. The local police chief knew who she was of course (pop 1,000) She drove down and asked her if she'd found a phone and sure enough she had. I get to pick it up at the principal's office tomorrow!!! I haven't been in the pricipal's office for a long time. I hope I don't start sweating lol

  • How lucky is that LOVNMOM!

No miles for me today...tired from a long day at work...and Angie is off for the summer so she will be taking the girls most mornings as she did today for 3.5...

I better find a reason to get out there!
  • I'm baaaack!!

Got in from overseas last night and am currently up to my eyeballs in laundry. I am slowly trying to catch up on current events, email, and my normal life in general.

After two weeks of vacation I have returned home 5 pounds heavier and not a mile of running to account for. However, to my credit, I walked a lot and climbed many a hill and stairs. Our family lives in a very small village and the streets lead either uphill or downhill. Also, I just cannot hold back on the bread, pastries, cheese, wine, ham, seafood, etc. etc. etc.

I am back to work today. I ran 3 miles this morning and I hope to get some more in tomorrow. My goal is 40 for the month, so I need to get cracking!

I will update my signature and profile (to account for the additional pounds) later.

I'll catch up to the postings later as well. Hope all is well with everyone!

  • Baskgal, Welcome back. It sounds like you had a lovely vacation. I'm sure well worth a 5# gain that you'll knock right back off anyway!!! Glad to have you back in the states safe and sound.

My youngest DS had his first Minor League (pitching machine) game today. He got a double and at least hit the ball 3 other times at bat, but got thrown out at first. They play two 4 inning games. They lost the first by 1 run and won the second 4-0. It was a great "first" game. He's the youngest on the team and played short stop. I think the coach sees some natural ability. My older two had practice this afternoon and I was able to get in 4.25 again and with Mel again too. It's always nicer with someone.
    Have a great Day!

  • Glad you had a good time BASKGAL! Good to see you back. Take me next time!! Food sounds wonderful!

You know I just love baseball LOVNMOM! Congrats to your boy...enjoy it all you can...it goes fast. My son, 27, and I still play catch...but with my arm and my eyes...it just isn't the same. I miss those old days coaching! But, now he is the coach! And an outstanding one!!

No miles for me again...Angie took the dogs for their 3.5 this morning and again, I had a long day. I did lose 2 pounds yesterday so I must be working hard!! I must be...I must be...oh...my aching back....
  • Gary, you must be you must be working very hard. Hope you have time for your Starbucks walk this weekend!

It's all about baseball again today.
12 y/o son has a Senior League game this morning and a Little League game this afternoon. They are both away so I'll be only going to the Little League one, because he is being asked to pitch for the first time ever. He's 12 and even though he has that "man thing" going on like he doesn't need his mom anymore. He just may if the game goes south. I'll try real hard to only say kind and respectful things to the ump. DD is catching today for L.L. and that's right where she wants to be!! They'll both be playing 2 - 4 inning games at the same park. I'll watch him when he's pitching and her when he's not. The sun is beautiful. Planning to walk the dog an easy 3 miles on the bike trail. No hills today please!
