Went to a wedding last night where I danced and danced until I was sweating! Now if I could just figure a way to incorporate dancing into a daily routine!
Oh its easy! If you have an Ipod or mp3 player instead of watching tv on a night time dance around your room to a good workout playlist! I do it on a daily basis and it's a really feel good exercise
I tried salsa last year (unfortunately, it did not last, only 5 people signed up and after 3 classes we were down to 3 and the instructor cancelled on us as was loosing money on the studio rent) and I got sweaty very quickly, and that was just trying to learn the basic steps. I would love to be able to dance salsa but considering the fact that since I turned 44 or so I sweat a lot with little physical activity, I don't think it's going to happen.
Keep dancing! It's a fantastic way to burn calories.
I do salsa at my gym and it's a lot of fun and a great workout, plus not too high impact. I also did a class at my local adult school. I know they had a whole selection including some Afro Caribbean dancing to a drummer.
You can do dancing designed for exercise from videos - I've gotten some from my library - if you want a routine to follow. I've tried several and there are some from Dancing with the Stars that I liked. I'm sure there are plenty of other styles too.
And I know once I learned basic salsa steps from class, I used music I already had (I like a lot of Latin music) and did routines from class to them (or at least tried to replicate those routines, lots of fun trying, and I do move around a lot!).
I *love* to dance. I'm not very good at it, but I love it. I keep thinking I should take dance classes at some point ... I just need to find someone to go with me!
I have several aerobic dance DVDs that I love. I particularly love the latin "flavor" videos. I bought the Zumba dvds and they are a GREAT workout and a LOT OF FUN!
I did latin dance for a couple of years when I was in Korea. My arms and ab were really toned back then. I remember one New Years Even when I went to a latin dance club and danced about 9 hours with literally minimal rest.
I have hard time finding a place to do latin dance here in Michigan now...especially since I work at night.
I've been looking into Zumba dvds though... maybe I will get them...?
I've been taking ballroom classes for a while now and really enjoying it. Last night I took my first West Coast Swing class. It is a really awesome dance that, once you learn the basic footwork, can embellish with fancy turns and moves. I was absolutely soaked with sweat by the end of the 2 hours!
Yah, Dancing is a good workout.Dance is a ageless.Every person can do this.Mostly persons says dancing increases the age.Dance can be an attractive fitness option.
I loooooooooove dance!! Not so much partnered dancing (I could never get into it) but I take ballet and jazz several times a week. Ballet is GREAT for muscle toning and control, and jazz is great for that as well, and depending on the routine you're working on or the conditioning your teacher is into, it can be SERIOUS cardio as well!!
Pilates is also a great supplement if you're into dance!!
I enjoy dancing. My MIL goes to dance with a group each week on Fridays. I've gone once, but she's taught me some of the dances already. I throw on some music off the laptop, or simply the radio and I match different dances to the beat. Its fun, I get sweaty and I burn a few calories
