Ugghh...i've been out of town for work and haven't been able to get my excercise in like i wanted....oh well...it's a new day for me to start again!

Ran 5 miles yesterday :D

mandalinn82 05-11-2007 03:50 PM

Hadn't used my resistance bands in forever so thought I'd break them out and see if they were still challenging. Oh boy were they - got to jazz up some of my old staples with added resistance, and once I got started, I just wanted to keep going. So I went 15 min over my lunch break for a 75 min session. I did the following (4 sets of 15x unless otherwise noted):

Bicep Curls
Lat Pulls
One arm rear flies - 12x per side
Overhead Presses
Squats - 12x
Butt Blasters (12x per side, 3 sets...they were HARD)
Rear Delt Flies
Tricep Extensions - 12x
Leg Raise Crunches w/ band

And without the band...
Lower Ab/Inner Thigh Ball Squeezes
Bicycle Crunches

I was low on energy at the gym today. Don't know why. Still getting stitches when I try to run. Don't know why that is, either.

33 mins treadmill (300 cal)
25 mins legs, abs, lower back (115)

Can't wait for my fitness game to come in the mail next week. I'm getting a little bored of the treadmill being the main source of my exercise.

mandalinn82 05-11-2007 11:00 PM

60 elliptical and feeling like a POWERHOUSE today. But I broke my shoe :-( Off to sports authority I go.

Diva 05-12-2007 03:09 PM

Walked 2 miles today up & down hills.

baffled111 05-12-2007 04:13 PM

20 minutes treadmill
15 mins elliptical
300 cals

I'm still having problems with stitches while I'm running. I've had one every day this week! Anyone have any clue how to prevent them? It's really beginning to interfere with my workouts.

I walked 4 miles up and down hills carry a backpack.
Then I swam laps for an hour. I was told 36 laps (across and back =1) is a mile.... So I guess I am going to say I did 5 miles today.... I am sooooo sore...

Question: Is swimming good for our tummy muscles too? They feel like they've been worked, so I am wondering if I should skip the crunches today?

baffled111 05-14-2007 02:07 PM

Swimming works *all* the muscles. It's great exercise. And of course it works your abs as well.

I haven't gotten to the gym yet--I'm going in about an hour--but I'm going to burn 350 cals on the treadmill and then do my arms, back and shoulders.

baffled111 05-14-2007 04:51 PM

As promised:
39 mins treadmill (350 cals)
25 mins upper body (125 cals)

Grumbleworts 05-14-2007 05:01 PM

A very good workout today!

34 mins treadmill (300 cals). I ran MUCH longer than I usually do today and did less walking. I actually managed a 7 minute stint at 6.5! Hooray! (I'm a 2-pack a day smoker, and I usually run out of lung power pretty quickly.)

25 mins legs, abs, lower back (144 cals).

While I was doing the leg press today, one of the trainers (who often helps me out and gives me advice) came up and added 25lb to the machine. I managed to finish all my sets with the extra weight, but, my lord! My legs feel as though they are made of jelly! I think I'm going to have trouble walking later :)

mandalinn82 05-16-2007 03:03 PM

44 mins treadmill (400 cals).
Taking a break from lifting today because I'm anticipating a very busy night of waitressing and will need my legs to be working properly.

New Milestone: I ran a mile today! Without changing speed at all--I stayed at 6.5 the entire time. I've never run a mile before. Yay me! :)

canarysong 05-18-2007 03:59 PM

40 mins - Treadmill

New workout dvds coming soon. Last time I'll have to force myself to use the treadmill, I hope!
