treadmill: 2.25 mile run; 1 mile walk

mandalinn82 02-16-2007 08:05 PM

Bah - so much with my "back with a vengeance" plan. Sick, sick, sick, so I'm trying not to push it too hard. Wednesday - 55 min on my rebounder, Thursday was a full-out sick day and I did nothing but sleep, and today, 55 min rebounder and maybe something else a bit later.

3fcuser1058250 02-16-2007 09:12 PM

No exercise for me today...Tomorrow a 10k run I think...

Mandalinn -- Get some sleep and drink your fluids and take a day or two break, it does a body good...

mandalinn82 02-16-2007 11:41 PM

45 min WATP (did you know they had these on Comcast OnDemand? Crazy!)

I just can't sit still, sick or not...but it wasn't too strenuous.

LisaMarie71 02-17-2007 11:22 AM

mandalinn, I hope you feel completely better soon! I think I'm FINALLY over my sickness.

Today I ran 3 miles (group run) and did 20 min strength training.

3fcuser1058250 02-17-2007 04:41 PM

8.69k run...

LisaMarie71 02-17-2007 08:11 PM

I bought a stability ball at Target today and it came with a 10-minute solution DVD. Did the 10-minute abs workout, and got a big reminder that I need to work on my core and my balance!

LisaMarie71 02-18-2007 08:26 PM

4-mile run and 60 min yoga DVD

mandalinn82 02-18-2007 10:10 PM

Still on my "not exactly going to the gym but still working out" kick while my cold subsides...1 hr 45 min roller skating (I totally brought out my inner kid - so fun - then fell over when I learned that, according to fitday, i burned more than at the actual gym!)

LisaMarie71 02-19-2007 06:34 PM

Roller skating sounds like so much fun, mandalinn!!

today: 55 min elliptical

mandalinn82 02-19-2007 11:48 PM

It WAS fun! Today I went 55 min on the elliptical.

LisaMarie71 02-20-2007 07:27 PM

mandalinn82 02-20-2007 07:59 PM

mandalinn82 02-21-2007 11:39 PM

55 min elliptical, 55 minutes UB/abs with trainer

baffled111 02-21-2007 11:48 PM

I'm going to join in the fun because I did an extra-good job today:

60 mins on the elliptical (usual)
30 mins jogging on the treadmill (bonus!)

I feel like a bit of a champ :) I've only been at this regular exercise for two weeks (after a very long work-out vacation) and already I'm amazed by the improvement in my general fitness. All the more so because I smoke 2 packs of cigarettes a day, and my lungs are in crummy shape. 90 mins of hard-core cardio is impressive (to me) under these conditions!

mandalinn82 02-22-2007 12:19 AM

Hey Baffled!

Welcome! Way to go on the super-champ workout!

mandalinn82 02-22-2007 12:20 AM

Ilene - I thought you actually meant "mind swimming" until I realized you were probably saying "mins swimming".

Did put some interesting ideas into my head of what mind swimming might be...

LOL. Now "mind-swimming" sounds like exercise I could really get into! In fact, I probably spend most of my time engaged in this already...When do I become skinny?!

dream girl 02-22-2007 03:11 PM

I'm sooooo impressed by everyone's workout!!!! And I'm afraid of getting sore muscles after 30 min. of working out!?!?! All I can say is "WOW". Keep it up. It sounds like everyone is doing very well. Tomorrow I'll start. Now I'm fixing a veggie soup with beans and fixing to sit down and hit the books for school tomorrow.

mandalinn82 02-22-2007 03:50 PM

Dream girl - when you start, post here with us! It REALLY helps me maintain my workout schedule when I know that the lovely ladies here notice if I'm not posting!

LisaMarie71 02-22-2007 08:04 PM

Welcome, baffled and dreamgirl!

I agree with mandalinn -- this thread really does keep you accountable. And I love reading what everyone else is doing. It's inspiring to see that everyone else is keeping up with their workouts too.

Today I ran 3 miles on the treadmill with speed intervals. Let me tell you -- there was a RIVER of sweat.

:welcome: baffled and dreamgirl :D

Keep posting here and we'll make exercise junkies out of you both!!

mandalinn82 02-22-2007 11:51 PM

It also put "night swimming" in my head..."mind swimming.....deserves a quiet mind...."

60 on the elliptical at a nice high resistance, with some nice high intensity intervals.

dream girl 02-23-2007 06:05 AM

Yes, Yes, Yes - I did. I got up and did 15 min. on the elliptical and 15 min free weights and situps and stretching. Just had to tell everyone. Gotta go. Check back later. Everyone have a great day and happy exercising!

mandalinn82 02-23-2007 12:13 PM

WTG Dreamgirl!

baffled111 02-23-2007 12:17 PM

Good job dream girl! 15 minutes is a great start. Your capacity for exercise will increase the more you do it.

I did an hour on the elliptical yesterday, for which I only give myself cursory credit. Today was going to be my day off from the gym, but after the Mexican food debacle last night (see the Food forum) and a dinner date with my bf at a restaurant tonight, I really should go today too. Ideally I'll do 90 mins of cardio, but I have quite alot to do today, so I'm not sure that I should devote so much time to the gym.

How's that for an ambivalent goal!

mandalinn82 02-23-2007 10:42 PM

55 min on the elliptical, steady pace, high resistance.

LisaMarie71 02-24-2007 07:50 AM

75 minute bodysculpting class

dream girl 02-24-2007 09:37 AM

21 min. on elliptical and 45 min of interrupted (by kids) weights and situps. I'm still eating healthy but maybe I could decrease the amount of food yet. I was able to stretch out so I don't get so sore and it makes me feel better too. I was feeling a bit guilty for not fixing breakfast for the kids, cleaning the kitchen, or doing homework. This is a problem for me. I need the support to put myself first so I can be a better mom. And taking 1 or 2 hours out of the day is good for me. (See how I'm trying to talk myself into not feeling so guilty) Instead, the kids got the cereal out and I had them do the dishes and clean the kitchen while I showered. Now I can go and hit the books.

LisaMarie71 02-24-2007 03:40 PM

4.25 mile run/walk (would've been all running but there were some CRAZY hills I just couldn't handle!)

I also did a 10-minute DVD segment on stretching with the stability ball. I felt all tense after the run and needed to elongate my muscles. Felt good.

LisaMarie71 02-25-2007 08:27 PM

35 minutes cardio kickboxing video
40 minutes stability ball workout (upper body, lower body, core, and flexibility)
60 minutes yoga DVD

3fcuser1058250 02-25-2007 09:14 PM

5.7k run
40 min swim :swim:

mandalinn82 02-25-2007 09:36 PM

Man, I did a 4.4 mi run this morning and it KICKED my butt directly to the floor. I thought it was going to be less, actually, but estimated my miles totally wrong in my head, and it was long and windy and cold.

I've never gone out and done a pavement run longer than 3.6 mi before, so I added considerable distance. It took about an hour, with a wicked headwind.

Also a 10 minute workout last night, teaching my mom how to use her new bosu and 8lb medicine ball - 2 sets each of lunges, planks on both the bosu and medicine ball, overhead raises with medicine ball while standing on bosu, etc.
