After im don exercising I dont really get hungry for about 1-2 hours after.
Also try drinking a tea spoon of vinegar. I tryed it and it works |
I drink a pot of coffee every morning after an hour of excersize... and that will get me safely thru until I get home from work --- and then my diet goes to $h!t - but thats all psychological and is totally another issue for me lately.
Also, fiber pills work pretty well too... |
I would not recommend the hour of exercise with the entire pot of coffee afterwards...that will dehydrate you. I am a coffee drinker as well-but you should really limit it to 2-3 cups max per day and be sure to drink a glass of water for every cup of coffee or caffienated drink that you have. This is in addition to the 8+ recommended glasses per day. Excessive caffeine consumption can cause potential health issues so it is something that you really want to consume in moderation.
When you crash from the caffiene rush-it is also having an effect on your blood sugar. This makes you more prone to binges, and may most likely play a part in your diet going downhill in the afternoons. |
Have a cup or two of a hot beverage, for some reason the warm liquid makes you feel fuller.
Also, it takes 20 minutes for your brain to acknowledge that your stomach has received food, so try & eat as slowly as possible. |
Congrtas to everyone with their weight loss. Those numbers are awesome! Where would I find the Eat Less or BIJA Tea or the other items mentioned? At GNC or such?
When I feel hungry, I eat a piece of fruit or some low fat cheese and a slice of turkey rolled together or just have a cup of black coffee. I have not had a soda or sweets since May 27th, so I do not crave those at all. I will have a sugar free popsicle or fudge bar on occasion. I also try to eat every 3-4 hours so I am not really starving all the time. But the weight is "stuck" and will not budge it seems. I read somewhere that it only takes 3 weeks to break a bad habit and it took about that long for the diet soda habit to be gone! |
You can get all kinds of teas @ the grocery store, as well as low sodium broth. I'd also recommend upping your fiber when you eat carbs--whole grains will keep you fuller longer. So maybe some crackers or a slice of whole grain bread w/your turkey/cheese roll. And a cup of hot tea or broth.

Yes-GNC carries mostly fad diet pills now...and little for the really health conscious. Health food stores are better-or if your grocery store has a health food section/aisle.
Flavored teas are great-you want to avoid the "diet teas" though...because all they are is tea with a laxative (senna) in them. Not good for your health. Regular flavored varieties are great though...to have "taste" without calories. |
Thanks! I think there is a health food store not far from work, so I will go check it out on my lunch break. I wouldn't mind trying the Eat Less fiber. I do drink flavored teas on occassion, especially in cooler weather.

i use the diet hot chocolat at night when i have a craving. it puts me to sleep and satisifies my stomach...kat

I use hoodia gordonii to suppress my appetite. It really does work, I don't care what anyone says. You still have an appetite at the appropriate times, but are only able to eat 1/3 to 1/2 of what you normally can eat. I have absolutely no side effects and I am the side effect queen. If there is a side effect I am the one who experiences it. You can find it at a health food store or on the internet.

What exactly is hoodia gordonii? Pill, drink, other? Just curious. I have problems when I get home after work....usually when I am cooking dinner.

I'm not sure about appetite supressants, but I know that once I cut out High Fructose Corn Syrup, my cravings dramatically decreased. If you take a good look at labels, it is in most things in the grocery store (even in so called "diet" foods). Cutting out this bad bad bad crap will also help ensure you are going for less processed foods. It takes a couple of days to break the cycle, but once you're off you'll feel so much better!
