But afterward I decided as a "break" I would do JM's Ripped in 30 and thought it would be easy, but it wasn't. JM's workouts use lighter weights but more reps, and often combine moves and just generally do things differently than P90X which created new challenges for my body. At this time, I do something different every day and I do P90X, Supreme 90 Day, JM Ripped in 30 and other workouts for variety and they are all hard and as long as I'm sore the next day I know they're working.
Agree with the above. Especially for your spouse on a plateau and your children P90X would be the way to go. I have not done the 30 day shread with Jillian but I have completed some of her other DVDs. I love P90X, and am currently on week 2. It's a killer but in a good way. If you want to start out slow especially given the time factor I would go with JM but I also think it would be a lot of fun and more motivating if you did P90X with your family. I am doing the Lean program which I think would be good for you too.
