I love my shapes ups got them at kohls with a 30% coupon and earned kohls cash on them counting the kohls cash was like half price for them

I wear special inserts in my tennis shoes, cause I have high arches. Would I still need to wear them in the Therashoes, or could I go without them?
|
I just bought a pair of Skechers Shape Ups today. Had a 10% off coupon from Sportchek (a Canadian chain of athletic stores). Haven't worn them out yet, but I'd had them on around the house and they are so comfy. My feet must have shrunk (or aren't as swollen as they were) cause I'm in 8.5 regular, and I used to wear anywhere from an 8.5 to a 9 wide. I would not have paid full price for them, and when I'm back in the US in September I may pick up a pair or two of the K-Mart brand. I almost got a pair of them last time I was there, but put them back at the last minute.

Payless has some. I bought a pair there for $40. They do feel different when walking. I dont know if they actually will do anything in the long run.

I won't spend $100 on shoes like that... but I did buy some "knock-off's" by RocketDog for $35 yesterday.
They are immidiately my favorite shoes... EVER. I love them. Yeah... they do take some getting used to... but since I often go walking around different places (especially when I'm in Europe), and sometimes don't have time to go for a run in the evening... so... these are great for me. And... they are so comfy too. :D I dunno... I just LOVE them. :) |
Anyone have the Therashoes from KMart? I've been walking in them for three or four days straight now, not very far, and my calves HURT. They start hurting when I've only walked about 1/16 of a mile! Am I just THAT out of shape, or is it the shoes working my muscles harder?
|
I bought the Sketchers "tone-ups" about 10 days ago and I found the first few times I wore them I could feel it in my legs too. I justified the pain by saying they force me to walk different - not because I'm out of shape :)
I love them!! Pam |
My boyfriend's mom is an Avon rep so I'm going to ask about the "Curves for Women Toning Trainers." By many accounts they're extra comfy, and even if they don't really tone it may just be the boost I need to take more walks. :)

And they look like they make you taller!!

I have a pair. I bought them not for shape up because they are pricey. I would never pay that much for a pair of shoes to see if it works in lieu of exercise, but I had a pulled tendon in my right heal. It had been hurting painfully for weeks. I couldn't walk on it very far and any exercise was out of the question. I was in the sporting goods store to price stationary bikes for exercise since it hurt to much to do a 20 min walk. I tried a pair on out of curiosity. And by the way they are designed I had no pressure on my heal. I could walk in this shoe with NO pain. I bought them. I told my hubby I can walk again and my foot has not bothered me since unless I go back to wearing my old shoes then after a few days the pain slowly comes back, but my foot is not completely healed as of yet. As for have they shaped me up, not at all. I have not felt any difference in my muscles. But I would buy them again just for the relief they have put on my feet.

I bought a pair a few months back. I tried them on at the store and everything seemed fine. Got home and went for a short walk up and down the street and nearly double over.
It maybe because I am flat footed but the amount of pain that it was causing my arch was insane. It felt like the arch of the shoe was stabbing into my foot. As far as shaping up, I couldn't be sure. |
I got my "Curves for Women Toning Trainers" last night and tested them out in the mall today. I don't know yet about working any muscles but they sure are easy on my feet! I think I'll have an easier time getting my walking in now. :)

shape up shoes
I always wanted to try the shape up shoes but did not want to pay $100. So when I heard that Target had a shoe called Trimstep for $27.00 I ordered them online because they didnt have my size in the store (I needed a size larger for some reason) but when they came I walked around on carpet first just in case I did not like them and I got use to them very quickly. Needless to say I love them. I dont know what the $100 shoe feels like the $27.00 shoe feels good to me and I am over 200lbs they give me more pep in my step and the knees and back feel good. My walking buddies has a pair of another brand I never heard of a gift to her so the price is unknown but she loves hers as well.

I have a pair of the sketchers shape ups - the Mary Jane style in black. NO they haven't made me lose weight ( I am doing THAT myself) NO they haven't toned my rear(another thing I"M doing). I got mine at DSW show warehouse for mother's day 2010. They are rather uncomfortable for everyday wear. I use my NB's for walking on the trail. I hardly wear them at all now as a matter of fact. The one PLUS that I can say about them is this - is you have plantar faciitis they are a welcomed relief . There is no pressure whatsover on your heels.

Somebody may have mentioned this already, but Earth shoes has an athletic shoe style, and they also stretch and pull on the calf. I really felt it the first few times I wore them. And they are not unstable at all. The shoes are a little on the wide side, and they are low profile. Your heel just goes down, like you are walking in sand, and you feel very 'grounded'. I've gotten so used to wearing Earth shoes and sandals, that it feels unstable to wear regular shoes. So for anybody feeling like they are wobbly on the Skechers, try Earth shoes. Not the 'earth brand' at Wal-Mart, but Earth brand. You can find them at Zappos and Gaiam, and locally at stores that carry specialized footwear like Birkenstocks, Merrell, Dansko, etc. They allowed me to completely heal from plantar faciitis, as well.
