I think it's a bad idea to take something like this to stay awake, although when one needs to make a living and has trouble staying awake on the job, it's easy to see why it's tempting.

It's the mixture of ingredients with the caffeine that would have me worried, plus I agree with the poster who said you never know what you are really ingesting.

In addition you don't know if you have hidden health problems that might contraindicate taking this product.

I sometimes get very fatigued during work assignments and think a sublinqual B complex helps my energy level in general, with little risk for side effects that I know of.

If green tea stopped helping you, would coffee help?

Maybe you can talk to your doctor for suggestions or to see if there are resons why you can't stay awake beyond being bored. That can be a symptom of some serious conditions.

Good luck.

I've used it plenty before a hard cardio workout to give me that extra kick. I love it, but I only drink 1/2 the bottle at a time. The grape flavor is the best tasting but they all are pretty icky tasting. I have not suffered any ill effects EXCEPT for the time I drank the entire bottle. I felt like I could run a marathon which quickly turned into a nauseated feeling. Drink only a small amount until you know how you body will react. I'm caffenie sensitive and can not stomach Red Bull. I'm great with 5-Hour Energy though!

My husband swears by it, he's a long haul truck driver and I tried just a sip of it once on a trip with him, it certainly gives you a boost!

It's just a slew of B vitamins. They're harmless. Actually, many weight loss surgery patients have to take B-12 weekly for the rest of their life. 5 hour energy doesn't really help me, but it's not horrible for you either. Just one thing to watch is that taking 5 hour energy in excess can raise your heart rate. I'm not sure if it reaches unsafe level or not, just be careful.
