Default Pituatary gland

Hi Have a question for those with hypo. My doc is sending me to an endo in a few weeks cuz I have been all over with the levels. He had mention that my pituatary gland may not be working?Hmmm Never heard of this and I am curious to see if any of you have experience this? I am going in a few weeks and I am sure they will test it but I would like to hear more about this.... The funny thing is I feel preety good. I am on cytomel which I love. My levels are low and I should be feeling like crap but I do not. I am gaing weight though And always hungry, yet I am still working out? Oh well that is my story always. Anyway let me know what you all know Thanks

I have heard of adrenal failure, but have not read much about pituatary gland problems. It is such a key gland, it would seem you would have lots of problems if it were not working correctly. Being hypo is the pits when it comes to trying to lose weight. I find it very hard to lose, and my levels are stable and good now. I suggest you do a search on Google for information. There are many medical sites that give lots of good information. Of course you need to keep in mind there can be bad information to be found too! Keep us posted! I hope the endo can help!

I've been hypo for many years. I do SB/WW Core and have had no problems with my weight. I work with a dietician as well. What you eat is very important and well as limiting "bad" carbs. There is no reason you can't lose if you exercise and eat healthy.

I agree that you can lose weight if you watch what you eat. However I have to disagree with you when it comes to low levels. If your levels are off than you have adifficult time losing the weight. I would love to get a nutrionalist once I am stable. Cong on your weight loss I am sure you worked very hard at it... I can not wait until I am there too.
