Fibromyalgia #136

Here's the new thread ... knock yourselves out.

I'm already about out. Only had less than 4 hr. sleep a night for the past 2 nights ... no naps and no rest periods. Its already 12 and I still have to take a shower yet. Have to be at the doctor's at 8:45 in the morning so I'm not going to get much tonight. Then I have a customer coming at noon to pick up a trailer so It'll be late before I can take a nap ... if I get one at all. I'm dead on my feet ... so I'm headed for the shower.

Mima 02-25-2005 07:55 AM

Will sure be interested to see what the doc says, Meme. Candice, you definitel need to go to urologist. You don't see the blood in the urine , it is microscopic.
Tammy-perhaps you can get one of the older children in the school to help you correct-or make a key for one two of your smarter students. Kids just love to help. Make sure they don't write any coments!! Kids love to help. You have to take good care after yor surgery. Then you only have to correct the important papers. Or get the kids to self- correct. No pencils with erasers allowed . Or switch papers. Just a few suggestions from an old lady who taught 34 years.
Brad went to the surgeon yesterday and he doesn't have to go back to him. He stills goes to the cardiologist. He can try driving-practice first. He had better do good!!! He also can walk to 2 miles a day-not today, it's pouring. Thank God-don't know what Cassidy will do. Bye for now, Mima

Joanne D 02-25-2005 11:25 AM

Hey There

Mima- It only sprinkled here yesterday. We are hoping for some real rain!Glad Brad is coming along nicely..take care of yourself.
Tammy- My daughter wishes she had someone to grade for her too. She teaches 1st grade after 20 years teaching 2nd. There is no teachers aides anymore. From everything I have heard and read it is difficult being a teacher in Fl. these days. They are very over worked. Too many chiefs and not enough indians. She is piled high with work every night and weekend. The summers are not much different. They line up their teachers with all kinds of workshops. This year my daughter and her hubby have a planned trip out west in their RV. I wonder what the chiefs will have to say..
Meme- I hope you get some rest this weekend. 12 midnight. I would just cancell the shower till AM. Just wash my face and possible.
Hello everybody..Have a Great Weekend...Joanne

eulac 02-25-2005 08:14 PM

Walked almost 2 miles today! Probably going to be sore tomorrow, but it was fun because I did it with a friend.

Other than that, just looking forward to the weekend with my sons, DH has to work.

MemeToo 02-25-2005 11:27 PM

Well .... I took my sugar readings for the last 3 weeks to my doctor. Almost all of them were in the low 80s ... a few in 70s, a couple in the low 90s and that one of 45 ... never broke a hundred the whole 3 weeks. And almost all were in the afternoon or evening after I had eaten a couple of times. He said they looked 'normal' to him. Said my body was doing what it was supposed to. He gave me an order to go to the hospital and have a glucose tolarance test done - but I don't think I'm going to go. He didn't seem at all concerned. He gave me an exam while I was there. He said, "You've lost quite a bit of weight, haven't you." I told him I've lost 40 pounds. He laughed and said, "That's hard work, isn't it ... dieting is always hard?" I was soooo aggravated. I have told him at least 4 times in the last year that I was losing weight without really trying and was concerned. I just said - kind-of mad-like, "No doctor, it wasn't at all hard ... I didn't do anything at all ... it just fell right off me with absolutely no effort on my part." He didn't say one word ... just went right on with the exam like I hadn't even spoken. I'm like Candice ... sometimes I wonder why I even go to the doctor. :?: At least he refilled my prescriptions for the next YEAR ... guess he doesn't want to see me again for awhile! ;)

Mima 02-26-2005 05:24 AM

That blood test shows your level from the last 3 months-might be worth it, Meme. Brad's sugar is under control again. Just an extra half pill. But then we went to Dairy Queen last night and met Mike etc and he had an ice cream cone. So did I-after we ate dinner of course. We are having a hard time finding places to eat because it's so crowded this time of year. And I don't eat meat on Friday. It's not much of a sacrafice because I love fish. I have been awake since 3 am. I need a nap before breakfast.
This is so funny. Brad got a call yesterday from his cousin Sandy WHO IS STAYING DOWN THE STREET FROM US IN THE SAME PARK!! They stopped in to visit. They were here in Jan but we never saw them but they were reading the newsletter and saw our names-knowing that we were in Ft Myers. Too funny. They live in Wells ME but she and Brad grew up together.
How is the Zelnorm, Candice. I wouldn't dare take any new pills ut I have often thought about that med. Metamucil every night is my med and it works most of the time. And lactaid when I have a milk product.
Meme-maybe you should see a new doctor. Brad's doc at home is not very aggressive when it comes to his treatment but the one down here is. He's the one that had him stay in the hospital-they were going to send him home. And he's the one that sent me to a urologist. Although, the one I have at home is good. We have had to pay some medical bills but I got a letter from the insurance that said they would cover the 83, 500 dollar bill for the hospital. Thank God!!! Bye for now Mima

Candicej 02-26-2005 07:01 AM

Just lost my post! ?Arghhhhh!

Here is a link to a pictue of my son and another med student......

http://www.joleschorders.com/stf.asp...92&ID=12863283

Mima..that Zelnorm is wicked!!!!!!!! Bad bad headache and anxiety, like taking speed or effedra and made my indegestion really bad too! I'm not going to take it anymore!

Meme..you should have told the doc you were not trying...they are supposed to ask you that!

Who is Eulac????????

Joanne..that is why I am not teaching any more!

MemeToo 02-26-2005 02:28 PM

I DID tell him I'm not trying ... FOUR or FIVE times now. He just doesn't get it ... or doesn't care one! As for the test ... I realize it tells the sugar count for 3 months. I know what kind of test it is. I'm tired of all the tests. He seems to think the readings for the last 3 weeks have been normal and I don't really care anymore. I'm about ready to just give up ... on doctors, on tests, on medicine ... on all of it. I am what I am and I have what I have and that's that!

MemeToo 02-26-2005 02:31 PM

P.S. Your son and that girl look so much alike they could be brother and sister.

Tammy 02-26-2005 03:01 PM

Mima, I do have a high school student that does quite a bit for me. It's many the cursive writing part that I have to grade on my own. That is too funny about Brad's cousin being right there!!!

Joanne, it's amazing what the administration expects teachers to do on their own time. It is definitely not an 8-3 job! I'm always at school by 7:15, and I rarely leave before 4:00. When I do leave school, I'm still not finished. I have paperwork every night to work on. We are in the process of developing a new grade card. The one that all of the teachers like is 1 page, there is a section for each subject, a place for a grade and a checklist for skills taught in that subject. The principal likes one that is 3 pages long and includes the state standards. Who has to do these things? The teacher or the principal? We showed the samples to some parents and they all groaned when they saw the 3 page one. One mother said that with having 4 children, she doesn't have time to look through all of that. The principal will probably get his way. He is the boss you know. Just ask him!

Mime, I think I'd be thinking about changing doctors. He should have remembered that you hadn't been trying to lose all of the weight. I think I would go ahead and get the glucose test done if I were you. It can give you quite a bit of information.

Joanne D 02-26-2005 07:44 PM

Hey There

Tammy- And to top it off my daughter is grade team leader. She asked a teacher for some assist this week. She said that the grade leader always did everything before. My daughter emailed her the definition of team to her.. She says she has enough to do and with all the added work she plans to try not do this next year. The other teachers in her group just put in their 8 hrs and go home. My daughter is usually there around 7 am and never leaves till 5 pm or so.This is just a small part of the problems in this school. My daughter would transfer but she lives in a rural area and she would have many more miles to travel. And there is no telling if another school would be any better. She has been here 20 years. There was a big shakeup there last year and a new adminstration came in. It was bad before. It is not any better this year.I told her to hit the lotto and then thumb her nose to them.
It has been a real quiet weekend in this house. Boring really..My son and his new wife are coming for lunch tomorrow. I will cook a greek soup(chicken egg lemon)for them. Salad and whatever to go with it..It is supposed to be raining and cool. so I guess that might be a good choise..
Bye and hello everybody...Joanne

Tammy 02-26-2005 10:43 PM

Joanne, tell your daughter that I'm thinking of her! We all need to stick together. With that many years in, she would have problems getting a job elsewhere unless she can coach. That's the way it is around here, anyway. I can't wait till I am out of there. I still love the kids, but the other crap that goes on is so stressful.

Have fun with the newlyweds tomorrow!!! Call me, and I'll sing for them since I didn't get to sing at the wedding.

Mercifully 02-26-2005 11:18 PM

LOL, I'm going to jump in here, ladies! I looked at this thread because of the Fibromyalgia title...do ya'll have it? I do too, and with your talk of how tough it is for school teachers, I'm fearful! In 2 years, the last of my 4 children will start school. I was thinking that being a teacher was a good job for me to do and still be able to be with my children. With too much work, I wonder if my fibro will withstand the stress!

Candicej 02-27-2005 04:46 AM

Merci..teaching is not a profession for the person with fibro..IMHO I used to teach and had to give it up due to the fibro....I am a perfectionest (then and still a little) and it was a a never ending job for me, even when school was not in session I was always doing something for my classroom!

Meme...put your saying on your tombstone and then say I told you I was sick! I thought they looked alike too! I was trying to imagine their children! Ha!

Mima 02-27-2005 06:00 AM

Good morning-glad I didn't try the Zelnorm!!!I feel crappy-been eating stuff I am allergic to and we are supposed to got to church this am.
When I left teaching in MA, I had 26 students and 10 had IEPs and and they were so awful. I couldn't take the stress. But that was the end of the story. MA has these very strict standards and if your school doesn't do well, the principal could get fired. It was nuts and it still is. teaching wasn't fun any more. I came down with IBS when I taught the 4th grad that had the big test-pressure all the time. Then I moved to 5th-I was an excellent teacher, always got a good review, but it wasn't worth it. Maybe for someone young-I was glad when my daughter changed her mind-she had no patience. But now I tutor when I ma home and I love that.
We got some news yesterday-the couple that is suppposed to come help us drive home is dealing with their own health issue. She is having a stress test Tues and I think they see something to question. about her heart. WE'll see-I hope for her sake that it is something that can be fixed easily and I hope for our sake, that we can make it home-not for 2 months. WE can always ship the car home. No problem next year-one vehicle, no camper. Brad said I could drive one home. In your dreams!!! I would have IBS before I left Ft Myers. And my own stress issues.
Boy, is it raining. Thunderstorms coming-the dog will go nuts. Bye Mima ps-Candice, Eulac is Erica and she has that cute baby. Hi Erica!!!

eulac 02-27-2005 01:41 PM

Hi Mima! Yeah, eulac is my user name (it's easy for me to remember and usually no one has ever chosen it on any site). I'm pretty new, as you can see by my number of postings, but I have FMS and a number of other issues so I've been hanging out on these threads. So far the support and friendship has been great.

I went for another walk yesterday with my oldest son, he rode his bike and I pushed the baby in the stroller. I'm not sore or anything right now either so I'm feeling pretty good about stuff. I finished Gullo's "The Thin Commandments" and I feel pretty good about his theories of strategy. I think that's where I've been failing. I can do a diet, no problem, but I don't use any strategies when I face issues with food and I lose every time. In his "Thin Tastes Better" he gives you exercises to work through so you can figure out your problem foods, situations, etc..., which, for me, is good because otherwise I'd just say ALL FOOD is my problem.

I know one thing I have to do, though, is cut back on my work. I'm not a teacher (but I can see where that'd be hard on someone with FMS), but I tend to work about 5 hours plus overtime every week and I can't keep doing that with a new baby and stay healthy. I had to take a psychological day last week and I just piled me and the baby in the car and went for a drive in the mountains. I have to keep myself from getting to that point or I'll definitely have relapses.

I just wanted to also say thanks to everyone for being here.

Tammy 02-27-2005 08:13 PM

Merci, I was relatively healthy until a year ago. Now it is so hard to make it through most days at school, and then still have things to do on the homefront. A friend of mine in Arizona had to quit because her health was so bad. I only have 2 years left until I retire, so I'm trying to hang on. I told the superintendent and the principal that if I felt bad, I was staying home. I really haven't practiced that though. I hate to miss. I know that I am not and can not put forth as much effort as I have for years. I just don't have the strength.

Mima, hope things work out ok for your friend.

MemeToo 02-28-2005 01:52 AM

Ericka ... I know exactly what you mean about getting in the car and driving off ... I feel like doing that sometimes, too, and I don't even have little kids at home! I don't do it though, I'm afraid I wouldn't come back!!! ;)

These customers are driving me absolutely NUTS! They pull in the driveway and, if I don't see them immediately, they honk the horn or use the cell phone and call the house. I go out and they stand out there and talk and talk and talk. They walk around and look at every trailer out there. I swear, you'd think they were buying a $100,000 house or something instead of a $700 or $800 utility trailer. Meanwhile, I'm freezing my butt off (or getting wet!) Then they say they have to go measure their tractor or they have to think about it or they have to ask their wife or some such excuse and off they go. Sometimes they come back 2 or 3 times! Then I get the old men who have nothing else to do with their day and tell me their whole life story. And I especially hate it when they call me 'little lady' or 'hon'! Want to smack their redneck faces soooo bad! Or one like the nut last week who bought one on Thursday and decided Friday that wasn't the one he wanted so he called (for the sixth time in three days) and wanted to bring that one back and trade it. I said OK. He came back, I redid all the paperwork, switched trailers and got him on his way. He called back an hour and a half later and said that one "bounced" too much. I said it was a small 'tilt' trailer with NOTHING in it ... what did he expect. He just didn't like the way it 'felt'. I was soooooo sick of this man! (He was a minister!!!) I finally said, "Sir, I tell you what. I have your check here, you just bring that trailer right on back down here and I'll be just HAPPY to give you your check back." I was never so glad to see anybody driving OUT of my driveway in my life! I tell you ... they're KILLING me! I told my husband, when I earn a commission ... I REALLY EARN IT! :p And the Home Show is next weekend ... he rented a booth in that. My phone won't stop ringing for months after that is over! Then comes the fair ... he always rents a booth in that, too. Kind-of dread this summer. I should probably just take the summer off from teaching! I'm not sure I can handle both! I just finished a devotion on "Longsuffering" not long ago ... guess I need to go back and read it again! :p Maybe Ericka and I can run away together - just for the summer ... but ... you'll have to leave the babies at home ... even as cute as they are!

I'll show you a picture of my four one of these days (if I can get them all still enough to take a new one!) :D I have 4 grandchildren: Garrett: 9, Ross: 8 Kaylyn: 7, and Jenna: will be 6 in 2 weeks ... she's 6 going on 16 - while Kaylyn is a tomboy who doesn't like boys - Jenna is a Princess sporting no less than FOUR boyfriends! Below is a picture taken a couple of years ago.

Candicej 02-28-2005 04:22 AM

kaylyn looks just like you Meme..she is the one in with dark hair right? Hitch up one of those trailers and we will all grab on and run away! :D

Bad pelvic pain form sitting too long..................:(

Mima 02-28-2005 08:34 AM

Candice-go to the urologist!!! I have no pain anymore. Just an opinion!! WE had quite a day yesterday-Sunday school , church, and then out to eat with our new friends. That was the best so far. I feel better today-allergies!! Gotta go to Superwalmart-it takes me a long time because I need stuff on both sides of the store. Meme, when you are selling something, people are a pain. When we were selling the condo, I couldn/t take it anymore so we got a realtor. Hi everyone. mima

MemeToo 02-28-2005 02:50 PM

A lot of people think Kaylyn (yes ... the one with the dark hair) looks like I do now, but actually, Jenna looks almost exactly like I did when I was her age. I have an 8X10 picture of me at that age and we held it up to her school picture Christmas and the resemblance was uncanny. We could have been twins. My hair was blonde then and I have blue eyes ... hers are blue/grey. I said, "PLEASE tell me I didn't ACT like that!" Everything in her closet is pink (excues me ... pinkT in Jennese) :D And she is so PRISSY! Hair clips, rings, frills and lace .... that's my Jen! Kaylyn would rather be down on the ground wrestling with the dog! (which Jenna runs from!) I think I fell somewhere inbetween the two. :p

Can you believe it's supposed to snow here tonight? :?: I'm achy!

Mima 03-01-2005 06:17 AM

You are too cute, meme. All my grammar school pics were in black and white!!!Yes, you do look alike. My baby pics have the same look as Evan and Alison. I have a weird pain in my left foot-the same kind I had before it was found that I was allergic to dairy. And I have been so achy. Must be careful. I didn't tell you but I went to killer yoga class for 2 weeks. The woman doesn't understand that you go slow with older people. I had a yoga teacher at home that was awesome. I'll have to stick to swimming and walking. There is another exercise class Friday-maybe.
Listen tothis. The two couples that we are friendly with from church keep asking if they can do anything so I asked if they would help with the yard. I certainly can't carry bags of dirt, stone and mulch. WE could hire someone but Brad said it would be a blessing for them. The guys came yesterday and did the job-some of our new grass didn't grow in spots and so we were told to put a little new dirt down. And they also put more rocks in the front and mulch!! And they looked happy to do it. It only took a couple of hours!!!We said we were gong to take them out to lunch next Sunday. They don't want us too but we will.
Doctor's today but Brad can drive. That's a blessing in itself. Our life is getting back to nrmal and the surgery was only 3 weeks ago. It's snowing at home too.Don't miss that. Any school today, tammy. Bye for now Mima

Tammy 03-01-2005 08:15 AM

SNOW DAYS ARE WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It started snowing yesterday afternoon, and all night I kept hoping that we'd be on a delay this morning. I got my call at 5:45 for the delay. Thought that was great. At 7:30, I got the call that said we are CLOSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm as bad as the kids!!! We don't have as much snow as some places, but the roads are icy. We've only missed 2 days this year, now 3. We are allowed up to 5 before we start having to make up days. I think we'll be pretty safe at this point.

I have Girl Scout cookies in my room at school. Wonder if I should drive to school and get them? I'm hungry for a Thin Mint. lol

Meme, your customers sound interesting! You could write a book about your experiences. cute picture of the grandchildren and you!!

Mima, so nice for those people to help out. You can take me for lunch if they don't want to go, OK?

Candice, go to the doctor. That is an order young lady!!

MemeToo 03-01-2005 10:42 AM

THAT'S NOT ME ... THAT'S JENNA AND KAYLYN!!! TOO FUNNY!

P.S.
No school here either ... that means no piano lessons and I don't have Garrett and Kaylyn this afternoon ... Hallelujah!!!

Tammy 03-01-2005 12:42 PM

LOL That is too funny! Anyway, they're adorable!

Tim has drum lessons at 3:30 today. I'm thinking about riding with him. Traffic seems to be moving steadily past our house, so maybe he'll be fine without me there to bug him about his driving.

Joanne D 03-01-2005 07:46 PM

Hey There

Well the Dr appt. was a bust. My col.,trig. and sugar is up. I guess all that valentine chocolate did it.  I am back on the red yeast rice and coq10.. I hunted down a discount vitamin store today. I saved about &10.00. Ofcourse ,I was getting the lecture from the hubby. I caught him trying to throw out a lot of stuff in the fridge. I said not on your life. Everything in there is fat free anyhow. More fun!!
You girls enjoy your day or so of freedom.. Winter should be winding down. We should be cool tonight. Low 40's..
Do any of you watch 24 or House on the fox network? I am trying to get my hubby to watch other things besides news stations.. I don't much care for the comedy series. A good movie now and then. They usually come on at 9 pm and he doesn't want to stay up that long..Although he does like the award shows..He ran the projectors in the local movies all through college and many years while the kids were growing and a second job was needed. Teachers in Fl. didn't make a lot of money then, Well, they still don't.So he is real enterested in the movie industryand the actors.
Walked about 2+ miles at the beach today. I hope to do it more often now that the weather is getting better. My sister Mary was with me..She loves to talk about herself mostly.. I don't talk much when I am walking.. I usually go alone with my cd player. It helps to clear my mind.
Tammy- I love those thin mints too. I hope my daughter doesn't buy a bunch from her students. They usually end up at my house. I have no control..
Meme.- I would not be so nice to picky men..
Mima-Nice to get back to normal. Before you know it you will be staying down here 9 minths out of the year. That is what my sister has started doing.. She may only go back for a month or so this summer..
Hello everybody...Joanne

MemeToo 03-02-2005 04:25 AM

Joanne ... I like to watch all the CSIs ... except CSI:NY ... I don't like that one. I like CSI, CSI:Miami and NCIS ... I also like Without A Trace and Judging Amy. I don't think I know the two you mentioned. I'm not crazy about sitcoms ... they aren't as good as they used to be. I kind-of like Raymond and Two-and-a-half Men. I loved Friends when it was on and still watch the reruns. I'm not really into reality shows but I just recently started watching The Amazing Race, Fear Factor and Survivor some ... mainly because there isn't anything else on! But the new show that has really caught my attention comes on Friday nights at 9 (here). Numbers. It's really good! We'll have all 4 of the rugrats overnight on the 12th and the movie Pacifier is coming on here the 8th. It looks like it might be a good one to take them to.

Joanne D 03-02-2005 10:43 AM

Hey There

Meme- I watch the csi shows too although I haven't seen the NY one.It is cool here today. I am in the middle of washing clothes. I remember the days when I had to do the family wash on a rubboard..Then you hang them all on a line, then everything had to be ironed..Very few remember those days.
Hello everybody...Joanne

Happy Canuk 03-02-2005 08:22 PM

Hi guys. I think I am finally starting to get over this flu. Have been on antibiotics since Friday, and that has really helped get the cough under control. Just still really tired.

I like CSI and NCIS, but I don't like Miami or New York CSI. They are to darn gory for my taste. I much prefer the Law and Order shows.

Meme - I started watching the Amazing Race about 3 series ago and I quite enjoy it. That pulley thing they slid down last night looked like a lot of fun. The kids are sure growing. I can't believe that Ashley will be 7 here in April. Time sure goes fast.

Mima - I hope you are feeling better and not letting the anxiety get to you to much. This, of course, make IBS worse as well as FM and probably every other thing. Brad is coming along wonderfully well.

Joanne - Glad you are able to get out walking again. That is nice. I have just felt so crappy for the past 2 months, that I haven't felt like doing one thing. I need to get busy.

Tammy - I hope you enjoyed your snow day. We don't have those here, or they would be closed all winter

Hi Candice - I hope you have been to see the Dr. about that abdominal pain again. It shouldn't be there unless there is a reason.

Everybody enjoy the evening. I am going to watch American Idol.

Tammy 03-02-2005 08:45 PM

The snow day was great! Last night about 10:30, I received a call that we were on a 2 hour delay for this morning! That was nice knowing ahead of time. I know there were lots of accidents on the icy roads. At least in the daylight, you can see the bad spots.

This was a no break day at school, so I was pooed out at the end of the day. I go back to the surgeon in the morning, so I had to stay after to get things ready for a sub. Hope the kids behave! I'll go in at lunchtime, so I'll get to talk to the sub before he/she leaves.

Candicej 03-03-2005 04:17 AM

Joanne..I watch House...I like the crabby doc with the cain! Love medical mysteries, there is one on nbc too called medical investigation I like. I love ncis..my fav....lots of others too .......

Had my GI endoscospy done all went well and I woke up with no pain for once! I guess I need to be put out more often! LOL Do you all have the same effect from anethesia? Now I have my eye apoointment next so no time for a urologist and I think I will see my gyno first and ask her opinion if it does not let up...but it did for awhile with the anetheisa! I'm thinking it is a low back nerve pain thing that is heighted by the Fibro and they can't do anything about it??????

Meme..cute pictures.......I knew those were not of you! LOL Your babies are growing up..they will be dating soon!;)

Happy...glad you are getting better..did your yeast thing clear up yet?

Tammy.....I have some thin mints here..I will take a bite for you!

Mima..how nice of that couple to help you out...I need someone like that!

Mima 03-03-2005 06:07 AM

Good morning. I was happy to see my credit card payment arrived on its due date-checked on the net-mailed it 8 days ago. Went to church last night-it's so great to have our life back. And not cook on Wed night. And see our friends, only found out that 2 are sick-hope it's not that nasty virus. Alison's play is this week-that will be fun. I think Brad can go.
Hope they get to the "bottom" 0f everything, Candice. I am still so sore-it's unbelievable and I'm not going to Yoga. I guess I will get another massage-that sure helped. I wonder if it's the lounge chair I sit in. Hey-Vonzell made it-one more week!!Gotta put the rubbish out. Then I will take a nap. Mima

Hey There

Candice- That crabby Dr. is why I watch the show. If you have been put to sleep in the hospital and have back/arm pain don't be surprised. The way they transfer a sleeping /dead weight patient is enough to get the pains.
Happy- The flu has been nasty all over the world this year.Glad you are feeling better. That is one of the reasons I wait for days I can open my windows and air out the house. Germs just drift around all winter.
Mima- Getting back to normal.Looks like we may have to wait another year to get together.. I know you must be as busy as I am. Enjoy what you have left of Florida.
Tammy- I don't know about you, but, I can do without Dr. appointments.I wait for almost 30-40 min. in the waiting room, then they put you in an exam room and you wait another 30+ min. to see a Dr. for 5+ min.
Hello everybody..Joanne

DATING???

Jenna (the blonde) already has FOUR boyfriends! We can wait awhile on the dating thing. Kaylyn will probably get her's in a headlock! ;)

I've been running around trying to get everything together for the Home Show this weekend. I dread this soooo bad. It's a lot of work! It's supposed to be cold and rainy so we had to pay out a bunch of extra money and move our booth inside. BIG booth! That means a lot of extra stuff we need that we didn't have. I still need to pick up signs and go run about 1,000 copies and I HAVE A FLAT TIRE!!! Hubby called a few minutes ago and said he'd come home early and change it for me ... I told him if he did that he was going to town and help me run all those copies! :p (Maybe I can get a Red Lobster dinner out of him ... I deserve it this week!) I sat in the kitchen last night and COUNTED over 2000 jellybeans for one of the contests we are doing. THAT'S A LOT OF JELLYBEANS!!!!!!! I have them in a jar and the kid (16 and under) that comes closest to guessing the exact amount each night wins a MacDonald's Happy Meal ... runner-up gets a Baskin Robbins Ice Cream.

Well ... back to work!

Mima 03-04-2005 07:17 AM

So who gets to eat the jelly beans? Yum!! Man, I had a wicked stomache ache last night-I had made stew and put cabbage in it but I didn't eat the cabbage -wonder if that did it. I feel ok. Cassidy is getting groomed today and we are going to Al's play tonight. . And the bank to close out one acct because we opened one at th ebank in front of the park that I can walk to, Such a boring life but it feels good to be back to normal.
Joanne-if I came to meet you, hubby would have to drive so I guess it will have to wait. We are going to be here in October and there is bound to be a train show up your way. How is Eleni doing?
Your show sounds busy Meme. Have fun!!! We need one of those small trailers=at least Brad thinks we do but I don't want to pull anything. Once we get the camper home, I don't want to go anywhere we can't get to on a tank of gas. It's such a pain to get gas with the camper!!
Hey Tammy-it's Friday. It finally stopped raining here and it's going to get warmer. Our snow dog is the only one who likes the cold weather. Bye for now-Mima

Tammy 03-04-2005 10:22 AM

It's Friday, and I'm home from school! I was up most of the night coughing, so I decided to stay home and sleep. I don't have much of a voice, so I'm resting that too!

I've done some laundry and worked on some things for school.

Now I'm hungry for cabbage after reading your post Mima!!

Morning all.

Meme - have fun at the show this weekend. That ought to keep you out of trouble.

Mima - glad you are back to normal. That just feels so good. When do you leave to go back home? I have to laugh at all of you when you talk about cold weather  I guess it is all relative to where you live. You would think you were freezing here, but in reality, it is beautiful. It has been up in the high 40's all week.

Joanne - again I have to laugh. If I lived in Florida, my windows would never be closed!!! Gosh, even when it is really cold here, I open the windows. I haven't had to close them for a whole week!

Tammy - I hope you aren't getting the flu. It's just too nasty.

Candice - are you still feeling less pain? I hope you decide to go see about it soon.

Well everybody have a good day. I am finally feeling better.

Anne, glad you are feeling better!!! I rested quite a bit yesterday and I still was able to chaperone the band to contest last night. I didn't have a voice, so that was a bit tough on the bus with all of the kids, but it worked out. Especially since they got a 1 rating and now they get to go to the state contest the end of April!!!

The 1.5 hour bus ride each way wasn't nice to me though. I was hurting pretty bad when we got home at midnight.

Today I plan to go to school and work on lesson plans for next week. I have no idea what all the sub accomplished yesterday, but I'm hoping she kept them on track.

upper 40's sounds good right now. It's about 18 and snowing. Today is my son's 17th birthday. When he was born, I went into labor a month early. My hubby wasn't home and I couldn't get ahold of anyone so I called the rescue squad. They came to get me, and the squad got stuck on the ice in our driveway. The weather is about the same today. Memories! lol

I like to have my windows open too. I think I'm the only one in the house that does.

Mima 03-05-2005 07:14 AM

Good morning!! Our dog looks like a lion!!! To cute! We keep the fur around his face but get the rest cut short so he won't pant all the time. We are not going home til after the 15th of April. We are still waiting to hear if our friends are coming down to help us-she has a health problem yet to be detrmined. The worst case scenario is to have our car transported and just drive the camper.
Saw Al in her play-The Comedy of Errors updated to the 50's-she was a Beatnik, dancing in her wheelchair-one hand wheeling and the other snapping he fingers. What a kid!! And Evan is starting to talk. Wanted to know where his backpack was only it wasn't as clear as that. I am making him a wuilt-just hand quilted. Doing his room in Noah' Aek theme. I had bought a pair of drapes at a flea market for 1 dollar so I have the material. I also bought some fabric yesterday to make a valance for my living room but now I have to find a rod 120 inches long and extend 6 inches out to go over vertical blinds. Hope you feel better Tammy. That bug is nasty-our friends from church have it. My theory is to take zinc.Bye for now> Mima

Tammy 03-05-2005 10:23 AM

The play sounds good! Glad you enjoyed it Mima. You are so good about making things and finding bargains. way to go!

I went back to bed after sending messages earlier. More sleep did me some good I think. Now I'm ready to tackle the day!! Maybe.
