Wooooooooooo, I need a getaway like that!!!! Next time invite all of us!

Mima, I wish that WalMart was friendlier! The one here is great! I've liked it even since it opened. they are always so helpful. The good looking guy in the seafood/meat department is awesome. He even brought me some orange roughy and shrimp yesterday.
He better not be that nice to all of his customers, or I'll make him sleep in the garage!!

MemeToo 02-17-2005 12:21 AM

I like Wal Mart ok but I never did like their pharmacy. I quit them years ago because it took way too long to fill scripts and because they didn't always have the meds. I needed. I use CVS here ... either phone or email my regular drugs in ahead of time and then just go to the window and pick them up. If I have a new script, I drop it off on my way into town shopping and pick it up on my way out or drop it off one day and pick it up the next. I hardly ever wait on medicine. I have mine planned to where I can get them filled at least a week early and if they don't have them ready when I get to the window, I just drive away and leave them until the next time I'm in town. Only time I wait is if somebody has the flu or something and has just come from the doctor's office with a new prescription and HAS to have it right away and I'm headed home (which very rarely ever happens).

Well ... my ankle was almost completely healed. Then last week happened. I was up on my feet WAY too much last week. Went to Nashville one whole day ... 12 hours worth. Then had that Couple's Garden thing. Days of preparation there. Did too much and now I'm paying for it. I've gone backward at least a whole month. Going to have to go back to bed for a few weeks. Makes me so mad. I've had this thing for a year now. I don't think it's ever going to go away!!! :(

It's so cold ... I've been freezing all day. And it's supposed to rain tomorrow. A real good, feel good day. (Real good for staying in bed!!!)

Candicej 02-17-2005 03:23 AM

Still busy with mom's stuff and overdid on exercise the other day and you know the drill...Pain city! I'm with Meme..where's spring minus the storms please???????

Mima 02-17-2005 05:37 AM

Come to Fl-the weather is awesome every day . But it is Spring here which causes asthma in me-but I am better. DIL mother and significant other came to visit and she brought flowers I am allergic to. Brad now can walk the dog-Good thing the dog is 14!!!. And I am having a stomache attack-IBS? Probably ate too much fruit. I lost 3 pounds on hubby's diet. Boy, have his taste buds changed. He doesn't like perked coffee-etc-etc. Now that I think of it-that's funny about the dog being old so Brad can walk him. What loyalty!!! Candice, it must be sad to go through those pics!
OK-I am still paranoid about this bleeding thing. I keep thinking I see blood but I read that the antibiotic causes the urine to be brown. I think I will get another urinalysis done soon. I guess it;s because last week Doc said there was a lot of blood and I am worried about getting anemic. He said it was from cystoscopy but that was 3 weeks ago. I don't like to feel this way.
Are you recovered from the wedding Joanne? Bye for now-going to do another search on the net. Mima

Tammy 02-17-2005 08:41 PM

Hello all. Just stopping in to read and say hi. We had conferences tonight after school, then I had a band booster meeting. Just got home and I'm pooed and going to bed very soon.

We have snow again. I want spring!!!

Candicej 02-18-2005 01:44 AM

Mima..I must have msised the cytoscopy..what did it show and was it painful cause they wanted me to have one and I refused!

Tammy..I remember thaose conferences, are parents better these days or worse thingking their kids are all smart angels! ha! Snow...keep it!

Ate some chocolate and made bean soup.............

Mima 02-18-2005 05:55 AM

Hi -The cystoscopy showed that I had a urethral diverticulum which can get infected. You are the first one I thought of when I started going through all my stuff and I definitely think you should have one. The cystoscopy wasn't bad-just the tissue sample. I am on microdantin for the rest of my life but it doesn't seem to cause yeast. Acyually, the cystoscopy can make you feel better in the long run. Sometimes they remove the diverticulum but Doc didn't think he needed to. Why shouldn't I have one there-I have them everywhere else.
Well-I went to a yoga class yesterday and I was careful but she is very intense. I will really have to watch it. Of course I am sore but I am in really bad shape. I felt energized and I slept through the night. But the best is that I am getting a massage tomorrow. He comes to the house. I hope it works out because I usually go to a woman. Brad will be here but I will have to tell hm that he can't talk while I get the massage.
Brad is doing well but he sleeps a lot. He might be a bit depressed. We are going to the bank this am and tonight we might go out to eat-nothing far. I get nervous with him in the car. He is fragile.
Tammy-TGIF. But I was always exhausted on Sat-rested on Sun and then back. Bye for now. Mima

MemeToo 02-18-2005 01:32 PM

Mima ... glad everything is working out for you. Brad may be a little depressed. Most people go through a period of 'the blues' after major surgery ... and after a death in the family, too. It takes a while for your body to adjust ... give him his space and a little time and he'll be his old self again soon. I should know ... been there and done both enough times. People think you should just bounce right back but it takes a little adjustment time and the older you get the harder it is to 'bounce'. :p

I had a bit of a scare yesterday. I got busy cleaning and forgot to eat. I was working on 'my' side of the house all morning ... decided to give my bathroom a good scrubbing and cleaned out from under my sink. Well, then I went over to hubby's side around one and started ... got on the back side of his bed and fell into the wall. I caught myself and thought at first I just stumbled. Then I fell into the window seat and decided it was something else. I noticed an hour or so before that my fingers were going numb and by then my hand was numb and I was really tired so I decided to take my sugar count. It had dropped to 45. I went in the kitchen and scarfed down a bunch of carbs ... choc. cake, banana pudding, cheese cake and potato chips. Waited about an hour and took it again ... that got it up to 114. I HAVE GOT TO REMEMBER TO EAT!!! Guess I'll have to start leaving myself little post-it notes all over the house that say 'EAT'! :o :eating2:

Joanne D 02-18-2005 07:20 PM

Hey There

Mima- I remember one of the things the Dr. told my hubby after his heart bypass.Don't become a heart cripple.. That is so easy for men/women to do. He needs support but there are things he can do and not harm himself. It has been 10 years now and he can do most things he "wants to". He trys to give me excuses why he doesn't do a lot. I try to not let him get away with it. Even though he may not do what I suggest I still let him know he isn't fooling nobody but himself.. Don't get yourself sick trying to take care of him..It is good for him to do somethings that his Dr. approves. The Dr. usually says "do what ever you feel like doing".
Meme- I need to forget to eat. But it sounds like you need a time clock..Regular meal times.Take care of yourself like you take care of your family..
Hello everybody...Joanne

MemeToo 02-19-2005 01:57 AM

I went to the store tonight (first time grocery shopping in 2 weeks) :o and I picked up a bunch of stuff I can nibble on throughout the day without getting in too much trouble. I got some pretzels and some little containers of Pringles that only have 100 calories in them ... that way I'm not tempted to eat the whole tube! :D I got crackers and cheese ... and orange juice for a qick fix. And I got some fruit and raisen bread. From all I've read about hypoglycemia you have to be careful to eat about 6 times a day so I figure if I eat about 100 calories or so every couple of hours between meals I should be ok. This is going to be hard because I'm just not used to eating at all. I hardly ever eat during the day. I drink a Boost in the morning about an hour after I get up and then I coast until dinner most of the time ... sometimes I'll drink a Nourishe around 3 or so if my blood is real low and I'm feeling tired. Then I eat dinner ... usually either a lot of meat, baked potato and salad or a cassarole or spaghetti type dinner. Tonight it was Tai food ... Pineapple Fried rice with chicken and cashews. YUM As you can see ... I don't eat a lot! I very seldom ever eat sweets. I bet I don't average a candy bar a month. Maybe a piece of cake or pie every 2 weeks. I might eat a brownie with the kids every now and then and I never eat cookies (Candice ... ). ;) I used to could sit down and eat 2 or three huge donuts without even thinking about it. Now ... thinking about it just makes me sick! Since I lost this weight ... in just the last year ... something has changed. I don't eat like I used to. I wish just ONE of my doctors would take enough interest in me to put everything together and figure something out ... I have TOO MUCH stuff wrong with me!!!!!!!

Did I tell you I called my doctor's office last week and asked them about my sugar being so low and they told me there wasn't much that could be done about it? The RN said just to "keep an eye on it" and when I started to "feel funny" check it and eat! Can you beat that? Didn't say come in ... you need to talk to the doctor and make sure you're hypoglycemic. Just OVER THE PHONE. She said she'd ask the doctor about it and see if there was anything else he wanted me to do and call me back but she never did even call back. Guess they didn't care if I went into a coma or not! I tried to call them today and tell them about the freaky thing that happened yesterday but they weren't in ... big surprise. I'm calling them Monday and telling them if they want me to 'keep an eye on it' they'll have to call me in a meter and some test strips of my own so the insurance will pay for them. I can't keep on using hubby's 'cause his ins. won't pay for more when he runs out.

Joanne ... If I took care of myself like I took care of my family I probably wouldn't be in the shape I'm in to start with!!! Maybe, someday, my family will take care of me ... you think?

Mima 02-19-2005 05:47 AM

Wow Meme-glad you are ok-I eat all day long, but nibble. That's supposed to be the best way to eat-6 small meals Brad takes the dog for a walk a couple of times a day. Gets his own drinks. But it took so much out of him to go out to eat and he was crabby because Mike is always late-this time not too bad. But oh is that Evan cute and he was so good. He's almost 11 months old. He had on a little Hawaain -SP? outfit that made his eyes so blue. He's getting ready to walk. Pulls himself up to standing. And down.I am getting my massage this morning-guy is coming to the house. Oh yeah-we got the hospital bill yesterday-$83,000. And it said we had to pay what insurance doesn't but doc at home said we should be ok-I can't worry about it.
We are having a terrible time testing Brad's sugar because he doesn't bleed.Called the company yesterday and they said to use warm water and soap instead of the alcohol. It worked. Bye for now-Brad wants to eat so I got to go help him test. Mima

Tammy 02-19-2005 10:04 AM

Candice, parents have really changed over the past 28 years. Now there are so many excuses for why the children can't behave, don't do well in spelling or math, etc. After meeting some of the parents, we can definitely understand why some of the children are the way they are.

Mima, that's good that you and Brad are getting out a little. I agree, not too far!! After the long day on Thursday, I was so achy all day yesterday. I hated to call in sick since this was my first week back after the surgery. I probably should have.

Meme, I never have a problem remembering to eat, but it sure sounds like you need to remember!!!!! Take care of yourself lady!!!

Mima, aren't little ones adorable when they are first starting to walk? I just crack up sometimes!

MemeToo 02-19-2005 11:56 AM

OK Mima ... that is one thing Brad can actually do for himself ... test his sugar. It's a no brainer! I'd wean him from having to have help with that one in a hurry if I were you!!! Millions of people all over the world do it by themselves several times a day! You are going to be sorry if you don't stop coddling him right from the start ... talk about me doing too much! I know you love him and want to help but I know from experience that sick men will take advantage and not even realize it. They don't think about how tired we get waiting on them - doing the little things that they can do for themselves. My hubby will go in the bathroom after I just cleaned it and take a shower and you can't even walk in there when he comes out. Sometimes when I'm really sick or tired (or sick and tired) ;) I just tell him to go back and 'fix' it back like it was. He gets aggravated but ... heck ... so am I! Last night I was in the kitchen finishing up putting away $300+ worth of groceries (remember ... I hadn't been to the store in 2 weeks) and he announces he is going to bed ... just like that ... he goes off to bed. It's 11:30 and I'm completely worn out. I was sooooo mad. I started slamming cabinets and mummbling under my breath. He comes back in the kitchen and says what's wrong with you. I told him! :D I said, "Just once I wish you would finish up and close down the house and let ME just 'up and go to bed'." He actually didn't have a clue to what I was talking about. That's a man for you. He said, "What do you mean." So ... I TOLD HIM! I said, "You go off to bed every night and I have to put up the dog, feed the fish, turn down the heat, find two mobile phones and put them back on their bases to recharge, turn off cell phones, turn off TVs, pick up cups, glasses, papers, etc., check the doors and turn off all the lights. All that before I can take my shower and go to bed. He started pitching in and helping me last night but I bet he goes off to bed without a thought again tonight! :p (Can you tell men make me crazy? Especially MINE!)

Gloomy, rainy, cold day. I really don't like this time of year. Makes me want to sleep.

Hey There

Meme- Most men are just alike..I do it all here too.. My hubby uses the yard work as his excuse. He does about 2-3 weeks yard work a year.He has been watching T.V since 9/11.. What can I say..Sometimes it is easier to just not ask and do it my self..
Mima- Meme and I are trying to tell you to let Brad wait on himself a little..He won't hurt himself..You will end up sick ...
The kids are supposed to be back from their honeymoon today...I can't wait for them to come get their dog.. I keep thinking I want a small dog.. I am not sure after this week..Ofcourse their dog is a BIG dog. Black lab close to 100 lbs..I have vacumned 3 times this week..hair everywhere.
Hello everybody Joanne

MemeToo 02-19-2005 01:43 PM

Joanne ... I have a big dog ... golden retreiver. She stays outside most of the time, though. On the front porch. Only comes inside when it's really cold or raining hard and then in the basement bathroom. Talk about long hair and a LOT of it. I'd like to have a little poodle but they are soooo much trouble. Almost as much as a man! :lol3:  I might get one in the spring, though. They are a lot of company. Having a pet is supposed to make you live longer. Although why anyone in as much pain as I am would want to live longer is beyond me!
