Just click on the word 'VALENTINE' and then scroll down to the song Valentine. there are 3 different versions of it in the next to the last row of boxes of midi files on that page ... it's by Martina McBride.

Hey There

Well my dear friend we had a nice time at the wedding. AND ,I didn't cry!!!In fact I was waiting to clap.. They are a really happy couple. I hope it is always that way for them. I did fine. Just came home with a headache from the champagne. I only had half glass but that's all it takes for me..
Mima- Just keep it in mind who came around and who didn't.Or call them up and say"it is your turn to bring dinner today". Think that would give the message?I guess I have been lucky inthat department.. I told you my hubby was a monster in the hospital.. Men don't handle sickness the same way we do..
Tammy- You are going back to school on Valentines? I hope the kids are angels.. Ofcourse they may be really ready for a party..My daughter is not a happy camper in the classroom on holidays. The kids are always excited.
Meme- I bet that daughter just thought up a way to get away?  I might have wanted to say take them with you..But then again I would have done the same as you..
Angegram- It was a really nice wedding and I did enjoy myself. Hope youe hubby is feeling better soon.
Joanne

Meme, I'll have to check out the tune and get prepared!

Joanne, our school had their Valentine Parties on Friday. We always have our parties on Fridays (or whatever the last day of the week is). I was in the classroom to do lesson plans for the week. There is a huge sign across the front of the room welcoming me back. Also lots of notes from the sub. Oh my. I know I have quite a crew this year. She still said she wants to teach full time. I'm surprised that she didn't change her mind! lol

COUPLE'S GARDEN WAS A BIG SUCCESS! We ODed on Chocolate, though. We had 9 desserts and 7 of them were chocolate!!! Only carrot cake and New York cheese cake that didn't have chocolate in it. We even had chocolate dipped strawberries! Between that and the coffee, I'd say there are several 'wired' people awake right now! I had some of our men divide the church with a sheet of plastic to make it 'cozy' and set up ten tables and then decorated with pink and white with a few touches of red here and there. I had floating candles and red and pink hearts and pink velvet roses in matching vases. I had marriage/love keepsake bookmarks and Heshey's chocolate heart candies on pink napkins. I had 2 of our men 'play' waiters and bring everyone the dessert they wanted. One piece of each dessert was set up as they came in so they could see what they were and they chose a slip of paper from in front of each one and gave it to their waiter. When everyone was served, I passed out a questionnaire of questions for them to answer about each other to see how well they knew each other and then had them compare answers. The one with the most right received a gift certificate to the most romantic resaurant in town and then I had other gifts of romantic tapes and books of poems for the runner-up and the couple married most and least years. Also, a booby prize for the couple with the least questions right ... a book titled "What married people AREN'T telling each other." That was too funny! Then I sang my song and the speaker talked on "How Does Your Garden Grow." He is Assistant Pastor where my kids go to church and also a counselor at a local high school. He did a great job. Our pastor was really impressed. He said, "We'll have to do this again." I'm thinking ... not anytime soon!!!!!!! :p

I'M POOPED!!! GOING TO FALL INTO BED NOW. Tammy ... don't want to sing that song again until Valentine's 2006 so you have a whole year to learn it! ;)

MEME YOU ARE HIRED!!!!!!!!!!:D have you tried Gloria Vanderbuilt jeans or JC Penny st Johns bay???? (stretch)

Mima....denial seems to be a big thing in my family even with the older generation! Hope Brad is ok now and you can get some rest too!

Tammy..have fun back at school!

Joanne...gald you had fun at the wedding but too bad on the headache..I can't drink even a sip without paying!

Trying to get through stuff of mom's I had shipped to me, lots and lots of photo's of the old days and trying to figure out who is who. I got some linens washed up and ironed, and some clothes washed and still need to be put away. I hang on to way too much stuff, always have been a pack rat! :p So many memories, just can't believe she is gone. :( I think it will hit me when I go back home and she is not there and all her stuff in the house is gone too. My brother has decided to not sell for a while, the house she left to him since he took care of her and kept it up. Mom and dad built it in 1946 and it is the only place we have called home. Nothing fancy just a two story brick on the old side of of town now. Here is a link for the house....I will have more pictures ready later. I'm in a lot of pain do to overdoing but it will slow down, had to get to the dentist for my cleaning and get the cats in for their shots, next is my gastroenterologist (sp) then the endoscopy, and then the eye doctor and then my son will be home for break again. Then time to plant flowers again! Ha! :D ....and I never take a break from my WW stuff...I always keep track even if I go over and I wear my pedometer everyday to keep track..sometimes I'm active and sometimes I'm not but at least I know where I am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is an everyday thing with me now and has to be if I do not want to blow up like a balloon again! Just a weigh of life now..it's automatic now I do not even think about it just do it!
Somedays better than others so yes there are ups and downs but it seems to balance out. I do know for health reasons I need to be more active...but this fibro thing seems to get in the way some days!;) :dizzy: ;)

Welcome back Candice-hope you are doing ok-I know this is difficult for you. Brad came home yesterday and is really doing well. Nurse Mima has been very busy doing sugar tests and blotting the incisions with antiseptic. Nurse will be here tomorrow. My brother is coming when I go to church. Mike was good yesterday-he picked me up and we picked Brad up and got home and forgot breathing tube so he had to go back. And then he dropped off the prescriptions. He said he hadn,t seen me in a week so my reply was that he knew where I was. He didn't say anything. He is a great kid. WE have always had a good relationship so I am not going to jeopardize it. My girlfriend says it's that generation-they are not like we are .
We had such a surprise yesterday. 2 cars pulled up in front of the house-a mercedes and beamer convertibles-our friends from church. They brought a bucket of foliage and a tool belt filled with tools designed by Ductape Charlie. They had invited us to the Sunday school class who have been amazing. Too funny. Meme-the Valentine dinner at church was not catered -there is one person from church in charge of it. So I was wrong. Bye Mima

Tammy 02-13-2005 08:05 PM

Meme, thinking about all of that chocolate almost made me sick! Way too much!!!

Candice, the house and the one next to it look like houses in the next town north of us. They sure had some snow, didn't they? I'm glad ours is almost all gone now. But, I do wish the rain would stop.

Mima, take care of yourself too!!

Mima 02-14-2005 06:05 AM

Hey Tammy-have fun at school-they will be so glad to see you.
Mike was here last night wih Evan-that was a real pickup. He opens cardboard cans with his teeth and eats dog food. !!!!
Joanne-I am so glad the wedding turned out nice!
The nurse will be here at 11. I check to see if Brad is breathing during the night. I guess that's normal. He is doing great-now I have to listen to his story every time he talks to a new person on the phone. I told his he only gets to tell them once. Tjhey won't call him. Ha!!! 14 years ago it was the day before my husband died of a massive heart attack. Boy, what a turnaround. This time I have a husband with new plumbing, Bye for now Mima

Hey There

Mima- A lot of people will tell everybody about their surgerys. My hubby would not even admit he had open heart surgery. I remember when he told me not to tell the kids. I told him that might be a little strange since they were there..I guess he had a silly idea that made him less a man..  He just as well admit he is getting older like all of us..
Brad will get along fine.. Don't worry and get your sleep..
Candice- You must be getting your wish..I gained 3 lbs this weekend. I am working to get it off. I walked 3 miles+ today. Working to get back on tract..I hate having to watch everything so close..
Hello everybody..Joanne

Mima 02-15-2005 05:12 AM

Good morning-Brad woke me up at 3:30 but now he's back to sleep. And he wants his train models to work on. I don't feel like driving to that store but i will.
Yesterday we had to go to our regular doc to find out about his sugar levels. Brad sat in the back seat with his big heart pillow under the seat belt-standard issue- and his white stockings up to his knees. Too funny!!!! Anyhow, sugar is fine -stress made it high. We told him about a prescript that wasn't covered-and he gave us 40 of them . They are worth 2$ each. Then I wanted a prescript for my inhaler and he gave me a sample.. I have had terrible asthma. He was also the one who kept Brad is the hospital-emergency wanted to send him home. God has been so good.Just thinking about all the things that happened to set things straight. now comes the insurance part. I imagine that will take work.
Joanne, your weight will come off. What did they have at the wedding? Brad and I are craving foods we are not supposed to have. I have to be good because of the asthma. And he has to be good. Bye for now Mima-Tammy , Meme, Anagram, Candice.Hi

Mima 02-15-2005 05:13 AM

and Anne!!!

Tammy 02-15-2005 06:47 AM

Mima, I agree that you need to get some rest! I know how hard it is, but you can't get yourself worn down. Take care of both of you!!

Candice, I loved the cat!

Joanne, we're in the same boat. I know what I have to do, I just need to do it!!

First day back to school was OK. I was pretty tired at the end of the day though. Bob took me out for supper for Val. Day, so that was nice.

anagram 02-15-2005 07:52 AM

Joanne, that's too precious about your dh not wanting the kids to know when they were there! But I understand it too. Dh never mentions the kidney disease. He'll tell people he had a bad cold all winter (not say pneumonia) but never mentions the kidney stuff. Sigh!!

So glad Brad's doing well, Mima. I agree rest when you can though it's sometimes very hard to do. Just remember lots of things can wait. Any chance your son could get the train models for you? Or someone from the church? People really do want to do things to help - I know, sometiems it just seems easier to do it yourself.

Are the kids asking a lot of questions about your surgery, Cat?

DH and I went away for an overnight getaway Sunday. A nice hotel with a show, a surf and turf dinner, champagne, breakfast. REALLY needed that. Came back yesterday driving the 100 miles or so in the rain. But worth it. Did I mention we REALLY needed that?

Mima 02-16-2005 07:18 AM

Wow-how romantic!! That would be something to look forward too. Next year we will have a nice Valentine's Day. But this year, Brad gave me a new heart. Advair is working-I had a better day yesterday. And I went swimming and in the hot tub.
Anagram, you are right about people wanting to help. The 2 couples from church keep asking so Brad wants to ask them to plant small patches of grass and put stones in. I know we can afford to hire someone but I guess that's not the point. It wouldn't take long. One of the wives has fibro-I would love to talk to her in depth. So that's what we will do. And I could ask the couple that's coming over today to pick up the train stuff. Brad doesn't realize how much I have to do-my jobs and his and I was getting overwhelmed before he got sick. Even the fact that he drove was a big help. It's not my favorite thing. But I have been doing it.
I heard a guy at the pool talk about his wife's recovery and how she was able to resume cooking. That would be nice! Ha!! But we used to go out to eat and that was a break from cooking. Soon... I need to be patient .Got a new printer-guess where-at Walmart. And a new touch lamp and clock etc/ But I still don't like the pharmacy-waited for the diabetes stuff and when it was my turn, they had a problem filling it. I had to go to the bathroom and I was weak from hunger. So I left-don't know why I didn't do that in the first place. Then someone told me not to step over the red line or I would get yelled at. So I didn't. It's probably just this Walmart because you guys know how I love them. Hi all-Mima
