Yes it is dessicated pig thyroid, and maybe many many years ago you could not be sure what you were getting, but that is not so anymore. The manufacturer has to adhere to the same standards as any medication manufacturer does, and in fact there was a class action suit against the makers of synthroid because they spread that lie about their compeditors when in actuallity Synthroid has had more recalls for inconsistant strength than any other brand of thyroid medication.
Armour is made just as accuratley to dose if not more so than synthroid. Unfortunately the makers of Synthroid has put on such a
PR and advertizing campaign with the docs that the docs believe it is the one and only golden standard. So that is what they prescribe and that is what they tell their patients. But it just ain't so.
