Hi... I have diabetes (cystic fibrosis related diabetes) and started on insulin in October. Since then I had been gaining weight (15 pounds, part of which happened during a 14-day hospitalization for pneumonia and not moving much). At my checkup last month my dr said that most of his patients on insulin gain weight initially, and that it is usually a result of using calories better and "eating up" to avoid crashes.
I have been exercising a lot more and keeping an eye on my food choices, and have lost 6 pounds in a month now.
Anyone else gain when they started insulin?
Thanks
Kitty
