Allergic to.... everything! w/ibs

  • I have major colon problems that I've come to live with every day. I'm lactose, celiac, have to limit my acid intake, and I have problems not getting enough sugar. Two doctors have told me that my is colon is amjorly disfuntional and so I have ibs with that and my caliac. Oh and my panic attacks don't do much for my social life. I've just lived with the problems and pretty much eat what I want, but now I need to look out for myself and take care of myself. I can't find any diets compatable with everything tha plagues me. Should I just bite the bullet and shoot for anything that works and live with the consequences? I did have a nutritionist back when I as just hitting the teen years, but moved to Arkansas and have since been unable to find one let alone afford it since my insurance won't cover it. I need some help in choosing a meal plan. Ugh...
  • Your problems sound so much like mine -- except for the ibs. I am lactose intolerant, I either have celiac or a wheat intolerance, am allergic to soy and on and on and on..Maybe we can figure out this thing together. Have you tried anything yet? I'm so sick of going to the grocery store and not being able to find anything that won't make me sick and yet I'm very overweight. I have also done the nutritionist, ww, atkins, food delivered daily and on and on. I hope you see this and can answer me. Thanks.
  • Puffy tummy??
Hi... I too have IBS, in addition to cystic fibrosis which effects my digestive system. I am always puffy in the tummy, despite my weight.

Do you have this problem? Sometimes it puffs up in a matter of seconds! I don't know what to do bc it isnt water retention (I dont think it is).

    Any thoughts?

  • Ok guys-move over-I have been allergic to milk wheat soy and have IBS and very bad diverticulosis. But I have been this way for years. There are lots of cereals without wheat and I use rice milk-tastes like 1% milk. I buy spelt bread but there are others at the health food store, Some without gluten . They are expensive but I only eat one piece at a time and it lasts. I take metamusil at night for the diverticulosis and ibs. I only feel bad when I cheat-I get sinus trouble when I have dairy-also pains. I bet a nutritionist could help. Can't eat raw vegetables but cooked. Best of everything. Go to the health food store-they can help you too, Also, Trader Joe's -if you have one near. Mima
  • Hello there. I have IBS, thyroid disease, arthritis and am lactose intolerant. I have started exercising and am trying to diet......unfortunately I have no self discipline and tend to eat whatever I want. I need someone to try to keep me in track......any takers?
