So sad. But it was a good decision Candice-Stress is not good for fibro! Meme-I hope they give you something to boost your system. I'm feeling much better except for my back-I did that thing with my back yesterday and it'sa sore. Weigh in day for me!!!I am bloated. Paint looks awesome. Trying to get Brda to finish it for Sunday but he doesn't know why I want it finished. Hope he does it tonight. How did you do Joanne. Mima

Joanne D 10-31-2003 10:37 AM

Hey There

You did the best thing Candice..I hope now things will get better. Today the little goblins will be visiting.. I hope I make it without trying the candy.
Mima- Down a pound..I hope it wasn't because I was in the B/R a good part of the day yeasterday. IBS is a part of life I guess. Bet your house is going to really be nice.
Meme- Your Dr. is right. Find another Dr. Hope you are doing better.
Happy- Snow! It is in the 70-80's here.Windy..They keep predicting rain and cool weather. It doesn't seem to make it though.
Hello Ally. Anagram.Have good weekend everybody.Joanne

Happy Canuk 10-31-2003 02:35 PM

Good afternoon.

Candice, so sorry about your dog, but it is for the best, when they can't get well. You are having quite a week there. It is Halloween, perhaps your house is haunted:lol:

Meme - Hope the antibiotic works. If it is the viral thing that is hanging around, it won't do much good. That cough can hang on for a year.

Joanne - Great weightloss. I have now been on South Beach for 4 full day and today is day 5. I have lost 5 pounds and am pleased. I think I have at least gotten the yeast under some sort of control. Lots of Diflucan but I am NOT craving sweets at all, so Halloween candy will be a breeze for me.

Mima - Hope your tummy gets better. Ha,ha - hubby hasn't figured out about the surprise party yet, so no real rush to get things done. Have fun convincing him;)

Hi Ally and Anagram. Hope you have a good weekend. Ally, stop eating all the Halloween candy right now!!!

I will leave you with a picture of the cutest little Minnie Mouse - This is what my little Ashley wore to her Kindergarten Halloween party. Tonight, she is going to be a puppy. A much warmer outfit and it is heading to 0F so it will be cool.

Happy... how adorable!!!

Candice... I'm so sorry about your dog. I've been through that several times so I know what you're going through ...it's tough! But when they are that sick it's almost a blessing not to have to watch them suffer. I went through that with my doberman a few years back so I know how you feel... it's a conflicting feeling of pain and relief...

As for the antibiotics and the cold... they are for the drainage that is left over from the cold ... the cold itself is actually gone ... I just have all the gook left and it just won't go away! He seems to think there's some kind of infection that's set in ... seems to always be the case with me when I get something ... if I get a bug of any kind I get an upper respiratory infection from it! I can't do things the simple way! :p The Dr. office called me this morning with the test results... seems the Thyroid test was 'normal' ... I'll bet everything I own it was on the low side of normal ... it always is. I didn't even ask ... doesn't do any good... they never do anything about it as long as it's in the normal range. My blood count has dropped down below where it should be again ... no surprise here! :(

Can't wait to see the kiddies in their costumes tonight. I don't usually have but my 4 since I live so far out in the country. Sometimes some of the people around here will bring a few kids by in cars but the past few years it's just been ours. I'll make some pictures to show you! (if I can get them to be still long enough after all that candy!!!)

Happy....She is going to steel some mans heat someday...bet she already has grandpa's!

Meme..hope the meds work!

I know we did the right thing but I still miss her. Sure is a lot less work for me though! My kitties miss her too!

Mima 11-01-2003 06:28 AM

That little girl is adorable Anne. We found out some wonderful news, the tests for spina bifida and downs ere negative for the new grandchild. Monday, we find out the sex but who really cares. I didn't know I was so worried but I cried for a while after I found out. They have been through so much, they deserve a normal child. But no one would trade Alison for a child who could walk. She is a joy. Hope she doesn't feel too misplaced. Well, I weighed in yesterday and I lost a pound and a half but I missed goal by a quarter of a pound. A quarter.!!!!I will get back to walking this week. I really want to go below that goal. I ate 0ne tootsie pop last night. Goitta get rid of them. Hope you feel better Meme. I couldn't get Brad to fifnish the paint-oh well!!!Hope you are dancing up a storm today Anagram. Hope you have a better week Candice. 5 lbs Anne-wow!!!Joanne, one pound is good!!!How many lbs til goal? One more day to keep my mouth shut. Mima

Joanne D 11-02-2003 09:29 AM

Hey There

Happy- You are blessed with a sweet looking G/daughter..That is such a cute age.
Mima- 5lbs to goal and a few more.. Great news about new G/child.. My sister 's youngest daughter is pregnant with her thrid child. Like the other two it is a at risk baby. The dr.'s are watching her carefully too. The two she has are healthy. This one will be too. We are always positive .
Meme.I hope you are feeling better.
Ally. Did the Dr's resolve your medical problem?
Hello Candice and Anagram.
Well Girls, I got through the fright night and didn't eat one piece of candy. I don't know how I did it. I still have it. We didn't have too many children. Now ,I have to get rid of it.
Bye...Joanne

Ally0306 11-02-2003 12:54 PM

Happy Anne. How did you know I was thinking about eating Halloween candy?? And that little Minnie mouse..... gorgeous!!!
I don't have my white blood cell count figured out yet....my brother warned me against the antibiotic routine. Said that even if I had a virus, my white cell count would be up not down. He said it is not unusual and I need to have it tested again before I get too upset!!
It is rainy and ugly today in NY....they told us all week long that we would have Indian Summer, I am disappointed....

Candicej 11-03-2003 12:39 AM

I got some rest and that means I did not get any outside work done Still having quite a bit of pain even though the temps are warmer it is very damp here. Monday is cleaning day and we have an electrician coming finally to fix some things. So I have to be up early..I hate that I like to wake up when I do... not set an alarm! I cry everytime I go down to the dogs room on the way to the cats room. I know it will take time, she was with us so long.

Eating has been good the past few days but baking days are coming!

Mima 11-03-2003 05:51 AM

It will take time Ally but cry-it's good for you. Had Brad's party yesterday-he didn't have a clue. He came home early but he needed the time to get ready mentally!!He was so surprised. Lots of people-fun-I ate too much. The dog was thre and people were figuring out how old he was-almost 15? Not 10-that scares me. He doesn't act 15. It's raining here!!Going to Boston Thurs to see Les Mis with SIL. I am so bloated!!!We ate dinner at 8 because we went to a concert, Not a good time to eat. Recovery day. Mima

Happy Canuk 11-03-2003 12:34 PM

Good morning.

Mima - Glad your party went well and that he was surprised. Sometimes that is the hardest part - trying to keep it a surprise. Enjoy Les Miserables.

Candice - I know you are sad. It is like losing one of your family and it will take time. Grieving is the way you have to do it. Glad you got some much needed rest. The outside work won't go anywhere.

We have been having quite abit of snow this past few days. I guess winter is here. It was down to below zero F a couple of days ago, with a windchill it made it -25. Brrr not ready for this yet.

I had such a very busy weekend, I never even got to sit down and read Friday, Saturdays paper until last night. I did manage to get out and get my hair cut and colored. I am starting the 2nd week of Phase 1 of the South Beach Diet and so far I am down 7 pounds. That feels good also. I sailed through Halloween without even craving a candy. I was at my sons passing it out. I am hopeful that the yeast has FINALLY left my system and perhaps I can go on now and lose the weight I want to lose. I hope it doesn't all just come to a standstill like it usually does after losing a few pounds.

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Joanne D 11-03-2003 07:07 PM

Hey There

Mima- So the party went well even if the hall wasn't painted. These men! I know how it is. My hubby's favorite is 'I'll get to it'. I sware I am going to put that on his marker.
Candice- Although you miss the pet you have had so long ,it must be a relief. You needed the rest..Don't worry about the yard.
I still have that D--- candy staring me in the face. I haven't touched it. It must be a test. I hate throwing it away. I'll take it to my daughter for her kids at school ,if I make it till Thanksgiving. My hubby says throw it away.. It was his idea to buy it!!
Mima- I haven't felt bloated since I gave up the carbs..
Hello everybody...Joanne

anagram 11-03-2003 07:37 PM

Wow - seven pounds down. That's great, Happy! Glad your party went well, Mima.

The wedding was great and the weather has been super too. On Sunday morning, our kids had a belated surprise anniversary celebration for us. Really took my breath away, couldn't quite grasp why people were saying surprise when we walked in. Really sweet of them.

Had a good day today in every way. (Finally, she adds.) Woke up about 4:45 feeling great so just got up and started. Took a little lunch break then kept going until I sat down while dinner was cooking and fell asleep. So dinner was at least a half hour later than I had planned. Fortunately it didn't burn. DH cleaned up and I'm still waking up.

I have felt for so long the need to get away for a few days and we finally did. I'm sure that's why I felt so good.

Mima 11-04-2003 05:51 AM

That's great, Anagram. Sometimes we just have to wait and good things happen. What a nice thing to have a surprise party for you. Snow Anne!!!Yikes, that makes winter long. Hide the candy Joanne so you won't SEE it. Mine is leaving today when I tutor-a few lollipops and pencils. We found out yesterday that the baby is a boy-Evan Louis Carville-Now it seems real. I'll be seeing them in less than 2 months!!!Alison wanted a sister but she says she'll get used to it. They have taken care of a lot of foster boy babies and fallen in love with them. I was so tired yesterday from eating carbs on Sunday-I even went for a walk. Today I feel better. How are you doinmg Candice, Ally, Meme. Mima

Candicej 11-05-2003 03:17 AM

Thanks for your kind and encourageing words gals, I really needed to hear that right now. I keep thinking there was another choice even though I know there was not.

My eating has been good for the past few days, eating peanuts and raisins instead of any "junk" but staying within pts.

Cleaning yesterday really made me hurt but I'm better today, just had to rest. So damp and cold here, not looking forward to winter at all and I'm sure not going to see Happy and her snow

Haven't dug any Christmas gifts out yet but am working on my cards. I really want to start baking now too...ut ooooooooooo
