Hi All!

No news today....other than it's gorgeous outside :). Planning on going to TOPS tonight. Even convinced my brother to come along and he comes home last night and tells me he has someone else interest! Pretty funny. Should be a band of us in there....

So, how is everyone? Angel what type of station is it? Sounds like it would be fun.

Deb

Joanne D 09-09-2003 07:24 PM

Hey There

Grasshopper- Good for you. It is a lot of times easier to try to lose weight and get healthy when you have someone doing it with you...I know I have had a gain this week and it is really depressing for me. It is very hard to walk through those doors knowing that I have not stayed on program and had a loss.I have only a few pounds to lose and just can't seem to get it together..MOTIVATION !!!!!!!!!!!
Angel- Take care of yourself. Sometimes we do too much..
Happy.. I have always been like I am.. I try to be care giver to the world. Sometimes I think I offend people and maybe they really don't want to hear /read what I come up with...
Bye All....Joanne

http://suzanvitti.org/images/RWBGR.gif Hi everyone....

Just a quick post...gotta help at station again.

Grasshopper...it's a Christian TV station. I volunteer in the office. & help in various other places...trained a little in all. It helps me get out of the house....& I DO enjoy it. I'm very close friends with the manager & co-manager (husband & wife)

I do push a little too much sometimes...but it has it's rewards. I get to sing (I'm not great...but enjoy) & even have my own program on Monday evenings..."Vision of Heaven" I guess you've found out a little more about me, haven't you? We were on internet....gonna get it back soon. You can check it out, if you want. (not my part...the station!:o )

Hi Joanne, & Happy Canuk....yes, I do too much..............sometimes.
:^:

Hi All!

Good news! I had the cardiac stress test today and everything is normal. Thank God! Can't tell you what a relief that is. Now I just need to hold on to the fear I had, channel it, and motivate myself to lose weight or next time I won't be so lucky.

Know what you mean about the whole motivation thing Joanne. The TOPS meeting was tonight but I didn't go. Can't even say why I didn't....not good.

I bought Dr. Phil's new book tonight....doubt the magic bullet is in there but we'll see. Really looking forward to his weight loss challenge on tv. Figure it will be a good place to start. Say a prayer for me :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Deb

http://www.chubclub.org/forum/Imageu...0705238760.gif So glad your results are good!!
Wish you lots of luck with your weightloss, also!

Well, 2 more lbs...& I'm going to just maintain. That'll make 34 lb loss. (184-150) If I lose a little more, it'll be ok...I'll have room to pig out if I want. I'm back in my size 10's.... at my age (54)...I don't want to lose enough to make wrinkle show in my face. At the moment, I have very few. I know they're coming....just gonna prolong as long as possible!!;) You know, I get to talking on these threads, & tend to forget about weight loss....I haven't even said much about mine. Believe me, though...it's been real...& tough!http://www.agifs.hpg.ig.com.br/garfield/garfield25.gif

Well....got another long day at the station. Hope all have a good day, & weekend.http://www.gifanimations.com/Image/A...ckey_walks.gif

Silk...still waiting to hear from you!

Young Grasshopper 09-12-2003 11:46 PM

Congrads on reaching maintance Angel!!!!! Had to laugh at the whole wrinkle comment. Too funny!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi everyone, I really enjoy your animation. I have posted a couple of times but for some reason they have not shown up.

I am looking forward to Dr. Phil's weight loss challenge as well, he was on TV tonight for two hours with Katy Couric and what he said makes sense.

I have been very depressed lately, I don't know why, I wish I could shake it but I just can't seem to snap out of it.

We are moving the end of October so there is a lot to be done.

Hope all is well.
Take care
Silk

http://home.att.net/~scorh/IAngel1a.gifHi Silk....I wish you weren't depressed. I know that feeling....not fun at all. You know we're here for you. You can talk to us any time. PM me if you want & we'll email....whatever it takes.

How did the Corizone shot go? I hope it helps. I've wondered too, when you move, will you still have access to computer to post? I don't know if you have one, or go somewhere else to use. I sure wouldn't want to lose touch with you.

Please feel better.....hope you have a peacefull weekend.
http://home.att.net/~scorh/Animation1i2.gif

silk lumina 09-13-2003 03:37 PM

Hi Angel, thanks for the kind words. Yes, I will still have access to the computer I have it at home.

My cortizone shots seem to have helped a lot. I had two in my lower back and I have not felt any pain there since, however, I have not been feeling well either. I don't know if it is from the shots or if I have a bug.

I sent you a private email last week, did you receive it?

Joanne, and Deb it sounds like we are all in the same boat trying to lose weight. I am hoping to be able to do some walking now that I have had the cortizone shots.

We went looking for a new livingroom set today so spent a lot of time walking around all of the furniture stores. We had to go to London to shop as our town doesn't offer a lot in furniture.

I will post again later tonight or tomorrow.

Take care
Silk

Young Grasshopper 09-14-2003 06:47 PM

Hi Silk, Angel, Canuck, and Joanne,

Figured I'd try a new variation of my traditional "Hi All".... I start work tomorrow....little nervous but looking forward to it too. Will be good to get out of the house and make some money. The whole back problem has had my life in limbo.

Sorry to hear your feeling blue, Silk. I found that the shots cause mood swings for me. Think the pain killers and muscle relaxers do it too. Just hate when I get really down and there doesn't seem to be a reason. The anastescia (sorry, can't spell it) used to really throw me for a loop - would make me cry, not from pain, but I'd just feel really sad. Don't know about you, but it makes me feel better when I have a reason for feeling down...TOM, etc. Actually, gives me to comfort to know there's a reason and a plausible time frame for it to end. Bad enough life gives me reasons enough to be blue...don't need the added bonus brought by drugs.

I got Dr. Phil's book. Want to give it a shot. Didn't find the special to be all that great but the book isn't too bad. Looking forward to his show tomorrow. If anyone is interested there is a Dr. Phil thread on the Support board.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Deb

Hey There

Hey All..Grasshopper. Hope you really like your job and you do well... I do hope you will give TOPS another try. I know it isn't easy going the first time. I think you will enjoy going. The first meetings are free just to see if you like it. I bought the South Beach Diet book today. My daughter talked me into giving it a try. I just started the book but will try to cut the carbs starting tomorrow, I need the kick start. With Gods help this might do it.I will still count the points and stay as close to WW as possible.
Angel- I always love your messages. You seem to calm the beast in me some times.. Don't over do and take care of yourself.
Silk- Give yourself a few days and you might start to feel better. Those injections always made me sick too. Try to stay a little busy and take some long walks. That always helps me when I get down and out of sorts. I have left the house sometimes so riled up that I could strangle someone and by the end of two miles I was feeling a little better.I'm not saying I still didn't want to strangle them though..Hope you feel better soon.
Bye.......Joanne

silk lumina 09-14-2003 11:34 PM

Grasshopper, you will be great at your new job, all the best to you.

Angel, I agree with Joanne you do seem to have a calming effect, that is why I look forward to hearing from you.

I had to go to the hospital last night as I was having terrible spasms in my back and my legs. It turns out I have an elevated white count, elevated liver enzymes and low in potassium. I guess I had better pay more attention to what is going on with my body (besides it just contiunally gets bigger). Tomorrow I am going to London to the hospital for a biopsy due to a female problem I have been having.

I think I am falling apart. Joanne, please let us know how you make out on the South Beach Diet. I am going to watch Dr. Phil tomorrow Grasshopper maybe something will click and we will lose weight like crazy.

Have a good week everyone.

Take care
Silk

Angel-lover 09-15-2003 06:37 AM

Hi everybody.....guess we all have a big week ahead.

Silk....I'm sorry....I didn't get your private message. I don't know what could have happened. Here's my email address:
[email protected] (don't tell anyone my name:lol: )
You can email anytime. I have one on Yahoo also, which is the same address, only @Yahoo.com I do hope you're feeling better. Gotta go through female problems too?! Life just isn't great sometimes! Those back spasms are rough....I have them, also. Feel better real soon...& hope you're not as "down" as you were. http://www.agifs.hpg.ig.com.br/criancas/menina3.gif

Joanne....thanks for the sweet things you said. I love to post...& always enjoy hearing that I may have helped someone....at least, a little. I wish I was able to walk, like you do. I used to enjoy it so much. Do it....while you can, girl!http://members.shaw.ca/Sunburn_69/little_green_guy.gif

Grasshopper.....hope your first day goes well...don't overdo....& don't be nervous. (that's what would happen to me!) http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/mica/Misceyes.gif

Have a good day

Joanne D 09-15-2003 10:39 AM

Hey There

Silk- Boy are you having a time of it- I sure hope you can get sraightened out soon. Our emotions sometimes make us sick and bring hidden things to the surface.. Hope your Dr. in London can help you. You know that any kind of female problem will cause all kinds of upsets. Even depression.
First day on this new eating plan. Hope my sugar level ,when it drops, won't make me fuzzy.
As I said Dr. Phil is not my favorite person. Degradation of any form does not appeal to me..
Angel- I enjoy my walking time . I go in the evening now ,because of the heat. Later on in the fall I will go earlier. I try to do 3 miles .It takes me about an hour.I walk to the beach and my hubby comes and picks me up. That is about my limit now. I try to go 3-4 times a week. Sometimes I do more.
I retired from nursing ten years ago. Some of my friends said I would hate not working. Not so! I find all kinds of things I enjoy to fill my time. I am always busy. I said that when I retired I was going to do all the things I was waiting so long to do. Now we don't go much but my hubby doesn't like to go and he really isn't able.
Hello Grasshopper -Tell us about your day...Bye...Joanne

silk lumina 09-15-2003 01:21 PM

Hi girls, I went to London this morning and the Doctor said I have a chronic skin disease, the name is really long and I can't remember what it is called. He said there is no cure for it however, he gave me a prescription for cream that will keep it under control.

I wonder how Grasshopper made out at her new job this morning? I am excited for her and I am sure she will do well.

Joannel, you are so lucky to be able to walk to the beach, I am sure you enjoy that.

Angel, I hope your feeling better. I don't know why you didn't receive my private email I will try again later.

It is cool and rainy here today, a sure sign of fall.

Take care
Silk - Sharon

Angel-lover 09-16-2003 10:01 AM

Hi everybody...Hope all are feeling good today.

Silk (Sharon...like the name)....sorry about your skin disease...seems like you can't win, for losing....as the saying goes. You've got to be strong, girl. Just hang in there! I found out a long time ago...there's nothing we can do about some things...so, gotta learn to live with them. Not always easy though..huh?! I do hope you're feeling better.
Talking about the back spasms...I usually don't have them unless I over do, or try to strain my back. (which I know better...but do anyway, sometimes!) I'm impatient....so if I want something done & no one else will, at the moment....here I go!
:D

Joanne....Hope you're feeling well today. My desire was to become a nurse. We didn't have the money for me to go to college. I really didn't get encouraged at home for goals, either. (long story) I do, still, love to read medical books, & procedures...about illnesses, etc. The computer has made it easier, now. My drs have learned through the yrs that I know a lot about what they're talking about, & are careful what they say to me about myself! http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung...smiley-061.gif

Grasshopper...tell us all about your first day!

I'll check in later......

http://home.att.net/~scorh2/Animation3l.gif

Young Grasshopper 09-16-2003 05:58 PM

Hi All!

Hmmm, my first day? Well, I got so wound up about it that I didn't sleep...maybe got an hour if I'm lucky. The job is pretty easy...just sitting in front of a computer and checking stuff. The people seem nice but there isn't much chit chat. I get my meals half price so I've been eating salad a lot. (I hate cutting all that up!)

Only bad part is that my back is really bugging me after work. Yesteday I came home, took some meds, and pretty much went to sleep. Today, I wore different shoes and took a short walk on my break...thought that would help. Back is stiff right now. I'm going to call for a physical therepy appointment. Hope to schedule it right after work and that might help. I don't want to call out a lot because I'd like to get other assignments once this job is done. I had them split up my days off so at least I'll have a day to recover between days. Guess we'll have to play it by ear.

Silk, sorry to hear about your skin problem. Did the doc tell you where it came from? Or what caused it? I'll keep you in my prayers.

I've got Dr Phil's book and I tried to watch his show. I finish work right when it starts. Asked one of my brothers to tape it for me but he didn't :(. Was ready to boot him in the behind for that....worst was my back hurt so bad I wouldn't have been able to raise my leg. Now you KNOW my back was bad if I couldn't do that! And yes, Silk, it would be awesome if the weight just fell off....

Angel where do you get all your cute pics? Love them! Then again, don't tell me...probably crash the computer. Had to move 9 times today at work...computer kept crashing. The tech that came to fix it each time mentioned she was visiting Europe and going to Lourdes. Told her to bring back some of the holy water for the computer!

If you don't see me post everyday it's because I've come home and crashed. I'll pop back in though :)

Hope everyone has a great week!

Deb

silk lumina 09-16-2003 10:26 PM

Hi everyone!

Angel, you are such a delight to talk to, you always make me feel better. I hope you are doing well.

Grasshopper - it is very stressful when you start a new job and itis hard on the back when you have to sit all day. I hope you can manage it and try not to get discouraged.

They didn't say what caused my skin problem, just indicated that it was my age. boy did that make me feel good.

Dr. Phil's show was mainly about the people that are going to participate on his show for the next ten months to you didn't miss to much.

I went to my sons for supper, I just love their little guy - Benny he is just so full of energy and just makes me feel good to watch him play. It makes me thankful that I have four wonderful, healthy, beautiful grandchildren.

Take care everyone, Grasshopper hand in there.

Sharon

Happy Canuk 09-17-2003 02:47 AM

Hi

Grasshopper - I sure know how you feel with your back and all. I have absolutely NO suggestions as nothing I did seemed to help. Just make sure and get plenty of rest on your days off. I wish you the best.

Silk - glad the cortisone shot helped. Now, if they can just clear up the skin. I have NEVER had acne and all of a sudden I have started to get some skin problems. I was to the dermatologist a couple of weeks ago and it is yeast related., caused by cortisone. It weakens the immune system and then the yeast take over and away we go. I am now on a 4 week treatment of Diflucan. Also, I have a fungal infection in my ear since last Christmas. Fighting with that as well. Have to get my ear cleaned out every 3-4 weeks. Now, I am putting Nystatin powder mixed with water into the ear twice a day. Sure hope this works.

Angel - Hope you are keeping well. It's nice to work at a job you enjoy.

Hi Joanne. good luck on that South Beach Diet.

I started back on Atkins last week and was down 5 pounds. It is very difficult to lose weight when your body has a systemic yeast infection. It holds on to every ounce of fluid and won't let it go. Maybe this time.

Everyone have a great day tomorrow.

Angel-lover 09-17-2003 08:10 AM

Hello, again.......Happy HUMPDAY!!

Well.........I tried to cheer everybody up.:)

Happy Canuk....Congrats on your weightloss!
http://www.addis-welt.de/smilie/smil...ted_smilie.gif
Yes, it is nice to work at the TV station. I only do volunteer work 3 days a week. (normally) Of course, there are weeks, I'm needed more. It's really interesting.....& although I work as the secretary...I'm also trained in all of it...at least a little...so if I need to step in, I can. It gets me out of the house.

Silk....I'm glad you are better. I enjoy posting to all of you...& receiving, as well. Just wish I had a cure for everyone's problems. I can pray, though, & I do. I feel like the Lord has given all of you to me to help me...& hopefully to be a help in return.

Grasshopper....I also, found working every other day helps. Hope your back gets better soon.

Hello to Joanne...hope all is well with you today. I imagine you're out walking about now.

I'll check in later...have a good day!

Joanne D 09-17-2003 09:58 AM

Hey There

Grasshopper- It might be the position you are sitting in at the computer that makes your back hurt more. Also tension with the new job. When you get home if you can stretch out on the floor with a pillow under the knees it might help. Walking strenghtens the back ...
Silk- AGE is not a good answer for a skin problem.. I would ask them if they couldn't push me off with a better answer to please recommend a Dr. who could give a more proffesional answer.Dr.'s are not GOD they just think they are.
Angel- I walk in the evening after supper. It is still to hot here in Fl. to go earlier. I don't function too well for early morning.
Happy- I wondered where you were.I guess it is cooler up there now... This eating plan is not as restrictive as Adkins. From what I have read so far in the book it is supposed to be better for our health.I am still counting the points and I am eating less. I am walking almost every day..If my knee bothers me too much I will have to cut back..A Cardio.Dr. wrote and tested it himself...
Bye All...Joanne

silk lumina 09-17-2003 06:03 PM

Hi all!

It sounds like you all are very busy. I have not worked since the end of December 2001 as I have had too many health problems and have been on long term disability.

I sometimes fear life is passing me by as I am not a very active or involved person. Since I have had the cortizone my back feels much better and I am going out for short walks and trying to go a little further every day.

Good luck to all of you on your diets or should I say life changing plans. I have lost a little but not enough that anyone would notice.

Hurricane Isabel looks like she might do a lot of damage, I pray that you are all safe and sound.

Take care
Silk - sharon

Joanne D 09-17-2003 07:32 PM

Hey There

If anyone is interested there is a good explanation on the tops site here on Fat Chicks. My sister is Eleni and she has put this on for anyone interested in joining tops..It will tell you a lot about TOPS.
Silk - Glad to hear the injections have helped your back..Keep up the good work. Remember , small amounts of weight loss add up to big losses. If you can keep up the walking. Make yourself a schedule and try and increase at little everyday. Some years ago I put up a calender I wrote down each day how far and long I walked. I put on it my weight at the beginning of each week. Facing each day starting with my own weigh in in the am helped to keep me on tract.I have been retired over 10 years. Health problems were part of the reason. You are not alone and you still have a lot you can look forward to. Find your interests and expand them. Join a support group like TOPS there are a lot of women there for you.
The storm passed us by . My G/son is in the navy. He is on the U.S.Harry S. Truman. Out of Norfolk. His ship was supposed to be in dry dock but they probably took it out to sea with the rest. He has a new truck. His dad told him to put it in long term parking. I hope it is safe. He is so proud of that truck.
Bye for now...Joanne

Young Grasshopper 09-18-2003 06:10 PM

Hi All,

Waiting for Isabel to make an appearance. Probably come in tonight while I'm trying to sleep. As long as we don't flood I don't mind. Love a good storm every now and then....then again, who knows what will be coming my way tonight. Tide is pretty high at all the beaches.

Back is doing so so. You guys are right about moving around during the day and shifting position. I'm trying to walk around the hospital during half of my lunch break. Not too far but at least it clears out my mind.

I've been thinking about going to a chiropractor. Don't want to sound gross but I feel like my back needs to be cracked. Never been to one though....Mom had bad experiences with chiropractors so I'm a little leary. Even thinking about acupuncture. We'll have to see.

I agree with Joanne, Silk, you need to consult another doc. Age is not a good answer. Have you tried taking cranberry pills? I had a yeast problem and taking those helped control it. Also helps with a UTI. You sound a little down about not working..don't be. Consider taking care of yourself a full time job.

I've been doing pretty well on the diet this week. Think I'm down at least 3lbs but I'm not counting anything until my official weigh in on monday. Don't want to haunt the scale. I think work and getting out of the house helps.

Joanne...still want to make a TOPS meeting. Just wish they had one on my day off :(. But I'll get there soon :)

Hope everyone is safe and dry!

Deb :)

Happy Canuk 09-19-2003 02:09 AM

Hello

Hope you are all keeping well.

Grasshopper - glad you are moving around. It does help some. Chiropractic has come along ways in the past few years. I would NOT be walking if it wasn't for a chiro. I did learn of the Upper Cervical Chiro. (no manipulation) and started with that treatment a couple of years ago. Best thing I ever did. The treatment is so gentle you don't even know you are having it. My lower back pain, due to back surgery, facet joint disease and arthritis, is so much better, I hardly ever have to take meds. Also, a lot of my FM symptoms have disappears. If you want to, you can read about it at www.nucca.org

Silk - I hope you make out ok at the hospital. That South Beach Diet looks kind of interesting. I have done Atkins before and it worked pretty good. Just need to get back on it.

Hi Angel and Joanne. Hope you two are keeping well.

Silk...Most Chiropractors use an instrument now, that they go over the tender spots with. I understand, it's like a vibration, you feel. Doesn't hurt at all. My friend had it done, & also my husband. They both said they didn't think it could help, because it didn't hurt, or anything. The next day, though, they were pretty sore! After a couple of treatments, they were doing great. They both were down pretty bad. Husband pulled back at work. Then one day, friend reached behind the pc & then, suddenly couldn't move. Her husband & I had to push her out to the car in a chair with rollers! She came back walking slowly...in 2 days...was almost normal!

Grasshopper...stay safe in the storm.

Hope all have a good day!

Joanne D 09-19-2003 11:16 AM

Hey There

I lost 3 1/4 lbs this week and was only on the South Beach Diet(eating plan I like to say) for 4 days... I think it is really more healthy than adkins. You don't get as much saturated fat on this one. Better for heart health.
Grasshopper - If you decide to go to a chriopractor check him out first..There are some bad ones out there. My son had a bad experience with one. Me, I would never go to one. At one time I was told AMA did not indorse them.Hope you can find a TOPS close by.. Go to TOPS.org and you may be able to find out where one is...You won't regret it..I just love going to the meetings and look forward to them every week.
Happy ,Pretty good. I had to laugh at the wording. I spell badly sometimes and often have to look up a word in order to spell right.
Angel- Silk- The storm passed Fl. by. We kept watching and waiting for it to make the turn. Sorry it hit so many and sure do hope not too much damage was done. I haven't seen tv today so I will have to take a look later...I am not much of a TV viewer.. My hubby usually has the control in his hand.
Bye for now....Joanne

Hi all, congratulations on your weight loss. I am feeling much better today and am looking forward to the weekend.

I am keeping Benny - the two year old for a couple of hours tonight while his parents go out for supper. I love him to death but two hours will be plenty.

It sounds like we are all in the same boat physically and trying to lose weight. Keep up the good work.

I will post later.

Take care
Silk

Young Grasshopper 09-19-2003 03:59 PM

Hi All,

Canuck, thanks for that link! Unfortunately, none of them are close by...guess I'll have to do some research. You're right Joanne, there are some bad ones out there. Hopefully, working in a hospital I might hear who is good through word of mouth. Still leary about it.

Back seems to be doing a little better as far as work. Watch, I probably just jinxed myself! Seriously though, I'm making an effort to move around and walk "the long way" whenever I can. The cafe there is great....egg whites for breakfast, salad for lunch. Okay, so some wouldn't be a thrilled as me...just easier to stay on a diet when the good food it right there and someone else cooks it. Easier to make better choices.

Noticed something new today...my ankles are swelling. Not cool. Anyone know what causes this? I don't eat a lot of salt so it can't be that. Just has me worried. Probably should check with the doc. Going to look it up on webMD.

The hurricane pretty much passed us by...thank God. Course with all the hoopla the media made about it I wonder if anyone will pay attention the next time. Some were getting almost Book Of Revelations here.....talked about evacuating Long Island. Geez.

Hmmm, aren't I chatty today? Great job on the weight loss Joanne! Sounds like you'll have fun with Benny, Silk. I love kids. And just think! You can give him back at the end of the night! Isn't that the definition of grandparent? You can spoil them rotten and give them back :)

Well, hope this finds everyone well and upright :). Have a great weekend!

Well....I just finished posting....rather long...then...hit something wrong..........VANISHED!!!http://www.techhelpers.net/e4u/comp/comp03.gif

Grasshopper....When I sit at the pc a long time, my legs & ankles swell. At work, I put a small cardboard box on the floor to put my feet on....helps the swelling & the back aches. This may help a little.

Silk....Glad your feeling better. Hope it stays that way. I finally reached my weight goal. I've lost 35 lbs. Got back into my size 10's. Would like to lose more, but can't afford new clothes, now.

Joanne....http://www.gilly.0catch.com/emoticons/cheer.gifCongrats on the weight loss! You're doing great.

Hello to Happy Canuk.

Hey There

Angel- You said it well- Grasshopper your feet are probably swelling because you are sitting more than you are used to. My son is a design architect. He made himself a wooden stool to put in place for his feet. He has back and neck problems . He had a sky accident when he was younger and foolish. Almost broke his neck. I shake when I think how close he came to not being with us. His wife at the time didn't want him to tell me. He told me 2 weeks after whe he had blood drainage from the nose. We got him right in to a specialist.. She is long gone ...
As we all know salt is in nearly all food products found on the market..I have to read labels for everything..I have had a fluid retention problem since I was 30. Grasshopper you may be getting more salt in your diet than you know...Drink lots of water. Believe it or not ,it helps the problem.
You All have a great weekend.......Joanne

Hi Ladies!

Another day of swollen ankles :( Had hoped it was the knee hi's I was wearing but no luck. Went outside and walked around the hospital today...weather was so nice! The swollen ankles have me worried again....have to go in for a consult on that stess test I just took (I'm okay) so I guess I'll make the doc earn his money. On the plus side, my back hasn't gotten as stiff as it did the first day. :) Got to take the small blessings into account :)!

Joanne, that was horrible what happened to your son! Think it would make my hair white! Thank God he's okay. Think I'll try the box under my feet on monday.

Planning on heading to the beach tomorrow to watch the waves. Hope it's still there after the storm  Hope everyone has a great sunday :)

Hey There

Angel- GOOD FOR YOU !!!I guess you will take off a little more for leeway- I found it hard to stay below goal. So when I get back to my new goal I plan to go 5 lbs more...I doubt that I will ever get to a 10. I will get to 12. I am 14 now and they are loose...
Grasshopper- Are you drinking water...Sodas even diet have salt in them...Juices too..Ask your Dr. You may need a diuretic.I think you will find the box helps.
Silk- Sounds like you are feeling better... Hope so.. Keep busy doing things you like to do.. My hubby and I went to see Second Hand Lions yesterday. We laughted all the way through the movie. It was great.. I will enjoy that one again.
Hello Happy- Hope your day is going well.
Bye...Joanne

Hi girls, it is pouring rain here today and very windy. We do need the rain so I shouldn't complain.

We have done a lot of packing this weekend and given a lot of clothes, dishes etc. to goodwill. Things that if I could get into I wouldn't want to wear so hopefully someone will get good use from them.

Grasshopper, I am sorry you are having so much trouble with your ankles and your back. I hope you are feeling better.

Joanne, you and Angel are doing great with your weight loss. Although I lost 7 lbs. I have been at a stand still the last couple of weeks.

I will not have the internet from September 30, 2003 until October 31. 2003 so I will miss chatting with all of you. However, I will post every day until then.

Take care
Silk - Sharon

Hey There

Silk- I gather you are moving. Where? We will miss you so come back as soon as you can... 7 lbs is good. Drop your carbs for awhile and I bet you will start losing again...
Grasshopper knee highs will make you ankles swell..
I spent some time working outside today. So I am sore all over and really tired. Hopefully I can get my yard cleaned up . Trying to get hubby out of the rocker to help me. He did a little today. I cut his hair.(he won't go to barber) .Cut out a bag I am going to make to carry things. I got some upholstery material and lining to make it. It should be nice
Bye for now ...Joanne

Hi everybody....

Oh Silk....I'm gonna miss you for a whole month!

Well...it'll give me some time to pull myself back together, I guess.
The storage unit where we had all our furniture, clothes, etc....was broken into. All of it is gone. My whole 10 yr angel collection that didn't burn....I had carefully cleaned & packed away. My dad's things that didn't burned. I don't have anything of his left, now. One of the two oak bedroom suits....we bought 35 yrs ago, when we got married. I could go on & on.
The lawyer has given me a lot to do...paperwork....running around. The Maytag Co. is wanting to settle with us....they should have done it before the break-in...now it'll be added. For awhile, I'm going to be really busy, & can't post...unless it's just a fast one, sometimes. Just be patient with me, til I get all of this done.

Keep the thread going.....I WILL be back! :grouphug:

Young Grasshopper 09-23-2003 05:40 PM

Hi Ladies!

Angel! I'm so sorry to hear about the break in....that's got to be heartbreaking. Hope Maytag settles with you quickly....the jerks!

Joanne, that sounds like a great project...the bag that is. Don't think I've been near a sewing machine since Home Ec in middle school. The closest I come to anything crafty is cross stitch. Keeps my hands busy.

Silk, hope the move goes easily. When I last moved I was amazed at all the junk I had. Will miss you while you're gone...hopefully you'll burn off a few lbs while doing the move :)

Me? Stayed home today. Back was really bad yesterday. Decided to change to different muscle relaxer and take it easy. Feeling better right now. Tomorrow will be the test. I'm debating going into work (it's a day off) but I'll have to play it by ear.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Deb

Wow

Angel - How terrible. I guess what the fire didn't take, someone else felt the right to. That is just plain disgusting. I know you will be busy, but we will all still be around when you get back. Please know that my prayers are with you.

Silk - Boy, you are busy. When are you moving? Are you going far? Not that it matters of course, because you still have to pack. That is a hard thing to contend with when you have FM and a bad back.

Grasshopper - sorry you are having such a bad time with your legs swelling. That isn't much fun. Listen to nurse Joanne - she speaks from experience.

Joanne - Hope you are doing ok. You will get your yard cleaned up. You might have to put a stick of dynamite under that hubby of yours:lol:

It is windy and cold here today, and I have a sinus thingy going on. Hopefully it will disappear. Not as bad today as yesterday.

Everyone keep well and happy.
