Default Dealing with diverticulitis

I was diagnosed with diverticulitis 11 years ago when it landed me in the hospital. In 2010, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and going through that along with all of its treatments put the diverticulitis on the back burner. I have had lots of problems with bloating and inflammation that the doctors have not been able to help me with and it seems like any time I get really serious about trying to get back to trying to lose weight I blow up more and feel worse. It just kind of dawned on me that maybe this was all going back to the diverticulitis and that I needed to finally get it figured out how to manage it, lose weight and hopefully start feeling better.

I am pretty sure I am not the only one on here that deals with diverticulitis. I thought that maybe we could share things to help each other out. Back when I was hospitalized for it I was told to stop eating nuts and no popcorn. In trying to find more updated information on the subject, I found some information about not combining certain foods with one another and that there where "catalyst" foods to avoid (yogurt, cottage cheese, peanut butter and one or two other things).

What have you all been able to figure out?
