go to shakeoffsugar.net and scroll down to read an article about drinking diet cola which is my downfall and now i wonder if that is keeping me from losing any more weight well i am going to definitely cut down and see if i lose next week
let me know what u think of the article
The web site is www.shakeoffthesugar.net . The article to me was a typical anti-aspartame article -- nothing new or earth shattering. I personally have lost 122 pounds while drinking diet sodas, both with and without caffeine. Others may have a problem with artificial sweeteners -- clearly I don't. The way I look at it is -- I've given up so much else -- they'll have to pry diet soda from my cold, dead fingers!
oh Meg, tell me ur secret on losing weight i have been trying to lose since 6/1 (seriously) and have only lost 15lbs i keep gaining and losing the same 3lbs over and over
i am a diet coke freak myself and was just amazed on the what they said i too drink those waters with aspartame in them have u tried them or do u stay away from them.... i need to lose 100lbs but 75lbs will do **** 5lbs will do right now......
Marlene -- I wish there was a "secret" to losing weight, because then I'd be rich, but there's not. For me, it was (and is) just like your mother always said -- diet and exercise. While I was losing (it took eleven months), I ate between 1200 -- 1600 calories per day (about 50% lean protein, 25% complex carbs, and 25% good fats). I'm currently eating around 1500/calories per day because I'm trying to nudge my body fat down to 12%. I do an hour of cardio per day (running, treadmill, elliptical trainer and/or bike) and lift weights (as heavy as possible) five to six days per week.
What I rarely (5 or 6 times in 18 months) do is cheat -- either planned or unplanned -- (some programs have built in "free days" or "cheat days") and I think the day-in, day-out consistency is a big part of my success, both physically and mentally.
Good luck! I tell everyone if I can do this, anyone can!
I went to calorieking.com and have asked them to plan a diet for me and they did and put me on 1300calories a day which is fine with me cause i think i have been doing that with ww except i have one problem,,, i am on alot of meds, i have diabetes, high blood pressure, colitis, and aniexty suffer. plus i take insulin 2x a day too so the diet they came up with is great i just started it yesterday and we will see how it goes but i find i need a 10am snack as i eat breakfast around 6am so waiting till noon is too long for me so i have been eating those 90cal. special K bar
and it seems to tied me over my worse time is in the afternoon
now yesterday i did great till dinner and then i was so hungry i know i ate too much but didn't eat afterwards till this morning but i really watched and did as they said i go to ww next tues to get weighed so i will see if i lost anymore i have been stuck and it is frustrating....but i am determined my problem is i wish i had someone sitting on my shoulder keeping me busy hahahaha
Notlookingback, I know how you feel. I started ww in February and went until June and I lost only 10 pounds!!!! I didn't cheat, just ate my points and less but it just wouldn't move. I gave up because it was costing a lot of money for nothing. I started the Atkins Diet 4 weeks ago, and I am down 12 pounds, but it also has come to a dead hault. I am on my way to get my thyroid tested. I sure answer yes to many questions regarding an underactive thyroid. Something is keeping me from getting rid of these pounds. I don't eat or drink anything with Aspartame. I have a real problem with that stuff. It actually makes me sick. I end up with a terrible headache and the "runs". I wish you luck and hope you find an answer.
wow i wish u luck too i always stay under my points and all and nothing i tried exercising and still nothing it is so disgusting cause other people just lose week after week and here i am stuck i just paid for 20weeks so i will finish them out and then that is it unless by then something kicks in i really like the set up over at calorieking.com so i am doing that while i will go to ww to get weighed my mom can't understand why i can't lose weight....
i am 54 and i have heard that all my life
keep in touch
Well, Meg, you have wonderfully well. My daughter has just lost about 80 pounds on ww. She joined the running room and the gym and works out all the time. I have arthritis in my lower back and Fibromyalgia and any exercise is try leaves me in so much pain - the muscles in my lower back go into spasams. I want to start walking, but I have an Achilles Tendon that is giving me so much trouble right now. I am 56 and with all this stuff, I don't have the energy to put up with the pain and the exercise. I do walk some, and will join the rec. center for a place to walk during the winter. I am motivated, but I get to mad when nothing happens. It is very discouraging. Marlene, I understand how you feel.
well lets keep in touch to inspire each other
i had my right knee replaced last summer so i am limited on exercise too
when my achilles tendon bothered me my doctor told me to get better shoes and it worked but that is soooooooooooooo painful so i hear u loud and clear
talk soon
I'm sorry I forgot about this thread. I post on the Dieting with Fibromyalgia. Come and join us there. Not everyone has FM, and two of the ladies have bad knees. One has had two surgeries the other is going to have it done in the new year. I know we would love to have you. I finally lost 3 move pounds this week. I got some fluid pills from the Dr., as I knew I was retaining fluid. My wrist and hands really hurt and my ring was so tight I couldn't get it off. So, the pills are slowly getting rid of the fluid.
