It's taken a lot for me to face the fact that even once my current health issues are dealt with, I'm not going to feel healthy. I've got two bodies' worth in me, and I want to cut it down to one!
So many of the posts here are inspiring (miles walked, weight lost, clothing fitting) and I love reading them. Most of the time, they inspire me to see what is ahead of me. I'm just not at that point yet and sometimes it takes a lot of effort for it not to get me down. I figure there must be others out there like me (who have been sedentary for a while, are recovering from illness or injury, or whatever else may have gotten you here).
I'm happy to sneak in baby steps. It helps me keep my vision forward looking, and positive. I go up a full flight of stairs to go to the washroom instead of using the one on the 1st floor. I use ground chicken instead of ground beef, and force myself to do groceries instead of sending my hubby (even if I do use the shopping cart as a walker).
I'm sure there are a lot of other things that would help until I'm ready to transition into a specific diet or a regular exercise regimen. Anyone willing to join me in my "baby elephant walk", to share tips and expriences (and good swift kicks in the @ss when required)?
