Good morning. The camp is closed. We had a wonderful time with the missiionaries. Brad has known them for 23 years.
I am in a lot of pain and it's because I have been eating stuff I shouldn't, Y have to knock it off!! My dil's mother is at our house in FL. Evan was staying over last night, He only said yes and no to me on the phone, But he was having fun. We bought the flooring fior the apt. We are going to finish it, e have to buy everything to claim it as a disaster. I actually had to educate my acct. He thought we had to subtract 10%. I had been doing research so I was able to tell him. This is the first day I could get on this site/ Bye for now Mima Take it easy Joanne. |
Hey There
I hope I never have to have another week like this past one.. My reflux kicked in and every bite of food or drink hurt to swallow.
Yesterday I was trying to get a can off of a shelf and in the process knocked over a container of 10 lbs of dog food. Got that cleaned up and the next thing I knew I hit the floor ,hitting my head on the table. Got a nice knot on my head. It took a while to get up off the floor. This morning I went to sit down and the chair rolled out from under me and I hit the floor again. Now I have a sore wrist and behind.. and another knot on my head.. Do you think that is enough? It will be a quiet day here till I go to pharmacy. They gave me a medication I did not order. I can't imagine why the Dr. that I haven't had since 2009 called it in.. It never ends at times.. Have a good week everybody...Joanne |
Good morning everyone. Thanks for the sticky, Mandalinn. Joanne, glad to hear you are getting back to feeling better. I have an elliptical that is collecting dust in my office here. All this talk about exercising is making me feel guilty!! I have been told that an elliptical is the best exerciser for people with knee problems because it is low impact and offers a limited range of motion for the knees. Hubby has used ours on several occasions and his only complaint was that his feet started to hurt from being in one place. He is bone-on-bone in his knees so I would think he would feel it right away if it was too much for the knees. I have always felt great after using the elliptical.....too bad I haven't got the motivation to get back on it. Things have been just making me tense ans stressed out lately. Between not doing well with dieting, my aches and pains and family dramas, I can't seem to pull my big girl panties up and get motivated! My right shoulder is still hurting but I am hesitant to follow through with any appointments....I am emotionally not ready for a third surgery in less than 5 years! I am going to take my time about this one. As long as I can do my day-to-day stuff, I will be okay for now.
Weather has been mostly sunny and breezy last few days with no rain. We sure do needs some rain to help everything get green again. It has been getting a bit cooler in the evenings too but not cool enough to turn off the A/C for me yet! The mosquitoes have been a huge problem lately too. I requested a "spray' from the county in our area as I have been bitten through my repellant and clothing. Nasty little buggers!! Still don't know what their purpose for existence is! I am not crazy about spraying the neighborhood air with chemicals but getting a disease from these buggers and the intense itching I get makes spraying the lesser of the two evils. Good luck with your surgery, Anne. Hope everything turns out okay. Off to run some errands and finish cleaning the patio area. Enjoy the rest of the day. |
Hi. Hope all is well with everybody.
Joanne - Hope this week is better for you. Getting hit on the noggin isn't much fun. Hope you didn't hurt yourself, otherwise. Kate - MOTIVATION, that IS the key, isn't it. I have none of that either. Everytime I do, something happens. Now since I have had this toe fixed, I am hoping I will be able to walk some. It was almost impossible before. Hope you were able to get the spraying done. Mosquitoes have been terrible here as well, as we have had so much rain. Mima - Hope you have the new floor in by now. Is the rest of the house coming along well? Soon you will be heading back to Florida. Are you going to try rent out the basement again? This toe surgery has been an experience. I had it done on Monday. The Dr. just froze the area, but the knuckle and shot a pin into the toe. It is now sticking out of my toe, and has a hook on it. It stays in for 6 weeks, until the bone heals. Still having a hard time getting around, but thankfully, my cane comes in handy. Had that when I broke my foot a few years ago. Every now and then, I am glad I have it. Get the stitches out a week from today, and that should feel better as well. Hubby took the bandage off this morning, so I now have a bandaid on with some tape over the hook. It has been the coolest Spring, Summer and now Fall. They are talking the S word here and a killer frost tonight. I hope the snow stays to the South and doesn't make it here. Not near ready for that yet, as I am still waiting for summer. The rest of the country was baking alive, and we were below normal. Never did get any of those hot days, that I hate, but need, to get through the winter. Have to have some to complain about lol Everybody have a good day. |
Hey There
Saw my Dr. yesterday and he said I may have broken my tail bone. I will get a xray Monday to confirm.Sitting is not so easy...painful. I will look for a donut tomorrow. Looked several places today.. I will probably have to go to a medical supply store. I couldn't even find a child plastic one.
I sometimes think these problems come in bunches. Dr. says there is nothing to do but let it heal with time..That could take awhile.. Otherwise ..I hope everyone has a good weekend Joanne |
Oh-Joanne!! Brad;s aunt was suffering and they finally found out she had fractured her pelvic bone from a fall. It's awful to be in pain like that.
Got to see Lily yesterday-she was baptized in their church, which was really like a dedication. I will TRY to post a pic. She is so cute-red hair. Then we had a lunch downstairs-planned for 50 but there were probably 75. We did run out of sandwich meat but there was lots of other stuff. Lily had on a white dress embroidered with black and patent leather shoes. She is Miss Smiley!! Hope your toe surgery goes well. Anne , I am planning a big get together in October. Our last hurrah. We have the materials for the apartment. Just need to get it done. I am glad because that money comes in handy, Bye for now-Mima |
Hey There
Say my Dr yesterday. Now on top of osteoarthritis they are telling me that the blood test showed that I am positive for rheumatoid arthritis. I see another Dr, in October.. It never rains but it floods..
I bought a special pillow that is supposed to take the pressure off of tail bone area. Should have saved my money. I paid 26 dollars for it. Our son didn't know that I had got one so he got one on his way home at WW. It was only 11 dollars. What a rip off the medical supply store is.. We need rain bad again.. Hope everybody has a good day...Joanne |
Hello Ladies! I think of you often!!!!! Here is the rundown. I went to rheumatologist, she did bloodwork and found out I was anemic. Took me off of one of the arthritis meds because it can cause bleeding. Went for an endoscopy and colonoscopy. Hiatal hernia in esophagus and 4 polyps removed during colonoscopy. One of the polyps was cancer. GI doctor recommended going to Cleveland Clinic because there is a dr there doing a new type of surgery that is less invasive and faster recuperation time. I was there last week, he did a scope while I was there and took more biopsies in the area. Waiting to hear from him. If those biopsies come back clean, I may not have to have surgery.
Then, after 1 1/2 years since my last period, I started one last Saturday and it continues today. Now I'm waiting on a call back from my gyn. Just one thing after another. I hope someday to get back to posting regularly again! Love you all!!!! |

Hey There
Hello Everybody... I just wanted to say that I have not posted lately as I have been pretty sick.. I was in the hospital because I have a small clot in my right lung and pneumonia in my left lung plus I had a small heart attach again.. I am feeling better each day and getting stronger daily.
Tammy ,I hope things are going well with you.. Joanne |
I hate to butt into your group but I have a question about meds. I have major depression......for years now. I have been on about every medicine known to man. I have been on Cymbalta for the past 5 years....I know that it's often used for Fibromyalgia pain as well. Does anyone have any experiences losing weight while on this medication? Or better yet.........how in the world do I get off of it?
Any help would be appreciated! Pam |
