Ohhh...not ready to be a grammy yet. Still have teens to deal with and they are really pushing all limits.
Today have people coming over for snacks and football. Also a friend's birthday. Used to do this more often but got sick of all the prep work. Forgot what that was like. Am tired now but my house is clean. The others don't entertain at all. Kinda makes me mad. They will hint that we haven't all gotten together...and then wait for me to plan something. No wonder I ended up with fibro....they are the smart ones. |
How about me? I am not ready to be a great grandmother yet, but I understand from my son that his son and wife are to have a baby in May. Matt hasn't phoned me yet. Maybe he is waiting to make sure everything is okay. My niece had several miscarriages and so she doesn't tell anyone except her mother; but her mother tells me. Sometimes it works out this way when you want a baby and somehow seem not to be able to stay pregnant.

It's cold here and my body does not like it!
DH brought home Monical's Pizza :jeno: tonight...24 pts on half of a Hawiaian one..............then I made a new Choc chip cookie :cookie: recipe last night.(so good) :T..........I do not think I have been this bad in the whole time I have been on WW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At least the scale has not gone up yet but it is bound to catch up with me...or if I only slip up once in awhile maybe it will all work out They say no mater how many calories you consume in one day over your limit..that will not make you gain ...unless you do it on a regular basis.... so.... get right back on track! I usally do and reverse bank some too so I think it all balances out for me. I am a few under goal anyway...had to have some pounds to play with :smug: Welcome Home Meme:) Good luck Freddie! I'm not a grandma yet either...... Happy eatin Happy! Ally...I'm glad you are raing the teeen boys and mine are grown! Mima, Joanne, Serenity and Anagram  |
Hi Candice:
I wish I were a few pounds under goal. I am happy if I am within leeway and over goal. I have 2 weeks to get back in leeway. I am trying but maybe not trying hard enough. I answered you in the Night Owl thread. Freddie |
Hi guys-started on the quilt yesterday-I have to be careful of the tension it puts in my neck! You cut out lots of strips and then sew in a pattern! It's really amazing. Got such a good night's sleep-I take my hormones at night now. No mood swingas this week!!!!!It finally stopped raining but it's going to be cold. Did you fix a turkey, Anne? Hubby is working outside fixing the garage door. Did you have fun Ally? Brad is going to be a great-grandpa from one of his step-grandchildren. I don't see my step-grandchildren except for Jessica but she lives in Rhode Island. Bye for now. Hi everyone. Mima

Hope all our Canadian friends enjoyed their Thanksgiving.
Sorry, Ally, didn't mean to make you a Grammie before your time. I keep forgetting you're our baby. Ah, below goal, at goal, leeway - all strange terms to me. I think Joanne is still away all this week. Hope it's a blast. We have some sun this a.m. - first in about four days. Only to be in the fifties today (and all this week) and possibility of light frost tonight. Sister two years younger than I has been a "great" for over a year now. the Gram in this case is six months older than my dd so I recognize the fact I COULD have been a "geat" by now if things had worked differently. However, I'm happy just to be where I am in that chain of events. Other sister 14 years younger has been a Gram for 11 years so could conceivably (no pun intended) be a "great" even younger. I tease dh that he could have been a "great" 11 years ago as he's old enough to be Dad of that sister. His reply - maybe other people my age could be but not me. The only thing is I'd have had more energy had the grandkids come along a bit earlier. |
Mostly a pasteup
Had tests all day today. Get results Oct. 22nd., Came home and had this joke on my e-mail so get ready to giggle:
Getting senile An elderly couple, who were childhood sweethearts, had married and settled down in their old neighborhood, and are celebrating their fiftieth wedding anniversary. They walk down the street to their old school. There, they hold hands as they find the old desk they 'd shared, and where he had carved "I love you, Sally." On their way back home, a bag of money falls out of an armored car practically at their feet. She quickly picks it up, but they don't know what to do with it so they take it home. There, she counts the money, and it's fifty thousand dollars. The husband says, "We've got to give it back." She says, "Finders keepers." And she puts the money back in the bag and hides it up in their attic. The next day, two FBI men are going door-to-door in the neighborhood looking for the money and show up at their home. They say, "Pardon me, but did either of you find any money that fell out of an armored car yesterday?" She says, "No." The husband says, "She's lying. She hid it up in the attic." She says, "Don't believe him, he's getting senile." But, the agents sit the man down and begin to question him. One says, "Tell us the story from the beginning." The old man says, "Well, when Sally and I were walking home from school yesterday........" The FBI guy looks at his partner and says, "Let's get out of here!":) :o :o  |
That's funny Freddie... I can't remember a joke long enough to type it. Do you all get big advertising on this site....it just popped up something about BIG FAT....hey, how dare they do that after I ate like a pig yesterday!!!
Still have party food left over but will take it all in to work for the vultures. Real Fall weather here in NY, cold and brisk for our hike today. |
Well...anagram has confused me even more than I am confused already (if that is possible...having a 'fog' day!) with all those grams and great grams. :?: All I know is...if I had known grandchildren would be so much fun I would've skipped the children and just had grandchildren! But...only 2...not 4!!!
They were all four running wild one day and a real estate woman was standing on my daughter's deck watching them...I told her I would give 3 away but I couldn't decide which one I wanted to keep!!! |
Busy Weekend
Whew, back to normal again. I am getting to old for this commotion and I am NOT used to cooking these big meals anymore. Seems to get harder all the time. Oh well, in the end it was worth it.
We went to the lake this morning, walked on the beach (32 above) and it was so nice out. Little Ashley fed the Seagulls, went fishing with a stick she found, and played in the dried leaves. Had a great time. Then we came home and got stuff ready for dinner. Had turkey, dressing, mashed potatos with gravy, turnip/sweetpotato/carrot mashed, raw veggies, pumkin pie with whipped cream. Everyone enjoyed it and ate to much - now here is the good news - ME! I had turkey, brussel sprouts, cauliflower and salad veggies. For dessert, I had some concontion that was really good and legal. I was actually proud of myself for not caving, but I only have until Thursday and I will have made it through the induction period of Atkins. Feeling good, having less pain, and no fatigue, so it was well worth it. This thread is getting long, so I will start a new one. Freddie - cute joke. |
Ally0306: I didn't type the senile joke. I just had received it. I copied it and then I pasted it in the last reply. If it had any mistakes in it, it was on the copied pasteup. I can't tell a joke to save my life. Sometimes I try, but I always ruin it by forgetting the punch line.

Hi Gals and newcomers.
Nice to hear you all so chatty. Meme - the beach looks just great. Sat on the beach here in parka and boots with snow swirling around me the other day. We are just a little south of Gimli - the Iceland town of Canada. It is only about a 40 min drive from here. Had one tupperware party and did over 500 so it was a good start. Have another on Monday nite. Have the grandkids sleeping over tonite. Nice to be back at my computer, my kids gave me this for my 62 birthday - I had never used one before that. I try to check into the chat once in a while but hardly ever find anyone there to chat with. I really enjoy - when I do get in. My diet is blown - too much turkey etc etc. Shall try to keep up with you all this week. Serenity |
Back again gals
Forgot - all you people near the sniper - please take care. I hope today will pass without another person being taken. Yesterday was another terrible day and we here in Canada are praying for you. Serenity |
The sniper is near my niece and her daughter who goes to kindergarten - about 2.5 hours from here if you drive fast. It always takes me 4 hours to get to her house.
I know she must be frantic when she goes shopping or to school or anywhere. She is close to US Route 95. This morning it sounded like they had some good information about the sniper. He may stay put for a while. I really think they should remain quiet about what they know until they catch him. The old slogan "Loose lips, lose ships" still applies. Freddie |
