Default Anyone dealing with LOW blood pressure / hypotension?

I wanted to know if anyone else has a problem with low blood pressure?
I run very low, sometimes as low as 80/50. My usually though is systolic in the 90's and diastolic in the 60's. (95/65, for example)
I am symptomatic sometimes, light headed, dizziness, and passing out. I've been to a cardiologist a few times to make sure it was nothing cardiac related. I'm an RN myself, and really it just boils down to having a family history of very low BP, and not much I can do but stay hydrated and try to sit down and put my feet up if I become symptomatic. In the long run, every doc says (and they're right) its better than having high BP, and they'd rather not put me on a med to raise it. I agree, except for when I'm find myself laying down in the middle of the living room because I feel like I'm going to pass out.

Even at my heaviest weight, my BP is no more than like 100/70...but when I start an exercise regiment and start losing weight, my BP lowers just like a person with high blood pressure that loses weight. I am very good about staying well hydrated to ward off symptoms, but it the one thing I hate about losing weight and exercising. The symptoms become more frequent, and I get light headed/ dizzy several times a day.

Anyone else have low BP issues??

Yes I do! I know exactly how you feel. There are some days that I am alright, but most days I'm so dizzy, and I find the more I workout and the more weight I lose, the dizzier I am. Which makes me not want to work out! I hate running and feeling like I'm going to pass out!!!!

For me its the worse in the morning, which is when I prefer to run. It definately makes me not want to exercise, only because getting started I often feel lightheaded. Once I get running, I'm ok, figure my HR increases and the muscles in my legs are contracting quickly so it helps, but once I stop... I'm light headed again!

I have issues with low blood pressure and heart disease. Between the two, working out is very difficult. My BP runs low naturally, 80/50 average, and my heart rate runs very high. The medication to lower my heart rate also lowers my BP. I am medically restricted from most exercising regimes because of the type of heart disease I have but it doesn't really matter because I'm too tired from the low BP to motivate myself to workout anyway. It's not fun, that's for sure.

I have it too! I get light headed and starry eyed and have to sit, lol. I have a low heart rate, too.. Resting, even at my highest weight was between 55 and 60 bmp. Sigh.

Low BP runs in my family, and its only gotten worse as I've lost weight. I take it myself once a week to keep tabs on it...

The only time it's not low is when I go to the doctor, lol. Since my mom passed away (and was in the hospital for 9months before that) I have the dreaded 'white coat syndrome' and I freak out. But even then, it's a "normal" reading... sigh.

Hi
Just jumping in here.
I have low blood pressure and the doctors here won't believe that it is normal for me (I live in Japan, where if you are fat you have high blood pressure!!).
At the moment I am in pain with back problems and that has pushed my blood pressure up to 120 over 70!! The first time in ages I don't feel dizzy from low blood pressure but am passing out from pain, can't win!! One thing helps me is a drop of wine at night, maybe a mouthful or so (I don't like alchol) but when I know that my mornings are going to be busy I find a drop of wine helps me to get going in the morning!!
And as much as having low BP the opposite is worse. Hubby has high BP, didn't get it seen to until too late and now has kidney and heart problems. His life style is restricted and so is his diet.
Take care
Jackie
