Fibromyalgia #192
Hi. Not dead, but sure felt like I was heading that way lol That darn virus thing I had, started on the 7 March and is still hanging on, but dwindling each day. Coughing and tons of phyleum (sp). Thought I would drown on the stuff. Missed 2 weeks of work, did a couple of part days last week, but then was just plain tired. This too shall pass.
Kate - If you need a kick in the behind to get going, here it is  It isn't easy, but you CAN do it. I don't know how your insurance works. Alberta Health Care has cut chiropactors from their coverage. We do have private insurance that covers it however. If I didn't I would still have to find the money somehow, as it's the only thing that keeps me going. Glad your company is just coming to dinner, so then you can enjoy them. Meme - nice to see you are still kicking, even if it isn't too high! You are still as busy as ever. Mima - did baby arrive yet? Hope all went (or goes) well. Tammy - where are you??? Joanne - glad you got some rain. As far as the brace go, I guess be thankful it helps, and do worry about how it looks. Well, now, I turned a year older on the 23 March. Helped my son and DIL move into their new house. It is finally finished inside, but of course, a big mess outside, as most of it is now mud, with the Spring thaw. That will get better as times goes on. One thing at a time. My gd will be 12 yrs old on the 3 Apr. I can't believe how fast this time has gone. My baby gd will be 4 on the 21 May. Well, I am going to say goodnight. Have a good day tomorrow. |
When you are over weight
You are not healthy When you are not healthy You tend to over eat Break this cycle By making healthy choices And watch your health improve And the better you will feel The more good food you feed your body The better it runs And the happier you are It takes work, but this kind of work produces the most marvelous results ............. A day comes along and you just need to blow it ........ do ....... but jump right back on that horse and continue the run Some motivation for you!!! |
Hey There
We have had a nice bit of rain and some more last night.. I am a little strange as I like the rain. I have a sister that gets depressed with that kind of weather. I think it is peaceful.
We are supposed to go to our daughters next weekend. There seems to be some problems with the plan and that has made me a little upset. We were going with our son but his wife's ex brother in law died and she thinks she needs to be there. I will wait a couple days and see what our son tells us and then we may plan to go without them. I would like to go up earlier anyhow. I had both shoulders injected. That helped for a few days. Last night I moved and the right shoulder said hello. Pain all night.. I am not sure what I am going to do. I can't have surgery. Just grin and bare it ,I guess. Happy Birthday, Happy.. Enough about my woes.. I hope everybody has a good week...Joanne |
Hey There
Well we will be going to our daughters with our son. I am relieved about that. Our car is not in the best shape for a 200 mile trip. My hubby also should not be driving that far. He is one of these men who believes he is the only driver. Between you and me he isn't that good a driver anymore. he is 84. I am constantly on alert. And nervous.
We are finally going to get warmer weather. I am tired of being cold. Of course when the hot weather gets here I will want the cool weather. The sun is out and the birds are loud and busy. Joanne |
Hi Joanne. I guess it's just you and me. I wonder where everybody went?? I hope Mima wasn't in on all that flooding. They already had enough problems. I guess perhaps she is busy with the baby. I sure hope all went well with the birth and that mom and baby are doing well.
Have a nice trip. Glad your son is doing the driving. My aunt hates to go anywhere with my uncle driving. She is a nervous wreck. He is 82. Not much is new. Just Spring had come in like a lamb, and it has gone out like a lamb. Last year, we didn't get Spring until June it seemed. All the snow is gone, so when it does snow again, it will melt very quickly. Have a great Easter. |
I haven't stopped all week and I'm soooooo tired. Between customers, funerals, cooking for funerals, getting music ready for 3 services at church, practicing that music and taxes I'm about ready for a vacation ... about a month's worth. I have to have a day off and tomorrow is IT.
After the funeral today (and cooking), I went shopping for something to wear Easter. Found a multi color, layered skirt, light peach ss sweater top and green 3/4 sleeve jacket, green strappy sandles and multi purse and even got matching jewelry. I told hubby it was my one spring outfit. I'm not buying a lot this year. I can wear the jacket, top and jewelry with other things ... not sure about the shoes. The purse will go with about anything. It is beige with brown straps and has big circles of peach, green and a couple of other colors. I'm thinking the shoes may only match that outfit or that jacket, though. (but they're so cute!) :p I love Penney's. Going to bed and going to stay there as long as possible! Oh ... had to come back and say I hope baby & Mom is ok ... I thought I said that but I'm half asleep and I didn't read back. And I'm glad you''re getting better Anne & happy BD. Jenna turned 11 this mo. Doesn't seem possible, does it? |
lost my pst-have sinus problems and was in bed 24 hours. Suzanne waS in labor 24 and of course she is beautiful, I will write more and hopefully post a pic Mima
|
Glad they are ok, Mima. Hope you feel better.
Docs office called today and said my blood count (had tests Mon.) is at the bottom again. Surprise! I just know I'm super tired. Stayed in bed until noon today. They're having communion services at church tonight and preacher told me what songs he wanted, etc. Sorry ... I'm just tooooo tired. Boy it sure was pretty here today, upper 70s. |
Good morning-yes, we had another flood and Brad was running 3 pumps. Our whole apt was under water til yesterday-there was a river in the lr. But it has stopped. And when I go to Suzanne;s next week, he will rip up the rest of the floors. We have to wait til we can live in the camper to put the floors in-after May 15th.
The baby is beautiful-Lillian Alicia weighs 6 lbs 14 oz, Suzanne is nursing but supplemented with a bottle last night because her milk wasn;t in. And Lily was much happier. I am always on facebook to see if there are any new pics. Feel better meme. Auntie has the same problem with her blood and they don;t seem to be able to get her straightened out. Bye for now before i lose my post-will try to post a pic later. ima |
Hey There
HAPPY EASTER EVERYBODY..
Feel better Meme.. Sometimes I wish I could stay in bed at least beyond 8 a.m. Mima- I wondered if you were flooded. I hope all this can get better for you.. Yes, Happy our son id driving us up to N/Fla. very early in the morning. We will all stay till Tuesday. I am hoping for a nice visit and Easter weekend. Our daughter picked up the G/son yesterday and is keeping him till Sat. The parents will then take over. He is such a good baby, it is a joy to keep him. I am anxious to see him tomorrow. Have a good weekend Kate and rest.. With all you are always doing it sounds like you need to.. Bye you guys till next week...Joanne |
Happy for you, Joanne. Parents and baby seem to be doing well . She sends me pictures every day.
Went to doctor's yesterday and got a prescription. I feel better already. Big problem with the tenant-she's been told not to have overnight guests but someone is always there. getting better with the flood but not there yet.But the weather is gorgeous. Going out to eat tomorrow, Happy Easter Mima |
Hi ladies. Once again, I haven't been here. Just lots of things going on around here and in my head. There were some issues with Tim's future MIL, so I've been a bit out of it about that. Things are ok now as far as I know. It could change tonight though. oh my.
Anne, I hope by now you are feeling better! So sorry to hear that it has been hanging on for that long. HappyBirthday a little bit late! My chiropractor isn't on my insurance either, but I have found that it is well worth it to pay the money for someone that I like and trust. Joanne, I don't mind the rain most of the time, but when it has rained for days, that's when I get depressed from it. Glad things worked out that you could go with your son to visit your daughter. Hope it was a nice trip. So sorry to hear that the shoulder injections didn't work longer than they did. That has to be so frustrating. Meme, you are always so busy! You need a long break! Your Easter outfit sounds nice. I like Penneys also. Mima, sorry about the problems from the flooding. Congrats on the new baby!! Tim's fiance has been here this weekend. They were able to get all of the shower gifts washed up and put away, and they were organizing the apartment. May 15 will be here before we know it! They worked on my enclosed porch today. It looks so much better. Clean windows always make me smile. I hope you have all had a wonderful day and a Happy Easter! |
What a looooong day. Got up at 4 and was @ Sunrise service @ 6 then we had a breakfast at church. Then off to the radio station to sing @ 8:30 and back home to change for the 10:30 service at church and out to eat. Between the 2 worship services, radio and choir, I wound up having to sing 15 songs this morning ... my voice was almost completely gone by the time the last service was over. We sang Christ Arose outside and right when we started singing the sun litterally 'popped' up from behind the trees. It was awesome. It was almost as if it was right on cue and had been waiting for us to begin. I got chills. A beautiful day. Hope you all had a great Easter, too. And now it is tomorrow so I'm going to bed. Have to get up in 4 hrs ... Jenna is coming to spend the day with me. :)
Tammy, we have been dealing with a worrisome in-law just like yours for about 20 years now so I know how you feel. 'Ours' is totally unpredictable - you never know if they are going to be up or down and it's not fun. For our child's sake we grit our teeth and live with it. I used to worry, lose sleep, fuss ... none of it did any good so I quit. Now I just leave them alone until I have to deal with them in a social situation and then I try to forget what happens and leave it there. After all, what else can you do? (unless you want to start world war 3!) |
I hate it when I lose my post after much typing.
We are selling the house and tenant has already agreed to move-they don't get it that people not on the lease can't live there. We are aiming for June 1st. To start cleaning upstairs, that is. We can get in the campground on May 15, when Brad can start the floors here. Going to Suzanne's today to stay for 3 nights. Hope I can sleep. That Lily is gorgeous. Hmm-I think I am prejudiced. Tell me about mil's-tammy-such a fiasco when I tried to help Angela with the wedding and her mother undid stuff. I am forunate that Bob;s mil is nice. Going to post before I lose it. Mima |
Meme, hope you had fun with Jenna! It's weird about the future MIL because when she is around us, things are good. Then Tim hears about things she has done and said to the fiance, and it's like a smack in the face. Last week I honestly thought she was going to cancel the church and the reception hall.
Mimi, had you planned on selling the house? Tell the roomie that the other person can stay, but double the rent! I can't wait till the wedding is over so there might not be so much drama!! Enjoy your time at Suzanne's!! |
Jenna decided to stay over so we had 2 days together. Love that kid ... but she doesn't sleep well (like her Meme). She slept the first part of the night and woke up about 1:30 then didn't go back to sleep 'till nearly 5 so I didn't get much sleep because she got back up around 9. We had fun, though. Taught her to crochet, took her to visit hubbys parents and to WM for crochet hook and thread. We got pizza and Baskin Robbins for dinner tonight. She is a very good little girl.
I've been so tired lately. Been using hubbys meter to test my sugar and it has been pretty low. Was just 69 yesterday morning. They say it should be between 70-100 when you 1st get up, but 70 is low. I ate every few hrs all day long and even had a candy bar last night and we never did get it over 100 all day. Then today it was 74 when I got up and I had M & Ms about 2 this morning. I ate every 2 or 3 hrs today, had pizza and 2 icecream cones tonight and it was only 84 before I went to bed. I've been reading up on hypoglycemia and from what I've read all you can really do about it is eat high protein and the right kind of carbs often. Guess I'm going to be going on a diet! If it keeps up, I'll have to go back to the Dr. and try to figure out what is causing it. I don't drink & just had my liver checked so I know it isn't that and I haven't had any stomach surgery so that is out. Not on any of the meds that might cause it, at least I don't think I am ... I'm going to wait a few days and see if it continues. Going to the Rheumatologist next Mon, I may ask him about the meds, he should know. I just had blood work done and my CBC is way down again so between the anemia and this I don't have any energy at all. On the plus side ... I FINALLY GOT MY TAXES FINISHED TODAY! YIPEE!!! |
Hey There
Tammy - Sometimes it isn't possible to get along with MIL's they are so afraid that you are going to have some control. Thank God I didn't have that problem with our sons second marriage, the first was a nightmare although we were paying for everything. Even their sons tux. My daughters wedding was good. we payed for everything but a dinner the night before. If there is drama now you can expect to have it forever..
We had a nice Easter weekend in N/Fl. It was so nice to see our kids laughing and getting along with each other. There was some problems in the past caused by his wife. She has a way of finding a problem if something is misunderstood that we say. I try to be careful how I state things around her. She will run to the son and there it goes.. Hope you feel better Meme. Got lots of laundrey so I better get to it..Joanne |
Joanne ... I have one of THOSE! Been living with it for 20 years now. She thinks I love my daughter's kids more than I do my son's. Not true. Daughter's kids call us and beg to come over. Daughter calls, emails or texts almost every day about something. Never hear from son unless he needs something. Hard saying but true. His kids never call either. We used to go over but a few years ago we asked to come over 4 different times and was told we couldn't because DIL either didn't feel good, was laying down or packing for a trip ... some excuse or other. We don't bother them much and they never visit us unless it's a holiday or we invite them for dinner ... that got old, they would just eat and leave, so we stopped. We have to have the kids to spend the night if we get to see them - so we don't see them a lot. Daughter calls and wants to go eat or has us over to her house to eat, etc. A lot of difference. Son just doesn't understand and thinks we play favorites. DUH!
|
Meme, that is so neat that you taught Jenna how to crochet! Can't go wrong with pizza and ice cream! Boy, your sugar really has been low. bob's dad's was always low too. Me too on the Taxes!!!!
Joanne, I really don't want the drama. I guess since Lauren is moving here, maybe that's part of the problem? Her other 2 kids don't live near her either - one in Chicago, the other in Michigan. I don't think she and Lauren have ever been really close though. The mom has mentioned moving to Michigan, so that's part of the reason Tim and Lauren decided to move this direction. That is wonderful that your family had a nice Easter together!!! Tim gets off work soon, and he said he is taking me out for dinner. With his crazy schedule, we don't see each other much, so it will be nice to just sit and chat since he doesn't have work or school tonight (rare!!!). |
Hey There
Tammy- I hope you had a nice dinner with your son..
I have been in a lot of pain with my shoulders for the past few days. Not getting much sleep. The pain meds only take the edge off for a while.. Like the knee ,I can't have surgery.. If this doesn't get better I will go to Dr. next week and tell him something has to be done. The injections didn't work.. Have a nice weekend everybody... Joanne |
Hi. The ground was white this morning. Quite a Spring storm last night. First rain, then wind - lot's and lot's of strong wind, and then snow blowing everywhere. Always makes it far worse when the wind helps out. Anyway, It will be gone by this afternoon and we need the mositure, however, we get it.
Mima - You are selling your house and moving to the campground?? Do I have that right. Then what, will you buy something else, or just move to Florida? Enjoy baby. Joanne - so sorry you are in such pain. It's terrible when NOTHING helps. Hope the Dr. can help you out. Glad you had a nice Easter trip. Tammy - hope you and Tim had a nice dinner. Sometimes it is hard to get these young ones away, even for a few hours, as they are very busy people. As for the inlaw, just ignore and continue with what you want to do. Never could figure out why some people need to be so involved in everybody else's life!!!! Both my kids made their own choices, and like it or lump it, it is their life. Nobody is perfect, but we all have to over look stuff. Meme, Meme, Meme - what in the world are we going to do with you. You just keep pushing yourself so hard. It's time for you to slow down and look after yourself. I know you said you were slowing down, but it hasn't happened, as everybody just keeps piling stuff onto you. Glad you and Jenna had a couple of nice days together. Well, Spring weather has always caused me nothing but pain, with it's ups and downs; hopefully, it will soon stableize. Did really well from Feb until just a couple of days ago, painwise, and starting Wednesday, the pain rolled in with the weather!! Oh well, this too shall pass. Hi Kate. Hope all is well with you. Everybody have a good day. |
Well. I am back. so wonderful helping with the baby, but Suzanne was worried about me not getting enough sleep etc-finally slept on the couch. Actually took care of Lily while Suzanne went on an errand. At 71, I can still do it,
Brad ripped up the rest of the floors, except for under the sink. Thank God, there is no mold.I will repeat that-thank God there is no mold. We were not planning on selling but we were not meant to be landlords and owning a house and living in FL. All I know now is that we can live in the campground from may 15-Columbus Day. We will get storage for now also. The rest is unknown. We are living on cement for now. Would love to have bobby make a studio apt in his house-we would give him the money-and have a place for the short time we are not in FL. Bye for now-Mima |
Good morning all! I know, it's been awhile but I am still around and causing trouble!:carrot:
I had to read through most of the posts so I could find out what has been going on. Mima, two floods in your apartment....wow! I would want to sell too....and I never found it easy to have renters. We did that the first 2 years we owned our FL house and it was a nightmare...a long distance one as well! Are you planning to move down this way permanently if you sell? I can't imagine you would want to be that far away from a new grandchild (congratulations BTW:D) but I have to ask anyways. I hope everyone had a great Easter with family. Hubby and I kept it simple, just the two of us. It's been quiet around my house with the exception of our rental neighbors behind us. They are becoming very obnoxious...but we tend to be the kind of people who "live and let live", if you know what I mean? I just quietly wish they woiould find somewhere else to move to. Well Tammy, the wedding date is getting closer! Loved the dress you showed us on Facebook...and try not to mind the inlaws. Things can get awfully tense and stressful just before a big event. I'm sure you worry about Tim and all these little things but you've done a good job raising him so things will be be fine. I've scheduled my consultation with my doctor for the dreaded colonoscopy....isn't everyone proud of me here? I had my mammogram last week and my regular doctors visit too. I haven't lost anymore weight but I am not gaining so I guess that is something. I have been having an awful time with my lower back though. I am even having trouble walking because of the discomfort....pains in my thighs and groin area. I am making an appointment with a new chiropractor this week to see if I can get back on track. None of the medication is working now and my doctor put me on Flexeril (a muscle relaxer) and Amitryptaline(sp?) which is a antidpressant similar to Lyrica I think. It is suppose to help with my sleep at night which I have not been getting for the past few weeks. Both sides of my "butt" have a deep throbbing at night when I lay down. I am feeling like this all has to do with my lumbar spine issues. I'll find out when I see the chiropractor. Just another day in the life, huh? Well, off to get housework done. Hubby and I are going to power wash the pool patio next Sun and get the carpets shampooed. We will most likely be closing up and turning on the A/C very soon. The weather has been getting warmer by the day. I want the house to be clean and fresh when we do. Hubby is also on a diet and has lost about 18 pounds. Why is it men always lose faster than women??:?: Makes me crazy! Hope everyone is feeling well and enjoying spring....I'll try to get back here more often! Bye for now. |
Good morning-Lily is great-we are meeting for lunch tomorrow so my aunt and sil can see her. Halfway.
We can'y move-Lily and 3 others. Keith was so happy to see his Grandpa on Sunday-That would be Brad;s grandson. Sent the notice yesterday by certified mail-really like Debbie but the son moved his gf in after Brad told him not too. And they are smoking in the house-have to get rid of that smell. And redo the br which other son painted RED and ruined the rug. In the meantime we are doing ok-living on cement but furniture will go back in place today-can't work on the floors til May 15. It;s going to take time. Men and weight loss!!!! But that's good for him. getting my meth shot today-lol -methotrexate, Bye -missed the dress Tammy. Mima |
Hey There
Men have more muscle and can lose faster than we can. My hubby will just not eat when he wants to lose and then gets a lot of joy in telling me how mush he lost.. I want to smack him one..
I have been watching a pair of birds nesting in my yard. They are large ,gray with a black head and the top is bright yellow and a yellow streak along each side of the head. I have looked all over the net trying to find out what kind they are. No luck. I may go to book store and find a book on bird in Fl.Frustrating!Any ideas? My daughter was walking her dog and talking to me last evening when she cried out and then told me her dog got bit by a cottonmouth snake. At first I thought it was her. She called me back and said the vet said to just watch for swelling . The dog may not have gotten the venom. She walks a trail along her fence line on the ranch. Well to say the least I yelled at her and told her to stay away from that area. She said she wasn't going there again. She fell in some brier (sp) bushes and that wasn't good. I am still having a lot of pain with my shoulders.. Life is not for sissies I think I would have already kicked out the tenants. My son at one time has some houses he was renting. He went to one and found out they had a groy house set up and the other was trashed. He soon got rid of all of them and sold the houses. Too much trouble.. Stay well.. Joanne |
Tim and I had a very nice time at dinner last week. We ended up going to Ruby Tuesdays. I hadn't been there in ages. The food was yummy.
Joanne, I wish there was something the doctors could do for the pain you are having. Keeping you in prayers for relief. Your hubby saying that about the weight loss sounds just like Bob used to, and I DID smack him!!!! Those birds sound very pretty, but I have no idea what it would be. Let us know when you find out. Oh my word to your daughter and the dog! I agree about staying away from that area. Anne, sorry to hear that the spring weather is bringing you pain. I hope that I don't turn in to a meddling mother-in-law after the kids get married and live here in town. Tim said that I'm always busy, so I won't see them much. lol Mima, you are so fortunate that there is no mold! I know people who have had to completely gut their homes because of mold. That would be great for you if bobby could make a studio apt. for you guys. Boo on the guy moving his gf in after you said no! And ruining the carpet too! I've tried to post pictures on here, but I've never figured out how to do it. Facebook is easier. Kate, I can come down and make lots of obnoxious noise in your yard aimed at the people behind you. Maybe that would make them move. lol thanks about the dress! I really like it. I think I might be the only one who is staying relatively calm about the upcoming wedding. Of course, I'm just in charge of getting the rehearsal dinner organized. I do think that Bob and I did a good job raising Tim. He is really a good kid (man?). I still haven't had a colonoscopy. Not looking forward to having one, but I know that I should. I have Flexeril, but I don't even remember the last time I took it. It really knocks me out when I take it. Good for hubby for losing 18 pounds, but I'm with you about us not being able to lose that way. |
Hey There
I found the birds on the net. They are Yellow- Crownded Night Heron. They feed at night in the shore waters and eat small fish, crabs and crayfish, eels tadpoles aquatic insects etc. They usually have 4-5 eggs in nest. Now if a snake doesn't get the eggs we will have babies. but the birds also eat snakes. That's good. I live a block from a bayou out of the Gulf.
The daughter and the dog are fine. she is just scraped up. He is a large rottwieler. (SP) Need to find my dictionary no spell check on this site.. :( I wish my shoulders would get better. The Dr. says there isn't much more he can do but inject them every 3 months. Joanne |
I'm going to check out those birds! Hope the snakes don't get the eggs.
eeeeewwww to injections every 3 months. |
I have a gf who knows all about birds but I am glad you found out.
We stilll have 2 more places to rip up. One is easy but not the other. This whole situation has me depressed. The tenant's father died and she hasn't picked up the letter yet-she has a po box. Very cool today-possible snow showers. Thinking of calling to work for the census-but not door to door. I did it in 2000 and I only did large buildings. Loved it. Bye for now. Mima |
Hey There
My son came over yesterday to show me how to use the shock collar on Christie. I have to stop her attitude before she pulls me down and I break a hip or something. It gets her attention. Although she went after a kid on a bike before I found the right button and she didn't stop when I did. So I set it higher. She is a very stubborn dog when she wants something.
My son said not to tell anyone about the birds or I might have people in the yard. Mima- I hope that you can get your floors fixed soon and sell the place.. That would make me crazy too. Too bad the tenants were not down stairs then they would be gone. Pray for my son ,he is trying to get a Grant for school. He starts in July. My daughter hurt her hip about 2 months ago in school. She bumped it on her desk at school and injured a nerve, She has been to Dr.'s ever since. She was turned down for a MRI. Her insurance will not pay for it. Her Dr. said it was because of the Obama health care plan. How about that???What a mess he has made. OK, I still have more to iron.. Joanne |
Well-it's starting-the health care mess. Aspercreme?? Love that stuff.
We went to couples Bible study-so much fun. Even though we got home late. we slept late. Going to look at a fancy campground today-still exploring our options. I will just have to keep busy til we get the floors done. Brad ripped out the closet yesterday. Cold-brrr-39. Mima |
Good morning all. A cloudy day here in FL and it looks like we may get some rain today. That's okay, we do need the moisture for all the lush green we are now getting. Hubby had to go into to work this morning so we will be powerwashing the patio tomorrow. I informed my neighbors on each side of me but not the obnoxious ones in the back:devil: (Hope they get up early on Sundays!!) We need to get this done....and we have some friends from back home stopping in for a visit sometime this week. He is a police captain on the force where we used to live and he and his wife are visiting her brother who lives here. Hopefully we will get together one evening. Getting a bit warmer here but we still have the house opened up. I'll be having the carpets shampooed next week in time for closing up and putting the A/C on for the season. It always takes me awhile to get used to being "closed up". I really do not enjoy the summers here but have no choice but to deal with it.
Worked for a friend in her pet supply shop for a few days last weekend so she could take some personal time. It was a nice change for me but left me feeling extremely sore!! Lifting 40 pound bags of dog food isn't easy when you are not used to it. Made some extra money that she will ultimately get back in the way of supplies for Queenie, I'm sure! Not having any luck with my pain management so I am going to have to get my butt to a chiropractor. We lost our fridge in the garage (which I rely on heavily for overflow!) and had to buy another one. Then we had to have 4 new tires put on the truck because the other ones were cracked all around the outside wall...and only had 35,000 miles on them! That's the FL sunshine for you... it destroys rubber! Now we are having the irrigation system re-vamped because my builder did not put the "shrub beds" on a seperate zone. The shrub beds are getting too much water so we have to have those beds seperated from the lawn zones. I'm becoming very depressed with all this money going out....but what can you do, right? Have to keep up the maintenance on your property, that's for sure. Well, off to run a couple of errands and wash the truck before it rains! Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the weather. |
Hey There
We got a nice soft rain most of the day..I know well about obnoxious neighbors. They are now moved on . It seemed that they were always fighting with family via the cell phone out in the yard. I kid you not they could be heard two blocks away.. Police there often. They had teenagers. They skipped school and the house was always full during the day. One neighbor told me they were selling pot/drugs. I am not surprised. a couple of them tried to get a dollar out of me . They blocked the sidewalk . I just told them I had no money which that didn't satisfy them. So I just let Christie take care of the problem.. She went for their ankles. The hubby felt that if I called the police they would do something worse. My daughter thought I should have called. I didn't tell my son as he may have gone over there and then there would have been trouble..
Yes the health care mess has started and looks to get worse. What happened to that promise of no more taxes? And all the other things promised that anyone with any brains would not believe.. All those checks that were given out! Well now it is going to be payback time.. Last night and today was not so good for me.. Constant pain in my shoulders.. Hope everyone is well...Joanne |
Good morning-posted a post that disappeared, I think I touch somethind with my left hand,
I think I am depressed about all this situation. We are now planning on moving back upstairs, getting 2 rooms wallpapered, hopefully only washing other walls to get the smoke out, and tiling down here and possibly getting an agent to find a renter for downstairs,The thing about selling is that we have nowhere to go-the campgrounds around here are not someplace you want to love for 6 months, We could buy a mobile home but Brad doesn't want t0 do that-I would. Suzanne was very upset yesterday-they went to visit her MIL who was holding the baby and the dog was jumping and scratched the baby's face. She also kept telling her that she wasn't feeding the baby enough-Suzanne says that if she gives her more than 2 and a half ounces, she throws up. The baby has a lot of gas-she does have an appt today, One day at a time for me-Mima |
Good morning everyone. Mima, my sister had a very colic prone baby. It was brutal for her because the baby always seemed to be crying or throwing up! Poor Suzanne....she must have her hands full with a new baby and a pain in the a** MIL. Hope she learns to let things slide! You might want to get any heater ducts cleaned in your upstairs apartment as well.....cigarette smoke seems to cling to the inside of those ducts and can linger forever. Stanley Steemer does that kind of cleaning....but I don't know how much they charge.
Got our patio powerwashed yesterday even though it rained all day. Like Joanne, we had a steady light rain all day. I even washed all the sliders going out to the patio. Thursday I get the carpets shampooed. Found a great rug cleaning service here that does not use hot-water extraction...they use a commercial grade foam with a machine to work it into the rugs. Drying time is about 1 hour and carpets look brand new and smell fresh. Those obnoxious neighbors renting the house behind us have been fairly quiet lately. They hang out in their garage smoking and drinking beer. I think they must feed their kids raw meat the way they scream and carry on! We'll be closing the house up and putting the A/C on soon so we won't hear them much. We go out to swim in the pool daily all summer but we put the waterfall on to mask any noise. Mima, have you considered selling your place and looking for a condo? Some of the condos are really nice and built with noise reduction stuff. The yearly fees take care of all your misc. services so you don't have to worry about paying all those different companies. They also keep an eye on your condo when you go away for the winter, vacation, etc. Just a thought. Off to get some work done. I have an irrigation guy coming today to revamp my system. He has to put all my "beds" on one zone and get them off the lawn ones. He's changing some of the heads to the new water efficient ones too. Doesn't seem to be any end to this maintenance stuff....guess it goes with being a homeowner. I think hubby and I will definitely look into a condo when we retire. Hope everyone enjoys the day!! Sunny and gorgeous here right now....maybe more rain later though. Bye for now. |
Took a while but I read everyone's posts. Sounds like everybody is having the 'spring to summer' aches and pains. Every time the season changes I ache like the flu. Had a rough weekend (well, all week really) so I stayed in bed most of the day today. Told hubby last night I wasn't doing anything and that included customers ... and I didn't. His dad turned 92 last week so I very stupidly agreed to have his BD party here - 18 people. We grilled so had to clean inside and out; was a lot of work and now I'm paying for it.
Glad you're getting to enjoy the baby, Mima. and glad you got to enjoy dinner with Tim, Tammy. Seems like when we get older we don't get to spend enough time with our kids. Yes, Anne, I guess I do too much for my age and condition but I'd rather stay active and have a life than to just go to bed and stop living. Now that the taxes are done and the house is 'fairly' clean, daughter and I have a yard sale planned for the 15th of May. Her whole neighborhood has a yard sale on that Sat. so I'm taking my things to her house. I'll be gathering things up and pricing them for that next. I dread it but I have a lot of stuff I need to get rid of. Kate, you're getting ready to close your house up right when we are opening ours ... weird. It has turned cool this week but last week it was in the upper 70s and we were able to have the french door and a couple of window open. Felt good to let the fresh air in. Joanne, your birds sound so pretty. I wouldn't tell anyone about them either. I wouldn't want people coming around. We have rattlers, black snakes, chicken snakes and a few copper heads but no cotton mouths close by. I thought they lived near water. I hate snakes almost as bad as I do spiders. Ugh. |
Nice to hear from everyone. Sorry you are hurting Meme.
we are going to the funeral of Debbie's father today. I told Debbie we needed to separate the landlord stuff from our relationship with her,We really like her. And she always paid the rent .But............................. The latest decision is to move back upstairs-get 2 rooms wallpapered, have someone clean the walls-and ducts??? And we also are going to try to sell our camper-don't need 3 places-can use the money from the camper to fix up this house. As far as the downstairs, it would only be rented through an agent. Selling the house is for the future-but it will be a lot more sellable when we are done. Condo is probably out. We looked at campgrounds but not one was nice enough. We an live here for the price of the taxes which are 2800. And we have no mortgage. And upstairs will be very nice and I can entertain again. I feel much more hopeful. Mima |
Hey There
Mima- I hope this works for you. I agree that it is sometimes better to fix and stay . Down here I see where people who rent out do it sometimes to only retirees. They have few problems that way.
Meme- I live a block from a bayou.. my daughter has a swampy area on her property. That is where she found the snake. She tells me she doesn't walk that way anymore. It is not safe in that area and she runs a risk being back there with just a dog. With homeless and mexican workers about you never know the risk. Have a good week everybody..Hubby calling for me to do something again!!! Joanne |
Had to laugh when you said hubby was calling you to do something. You sound so much like us. I have close to 2 yrs. (his plan) 'till mine will be home all the time and I dread that. He will call me to come find something for him that is right in front of his nose. ;) Sugar was in 70s again this morning ... has been 72-75 every morning for 2 wks now. Dr. app. tomorrow morning. Maybe we'll figure it out ... I'm so tired all the time.

Hey There
Meme- Mine has been home 27 years . How about those apples? And he is still alive.. I am always busy.. He can't find anything or surely doesn't try..More fun!!
now I will close and go for a walk with Christie. I can't walk as far these days. It is in the 80's here now. Summer is here.. |
