I'm in fantastic shape with my Fibro right now. I've been working on learning to manage it for 10 years now, and (if I do say so myself) I'm doing really well right now. I've got a good selection of meds that work for me, I've got my sleep working well, I have 2 chiropractic appts and a fibro therapy support group every week, a massage every week and a half, PT every other week, the Osteopath every 4 weeks, and a few other appts thrown in there, but except for working around appointments I'm working full time at a reasonably stressful corporate job and have serious flares rarely at this point. I'm quite good at listening to my body and readjusting as needed before I really tank. (If you're wondering, yes - I'm sure I have fibro, plus chronic myofascial pain. 10 years ago I could barely work 8 hours a week. I've just been lucky to find things that work for me to keep me healthy enough to live a reasonably normal life these days.)
I've been doing an average of 45 minutes of Turbo Jam (aerobics/kick boxing DVDs) plus 20 minutes stretching 4-5 days a week for a number of weeks and withstanding that routine fine, but now I want to start ChaLEAN, which is DVDs to teach weight training (the 12-30 lbs, work to muscular failure kind).

I'm wondering if anyone has any specific suggestions for how to walk the line between "this needs to ache because that's how muscles work when you're training" and "aw crap, I pushed myself into a flare again" while getting the hang of lifting. ChaLEAN sounds like it kicks the butts of those who do it, and I'm OK with that, as long as the soreness fades like normal soreness from exercising hard. I just don't want to throw myself over a cliff doing this and start to have to miss work
It's always easier not to start a downward spiral than to pull out of one. Thanks!

PS - I'll make sure I post how I'm doing, perhaps even start a 3FC blog, so others can learn from what I learn as I go along on this. So if no one has any direct experience with this I'll just make sure I listen to myself and don't push too hard too fast, and we'll see how it goes!
