A reply to my reply! lol

Here's the info I found on Oprah's site about "Energy Vampires"

Recognizing the Signs
- tune into your physical reactions when with these type of ppl
Ask yourself, is there a tightening in my chest when a certain person enters a conversation?
Do I feel tired when I hang up the phone after speaking with someone? etc etc (the list goes on)

What to Do
- Take a deep breath and center yourself
- Set boundaries circle yourself with an invisible shield where you can still hear the person who's yelling or recounting an event but they cannot enter your sphere. You've created a buffer zone, where this person's negative influences can dissipate
- Sit back and think about what type of ppl aggravate you and
make sure you cut them off or draw a line where you won't allow them to pass.

That's all for today - more to come next time!

Hi all,

I know I haven't posted in ages but every time I try I end up writing a long one, then I go to post it and it says I'm not logged in. Then I log in and it tells me I haven't followed a thread.

Grr.

Anyway, I hit a wall on this WOE and had to back off for a while. I am trying to readjust my attitude and get going. Good news is my ND found enough symptoms that she is trying me on thyroid stuff. I can see why - nothing works and it's so frustrating it's sending me into tailspins. I am back up to where I was, basically, 215 and really not happy about it. Hopefully the meds will work for me. I already do feel better and my eye puffiness problem is way better after just 1 week.

Best to you all, please post!

Hi everyone,

Wow I can't believe how long its been since I posted. Glad you are all doing well. I still been going to the gym 3 times a week most weeks, I also have a pool so I been getting my exercise. It's been in the 90's here and very humid.

Mygirl, you just have to do it, like the commercial says LOL. Summer is so much harder with things being less scheduled. Thanks for the new thread, can you believe we are on 9 already?

Jennifa, I know what you mean about having problems with this forum, it gets real anoying when you have a post ready and it doesn't accept it. Are you haveing success with the new meds?

Take care and post soon.

ok I just did SOME walking with dh...I figured that I have to incorporate some walking into my life so each weekend dh and I have agreed that we will get in time for at least 1 walk and talk time.
well it beats sitting around the house watching tv! it's actually proved to be not too bad at all and it has helped me to get back into my exercise - slowly but surely.

I am feeling a bit down these past few days don't know why maybe it's just that I haven't done much in the way of weight loss.

talk to you soon
special hugs to all

Hi all,

You have the right idea MyGirl, just convince yourself that it isn't really exercise and you won't mind it near as much LOL. We are having a cookout for the fourth and I am going to try and be good.
Calm and relaxing thoughts to all of you,

hi gals!
I've been away for a week getting back to nature and really relaxing - it really helps to clear the cobwebs from the mind.
I have re-assessed my direction in life - no more obsessing about the anxiety and more focus on me!
My friends and family have been very supportive my doc told me to say yes to the next 5 invitations and guess what - they have been great! I have felt some anxiety, more so when I am stressed but I just put it down to stress and let the feeling come and go...it usually gets better once I have been somewhere for a few minutes - the anticipation is usually the worst part.

I have decided that the only way I will lose the weight is to just eat healthy food and forget about the calorie and measuring.

Thanks for the encouragement daytona - I need it every so often.
How was your 4th of July cookout?

How are you doing with the new thyroid stuff Jennifa? Hope it is proving to be beneficial for you.

hugs to you all

HI all,

This (#&$*&@#(*^ post had better post!

I've written like FOUR posts that got lost.

Anyway, it sounds like you guys are doing well. I am not doing so well. The thyroid stuff has really helped my TOM problems and water retention is pretty much a memory!!! FINALLY! IN YOUR FACE STUPID CONDESCENDING WW WEIGH IN PEOPLE!!!!!

Unfortunately a part of me was hoping that the thyroid stuff would be the silver bullet to end this weight problem. It's not. I still have to diet like a madwoman. Plus I am dealing with a lot of guilt for pursuing the thyroid treatment. All my blood tests for the last 5 years came back normal. Yet the treatment is really helping me a lot. I don't know, I don't know where to put my faith, my docs can't help my anxiety because I'm anxious about taking meds. (obviously)

So yeah, I'm still at 214, better than 217 or worse but still a LONG way from goal. I'm struggling not to binge out every single day. I also think that pretty much all of these diets are a crock of steaming doo doo - all you have to do is look at the people on the threads and see how long they've been doing it - a very small percentage actually loses anything at all and even fewer get to goal. I would LOVE it and be THRILLED if you all prove me wrong.

Sorry to be a party pooper. The ONE AND ONLY thing that has EVER worked for me is exercise and lots of it. The good news is I feel motivated to do it these days. The other good news is I don't tend to eat really unhealthy foods very much - just healthy stuff, at least 5 fruits and veggies a day plus 3 liters water.

So get out there and shake that healthy butt!

Will post happier message later.

Hi all,

Jennifa do you think you may have screwed up your metabolism with all the different diets you have been on? A friend of mine has had a lot of success fixing hers and losing weight with a diet plan called Lean for Life, I think they have a web sight, maybe you can check it out. It sure gets upsetting when you diet and don't get results.

Mygirl, I need to re access my life direction also! I seem to make myself crazy with the in decision about getting a job. It is an on going battle. I have low self worth because I don't feel like I do my part with paying bills etc. However I did accept a part time job in a retail store and my husband had a fit, he didn't want me to take it because it would be at the times he was home. I might add he doesn't want me to work and we really don't need the money. I would do it more for something to do than anything else. After rasing 5 kids, my youngest just graduated in June, I just have far too much time on my hands and that is not good for my anxiey and depression problem.

Have a clam and relaxing day, and post often, it really helps to know we are not alone with our anxiety. I know we each have our individual problems but our anxiety is the same.

Thanks for the encouragement daytona - you are so right we do have our anxiety in common and no matter how much support/sympathy we get from our loved ones (which is greatly appreciated) there is nothing like the understanding you get from someone who has actually been there and knows EXACTLY what you are going thru...and I really value that - it's the support I get from all of you that keeps me sane.

As far as work goes it is important to do something/anything to get your mind off the anxiety. If not working then maybe volunteer work helping others, as long as it's regular enough to get you out of the house. You are excellent with giving advice.

Jennifa - how's the thyroid treatment going? I was reading up on the symptoms and think that I may have enough of them to have treatment but the problem is that every time I have a blood test to check for thyroid it comes up all clear - very strange.
Is there any other way of detecting thyroid problems?

Busy week ahead of me next week

hugs to you all,
MyGirl

Hi all,

Thanks for the suggestion on volunteer work, it would let me explore areas of interest with out a long term commitment. Now to find an area that is close to my heart. Are you enjoying the summer off? When do you start back to school? My youngest is starting college this fall, I can't believe it.

How you doing Jennifa? Are you seeing success with the thyroid treatment? Are you still exercising a lot?

Have either of you seen the recent articles on anxiety, they have one in Rosie mag and Time mag. I haven't read them yet but I have them on my too do list!

Have a great and relaxing day.

Hi everyone,

Welcome andreaphilip3, I haven't taken xanax but I did take Buspar for a few months last summer. It sure helped take the edge off and I also went to counseling to get my anxiety under control. I question if anxiety is ever really "under control" but it is sure a lot better than it used to be. The help of the girls on this board has been wonderful and very supportive. It helps when people know exactly how you feel and offer suggestions that worked for them.
Take care,
Daytona
