  • Hey There
Happy- My dinner went well and everyone seemed to like everything I cooked. The last of the leftovers are about gone,Thank Goodness! I didn't gain much more than a lb. But you know sometimes it shows up days later. I am being good now.
I'm afraid the Dr. is going to have to do more than give me pain pills for my knee. All I want is for him to patch and hold me together till November.
Candice ..I know what you mean. I need a large closet too. I have two small ones in this house and that is not enough. Give all your big clothes away. You don't want to grow back in them!!I say don't give yourself a choise.
Meme.. There should be another solution for you . You want to help but at the expence of your health!!My prayers are with you and the children.
Ally.. Holes in the wall are part of living. Just repair them and go on with what you are doing. Find yourself a GOOD HANDYMAN.
    Mima..Still on her honeymoon...Forever I hope..
    Bye...Joanne
  • We're Back
The wedding was great and so was the reception. We went to Maine and stayed at a beautiful condo for 3 days-Ate like pigs in fancy restaurants-walked on the marginal Way and cold ocean-slept, slept, slept. We also bought Dexter shoes-I got some great sandals. I am feeling a lot better and I read an article about my shoulder and some exercises to do. The third picture is not Brad-that's one of my close friends-my son took a picture of him. He had a palm sized digital camera and is making us a film. And he's Japanese but my husband is a Scot. I'm not used to having a husband yet.But we are so happy. Thanks so much Meme for posting my pictures. I got a report from the doc-my chol. is 122, not 148. And HDl is rael good and LDL is great. I will be good though but it's not that bad. I will never not have a fasting chol. again. Bye for now-hubby is on a roof-I have to empty the car/ Happy Easter Joanne . Hi all!!!!Mima
  • Meme..WE have a Sylvan here too and some friends sent their kids to it and said it did wonders for them!!!! Hope it helps I know it must be terribly frustrating!!!!!!!!

Mima...Your cholesterol is great! Mine is in the 170's I think but ok. How did you get yours so low or has it always been that way??????

Joanne..if Ally finds a handyman I don't think fixing the wall will be the first thing on her mind!

    HI Happy and Ally

Bad storms here last night..I always have to unplug the puter cause we get hit by lightning so much!
  • Hi
I keep messing up on the chol. numbers-it's 222 instead of 248. Sorry. Hey I bet you guys think I married a Japanese fellow from that 3rd picture. We got some stuff from the condo yesterday. A couple more trips then I can clean and have the rugs done. Of course I'm sore again today. Brad is also tired-he works so hard, Hope it stopped snowing Anne. We are in the 70's today. Awesome. I'm going to work for Thurs. and Fri. next week. And then the following . Going to put the money away for the trip down the Mississippi next fall. Bye for now. Mima
  • Hey There
Candice- That was the idea for Ally to maybe get some work out of him too I have unplug everything in my house too when we get the storms. We have been hit a couple times by lighting.
Meme- I hope everything works out for you. Sometimes it is really hard to find the professional help and then be able to work with them.
Mima- I have a difficult time with my col.too. I had to stop the medication because I was hurting too much. The Dr. hasn't put me on another one yet. I hope not. I don't like them and my insurance won't pay for them.
    Hello Ally, Happy...Bye ,Joanne
  • What did our greatgrandparents do about high cholesteral? They ate pork and beef with lots of fat, they had high fat milk from their own cows and butter. They ate rich, homemade desserts and bread. Yet...they never took a cholesteral pill...didn't even know what cholesteral was!!! And some of them lived to be 100! Why is that do you think??? You think working in the fields and washing on a scrubboard had anything to do with it???
  • Hey
Meme- You are so right!!!I have said the same thing often. I hate putting all these poisons in my body. I always would rather do things natuarally. The Dr. gets really upset with me sometimes. I think the drug companies are making a fortune... The Dr. put my hubby on another one this week. It costs us almost 500 dollers a month for his Brand meds. The insurance will not cover them. I wonder how they think a person on a set income is supposed to do it.I am so mad at them!!!Our President promised to help ,but, I think that only a few if any will someday see anything. I try to stay healthy as possible..
    Bye,Joanne
  • Hi
Yikes Joanne! - $500.00 a month for meds that are NOT covered. That is terrible. How does one come up with that on a fixed income, or otherwise.

Mima - You sound so happy. That is great.

Meme - Poor little Ross. I feel so badly for him. I HATE seeing little ones in any kind of pain, emotional or physical. It seems so much for them to deal with, when the don't understand anything.

Candice - I bought a new pair of shoes the other day. They are the clog type ones, flat with open back. They are Joseph Seibel and they are so comfortable. Got them on sale for $100.00 bucks.
This business about a store not taking back what they sold - that is normal for small stores to do. However, if the product is defective, that is totally different. I think they have to take them back and return your money. You bought them in good faith.

Ally - Did you find a 'handy kind of guy'? Where are you? I hope you are feeling better.

We have spring at last. It is going into the 60's today, and I am so waiting for this. I just would like it to stay, no rain - no snow - no wind. I would just like a near perfect day. It is so sunny out right now - looks beautiful.

Oh! I forgot to tell you, at ww on Wednesday, I lost 2.3 pounds. That now makes 12.5. It is going, but so slowly.
  • Hey There
Happy...VERY GOOD ON THE WEIGHT LOSS. I AM CLAPPING FOR YOU...It is not easy to hand out that kind of money and that is not including the co-pay for the ones that are covered. My hubby is a retired teacher and this is the group policy for retired persons. You would think the school system could do better. The state at least should do something for their teachers who give over 30 years to them. My daughter is a teacher in another county and she says it is just as bad there. Teachers salaries are bad also. Thank God her hubby is in ranching and they are not a one income family.
Hello to all and a HAPPY MOTHERS DAY.
    Joanne
  • Hi
Just wanted to say Happy Mother's Day to all of you. My daughter is coming over and Brad is cooking. We are going to church and then to see his Mom. One more day at the condo and i'll be done. And not hurt so much. Hope you guys are well. Mima
  • Yes, Happy Mother's Day to all of you.
No., I don;t have a handyman working on any of my holes (that's a pun).
I painted my son's room and did another border. I am really really achjing from getting up and down on a chair.
Went to a movie, got a migraine (is it just me or are movies too loud?) and then went to a health eatery. When what I really wanted was something unhealthy.
    Brownies are in the oven.
Hope you all have a nice day...
  • Hi
Hope everyone had a good day yesterday. Brad cooked a deliscious dinner and Suzanne finally got here after getting lost. We are pretty far out. And the boys called.I am so happy to stay home today-Ally, every time I do the least thing I hurt the next day!!!!Fibro sucks. And no one can see it so most people don't get it.It's pouring here but we need the rain-Brad has gone to work for a long day.But I had been single for 11 years so I'm used to being alone-I actually like it to a point. I'm sure you all understand that. I saw the cd video-what an awesome thing-you can take stills and video clips with sound. Bye for now Mima
  • We are floating away here....4 inches of rain over the weekend and my garden is flooded and so are the fields around our house! The poor farmers will ahve to replant the corn now and it is suposed to rain more this week! My flowers are in the garage and not looking very happy..had to bring afew into the house and use a hair dryer to warm them up liek a green house does!

Haven't decided on the shoes yet....sometimes they hurt my foot and sometimes it is not to noticeable. I need to wera them our for a full day but then you can't return them so I have to walke around the house in them. It has been two weeks now and they probably will tell me I kep them too long..weoll the man told me to givce them a good long try so I am. I will keep them if I can...just cause it is a real hassel!

Got my fish tank cleaned finally and the house done too! Also walked on the treadmill but my hips are bothering me. Gotta take tiny steps..can't spread my legs to far!!!!!!!!!

Here is my fish that almost bit the dust last year!
  • Hello
It's not raining now. But we got a lot of it too, Candice.Finishing up the condo today-just need someone to do the rugs.I'm going to Northampton tomorrow afternoon to work for 2 days. I made amazing progress yesteday but of course the fibro kicked in big time today-what else is new!!!!!!!!Hey Joanne-how's the heat? Alison has been in her pool everyday. I got her some pool stuff for her 12th birthday and she loves to dive down and get it. Amazing for a child that can't move her legs. Bye for now. Hi to all. Mima
  • Hey There
Candice - Send me some of that rain...It hasn't rained here in weeks. I forgot what it looks like. Mima. It has been in the 90's here. Muggy and hot.
I had a nice Mothers Day. Both of my kids were good to me. My son came over after church with a arm full of floweres and candy coffee beans and coffee. He took us out to lunch. My daughter sent me a card and gift card. Didn't take me long to spend it.
I think I may have to cut back on my flowers in the yard if we don't start getting some rain. It gets expensive to water all the time.
    Hello Happy ,Meme
Ally looks like you are keeping busy maintaining your house. I guess it will keep you out of trouble. A handy man around would be easier.
    Bye Joanne
