Thanks for the support ladies. I'm not happy just yet. But I do notice my legs are much smaller when I look down at them. The ac at work is still broken - so it was 30 inside again today despite it being only 26 outside. I had to call in sick for the morning because I woke up in the wee hours with stomach pain that kept me awake. I ended up taking a tylenol with codeine and sleeping it off.. then doing a quick trip to the lab at the hospital to have blood drawn for liver and kidney function tests. When I bought the house from my parents -- they promised they would help me whenever I needed it.. with home emergencies etc. But I have asked both of them in the last month when they were going to be able to come back and finish packing up all the things they left in the house. unfortunatly they keep telling me they cant afford to come back... and I understand it is a long distance. And they lent me the downpayment for the house. But it's really frustrating that they cant just come out and say I can start cleaning their junk out. I cant stand living in the house full with leftover garbage of theirs. possessions they didnt want. etc Actually when I called the stuff they left up 'junk' my Dad hung up on me. After 2 16 foot trailer loads, plus a mover hauling stuff... there is still so much left-- they shopped garage sales for more than 20 years. And it's a lot of work for me to handle on my own. My 21 year old brother is not a help whatsoever. He needs to grow up. I HAD to start throwing a couple bags of junk out each week with the regular trash. I dont have the energy to just clean for a week.. and my car is too nice to haul garbage in. I love my parents.. but they havent called since the last time I asked my mom when they'd be able to come back. I grew up with them telling me how poor they were and how they couldnt afford anything until they paid off credit card debt. Then after I finished college despite them saying they wouldnt support me when they still helped -- my Dad always said 'selling the house' would make him financially stable (he was making 120+ per year) AND NOW they're saying helping me buy the house is what has them in a bad situation again. It feels like it's always my fault they cant manage their money. When in reality.. they have never ever budgeted. I want to just give up and never ever need help from my parents again. how's that for a long rant. Seriously.. when does it get easy to deal with parents? |
Hi there everybody . . . so sorry I was AWOL yesterday . . . it was not one of my better days. :dizzy:
Two major (and a few minor ones, too) things brought ruination to my day yesterday . . . My kitchen sink self-destructed. The trap had been leaking slowly for a few days (probably longer from the conditions I found under the sink). But yesterday, the faucet literally broke off in my hand, while I was moving it from one side to the other and by the time I got the taps turned off, the ceiling had been washed. :yikes: I have yet to hear back from my usual plumber even though I've left two messages and have just finished talking to the other local plumber who says he'll try to drop by this afternoon to "have a look" although he has no time to do anything right now. Don't mind that I'm getting some extra exercise carrying water from bathroom to kitchen (split level house; have to go up or down half a flight to 'find' water) for most things, but I'm concerned about doing dishes as I'm nervous about running the dishwasher since I really don't know the condition of the rest of the waterworkings in the kitchen and I do not have laundry tubs. Then, a major food meltdown occured -- so far no scale effect from my pig out yesterday but it will probably come. It was really a 'final meal' kind of thing for LouLou -- her doctor finally (after almost a year of testing for other stuff) decided to do the blood tests for Celiac Disease (not one of the first things they seem to think of in a 68 year old woman, I guess) and, from the reading I've done, that sounds like a very likely answer for most of her ongoing problems, even the nasty flare-up of diverticulitis that she definitely has. She won't know for sure for another week when she sees the internal medicine specialist. But from the outcome of the very high gluten meal we had yesterday (pizza, pasta, bread, brownie buffet), sounds like a strong possibility to me -- she had to run to the washroom six times while we were in the restaurant; then she hit every washroom in every store we were in for the next hour; and as well as the ongoing diarrhea she also started throwing up the final two or three stops. So I gave here a bunch of reading material I printed off the www and took her home to bed . . . gee, this diagnosis would even explain the funny sores she gets on her arms, legs, and buttocks that have been going on for years with everybody trying to figure out what she's allergic to. Although I wouldn't wish Celiac Disease on anybody at least it would give her a direction. She is just about at her wit's end with these problems she's been having for so long. Do any of you have experience with adult onset Celiac Disease? Anyway . . . nothing going on for me today (who needs anything else) since I now have to wait around for the plumber to maybe show up. Weather is still very humid (94% at the moment) but there does seem to be a little more sunshine happening today. Cats are all good -- not exactly all lovey-dovey yet, but most of the snarling and hissing has settled down. Hope you all have a great Friday . . . see you later . . . :carrot: |
Hi Ladies
Did not get on yesterday to post as I was absolutely shattered I think in the past 2 days I have walked 30 miles ;) Alright a huge exaggeration I must admit :D but I have been to Sheffield yesterday to Meadowhall ( a very large shopping centre about 40 miles from my city). Then today we went in to the city so again much walking I keep trying to convince myself that it is great exercise but my legs are beginning to disagree  . I have been so OP this week with due to circumstances having to eat out many times which we do not have to do normally. So I have promised myself that I will be OP this week with my own home cooking apart from our normal day out of eating. I jumped on the scales this morning and :yikes: 4lbs up I just hope that it is partially down to water gain as I am fairly certain that I have not eat that many calories over to account for that amount of gain. I know that when I go on holiday I suspect to gain a little as I eat a little more off plan than normally. I must admit it is frightening to see such an increase and not panic. I do not want to go back to my "old" self of being so over weight. I have gained the odd pound or two on some weeks in the past 17 months but never this much so I do not want it to become a trend. So knuckle down I must and hopefully I will drop to my ticker weight again. in a couple of weeks time. So that is my big confession over with and hopefully that will help me be good this week and weeks to come. ROSEBUD :~ Wow you and your DH have done well to have now finished the foundations on your holiday home. Though you have both put in many hours of work to get to this point. How far is it from your own home ? How are the antibiotics doing regarding healing the leg infection? Yes antibiotics / infection can make you feel tired but as we all know fresh air pays it part too. I think going to the seaside and walking down the sea front it is surprising how much that tires you. I think it is the sea air which as that effect. Talking of sea air I took a look last night how much I weighed last time I was on holiday and how much I will roughly weigh this time as a comparison. Gosh I had lost 54 pounds which is nearly 4 stone in a year ( 1 stone = 14 pounds) which made me feel good. MEOWEE :~ I hope you are well ? How is Sandy doing with integrating into your family of cats. By the sounds of the last time you spoke of Sandy it seemed that she/he was rather brave and would mix easily. VALDINE :~ Like you I am not quite happy with my body shape but I many have to accept that I will never get down to where I wish to be. I am on 2 lots of anti epileptic drugs and they both have weight gain as there side effects. So I maybe always be a bit plump but I must have least decreased the risks health wise from what they were. Sorry to hear that you are poorly and off work. I am amazed that you have managed to work as long as you have in such heat with the AC being broken. The blood tests that you had for liver and kidney function is that due to the beta interferon that you are on? (that is the British name for what you are on not sure what you call your injection that you have) You are quite right to have your rant I understand how you must feel. Some people are just unable to budget no matter what and even worse blame others for the problem. Try not to feel bad but I know this is difficult as this is your mum and dad and you love them dearly. I love my parents but my dad can sometimes drive me to distraction. He will not do things for himself health wise like take gentle exercise which would help his heart. He still treats me a little girl at times rather than a grown woman with a nursing qualification. He ignores any advice health wise I give him and I dread having to give his tablets out as he questions every single one and when you are on something like 20+ a day I get to the point of pulling my hair out. You would think I have never dispensed a tablet in my life. So my answer it is never easy dealing with our parents you often have to walk a stony path now and again. I have been fortunate though I have never had to rely on my parents for financial help but hopefully if you get the new job you will get a little more income which takes you one step closer for financial independence. No more news :gossip: for now and besides I am going to finish watching the coverage of the olympic games bye for now  |
WOWIE ~ so much to read .... lol!!! Boy, you gals have been having your problems, I see. We've had a few here ourselves, and thankfully I had handy DH to help me: he fixed the deck and the kitchen taps and the drawer that wouldn't close, simply becuz no-one else would!
GEE VALDINE ~ too bad I didn't live closer, I'd come over and help you a bit. Every once and awhile, DH and I go through a 'Tossing Frenzy'; it so easy to pick up this and that for such low prices these days. Many people are becoming yard sale and second-hand shop addicts ~ lol! I know people that have brought home buildings to put their 'stuff' in, literally ... My Dad just built a cottage and it seems he is filling it with everything he doesn't want in his other homes; and yes, I said the 'junk' word too, only my Dad agreed with me apparently -- I think DH snitched on me ... LOL! And they say, one person's junk is another person's treasure! I said to DH ... my father has way too much JUNK, I mean stuff, so why doesn't he throw some it away? I mean, why is he keeping an old, raggedy snoopy dog that was my sisters when she was ten? She left it behind because she didn't want it anymore ... lol! But seriously, I'd bet your parents took the stuff with them that they really wanted to keep. The old saying is true ... the more $$$ some people make, the more they spend; and some never learn to budget well. Remember, that YOU ARE NOT responsible for their financial woes: esp with that kind of income; and it was their choice to live that way. I would just ignore that and then when they cool off, give them a call just to see how they are. You did the right thing in asking them what they wanted you to do with it? Dealing with family can be very difficult; but the best rule of thumb, is to imagine what you would do if they weren't your family. That will cut out the emotional aspect and help you to make a decision that is best for the both of you! In a normal situation, they say once someone moves and leaves behind stuff for 30 days, it's yours to do with as you please; if they don't respond in a while, then you have the right as the new owner to toss it. BUT, if you think your parents would be angry at you for this, maybe you could store the more valuable stuff in a storage room in the basement or a shed outdoors. You get it out of your way and they can pick it up later, if they ever come back for it. You know, someone else just asked me a similar question and I told him that parents will always be parents; and kids will always be kids to those parents, no matter how old they are, right PURPLE? MEOWEE ~ sure hope you get all your plumbing problems solved soon; and so sorry to hear how sick LouLou was yesterday, my that's really sick. I hope they can find a solution for her too. Glad to hear things have quieted down for your feline family. HEY PURPLE ~ you've been busy; and yes, the mall walking can really tire you out. I took it easier yesterday for that very reason. Our lot is about 40 Kilometers from where we presently live; it takes about 30-45 minutes to get there, I guess. We usually stay the whole day; it will be nice when we get things to the point where we could stay up there overnight. Well, I've been writing so long, my internet connection conked out on me: LOL; so it's time to stop yakkin' and time to get dinner started ... so take good care, your friend, :hug:ROSEBUD:hug: |
Hello All
Another grey morning here and it is suppose to rain later on. Typical when I wanted to do my washing today and to be able to dry it outside. Our neighbours spoke to us yesterday and she had been speaking to the site manage of the school that is being built on the playing field at the back of our homes. For many years we have had trouble with water running down our yards in winter and especially when it had rained it was bad. He did tell us that there was a water pipe that ran along the playing field was in extremely bad repair and was leaking. So this would not have helped our situation of being flooded out at the back yard. So fingers crossed :crossed: it has solved our problem. So only time will tell now whether it has been successful. For several years me and my neighbour ( especially my neighbour) have been trying to solve the issue but no one wants to take responsibility. The council say it is on school property and it is nothing to do with them. The school say that it is the councils responsibility well you get the picture everyone passing the book and no one putting their hands up to get the matter sorted. Fortunately when the site manager began this project he insisted that it was invetigated these patches of very green grass as it was a good sign that there was water whether from a natural source like a spring or man made. Will keep you posted regarding the water issue. MEOWEE :~ It looks as though we must have posted at very similar times yesterday so I did not get to read your post till later when I had finished watching the Olympics. :yikes: sounds like you had a nightmare with the sink and then to put the tin hat on it the tap (faucet) came off. It is so annoying waiting for people to return your call in a professional capacity as our hands are tied. We no nothing about plumbing etc well what we do know can be put on a postage stamp;) I hope this matter has been resolved since you posted on line. Sorry to hear that your friend Loulou has celiac disease though in some ways it is a relief to know what is wrong. I do not know a great deal about the condition other than you stick to a gluten free diet. I know nothing of late onset of this condition either, not sure if there is a website for people with this condition. I go to one with MS and it is helpful chatting with others in the same boat as I am though not sure if it exist for celiac disease. ROSEBUD :~ We are busy little beaver typing away when we get going and me especially;) What a truth your have said with the phrase "You know, someone else just asked me a similar question and I told him that parents will always be parents; and kids will always be kids to those parents, no matter how old they are, right " I could never I have put it like that but it says it in a nutshell. Yes I am sure it would make things easier if you could stay at your lot overnight if you want. Lets hope it would not be too long for that happen. Was busy preparing food for the next few days yesterday evening. I have cooked one dish already which is BBQ gammon which was adapted from a recipe here on 3fc. I will be serving this with brown rice and some broccoli I think. Then I have made some chicken in white wine. I have put lentils and beans into that to help fill you up when eating it. Nothing more going on except me watching the olympics :o I have not watched so much television since the last one I am sure I will have square eyes by the time I have finished ;) Bye for now ladies and catch up with you shortly. |
Good Morning . . . :grouphug:
Know exactly what you mean, PURPLE . . . I remember a nasty battle over an article that got broken in the mail between the US and Canada . . . neither side of the border would take responsibility. So much for good International relations. :s: I have a useable kitchen water supply again . . . and the good news is that less work was required than I had anticipated. All the water I'd been seeing over the past week or two was coming from the deteriorating tap situation. Although I would have liked to get new sinks too, they actually talked me out of it. Gotta  living in a small community where even the plumbers don't try to talk you into unneccessary (and expensive) work. Of course, I imagine the bill for what they did do, will be enough of a shocker when it arrives. Only down note, my precious little swiveling aerator that I bought years ago won't fit the new faucet so today I go hunting for another one. I seem to recall that it originally came with alternate attachement pieces, but I have no idea where they may have gone. I did replace my bathroom sink . . . the drain had been giving me some trouble for a long time (very slow to empty). When they tried to remove the sink from the existing downpipe, the bottom of the old sink gave up the ghost. So I got my new sink -- just not the one I had planned on. Things in the feline menagerie seem to be progressing okay except that 'somebody' (I have two possible candidates -- Frick and Blizzard -- both of whom are playing really shy around Sandy and have decided they prefer to live upstairs as much as possible) is using the bathtub as a litter box. Could be worse, at least it's easy to clean up in there. Nothing much else going on for me . . . hope the rest of you are having a great weekend . . . |
HELLO CHICKIES ~ we had nice sun this morning and rain on and off all afternoon. We decided to stay home this weekend and rest, as we both needed it. With my leg trying to heal and TOM as the same time; I've been taking some naps and going to bed much earlier.
MEOWEE ~ so glad that you got most of your water problems sorted out; it can be costly, but it's worth it to have that convenience too. Maybe you could put another litter box upstairs for the kitties that want to live up there: that's what my sister did when a new one arrived (one upstairs and one down; but now they are friends). HEY PURPLE ~ thanks, it's just so true ... how many people have said something like 'When are my parents going to realize that I'm an adult? I'm fifty y/o and they still treat me like I'm five!' I can so relate to that ... We've been watching the Olympics too; it's the most I've watched in months, no years ~ LOL! I really enjoyed the men and ladies gymnastics this week. I hope your watermain issue gets solved to your satisfaction soon too: yah, the old 'pass the buck game' rears it's ugly head again ~ lol! HIYA VAL ~ hope you are having a good weekend; and finding a way to solve that storage issue! Make sure to take some time to rest and have some fun too. Today, I made another batch of Rhubarb Conserve; this time, I added some apples and cinnamon: and it's so yummy. Tastes like apple pie, without the crust. We just had BBQ'd jumbo franks (hot dogs) for dinner tonight; I had some salads with mine, and only one w/w bun that I divided and twisted like a pretzel around the dogs. On Saturdays, we try to have something that's fun and easier to make; gives me a bit of a break too when I'm not feeling too well. Take good care ladies, and hope the rest of your weekend is very enjoyable, your friend :hug:ROSEBUD:hug: |
Hi Ladies
Nothing to report much here except how stupid I am  I decided to watch the ladies marathon as we have a very good marathon runner in Paula Radcliffe. Though unfortunately she had just had a stress fracture of the leg and had not had enough time to do the fitness work. It was sad to see her come in 22nd but at least she finished it unlike in Athens. I am sure psychologically it will put some ghosts to rest so to speak being able to finish. Now if that was not bad enough I then decided to watch to see if Michael Phelps got his 8th gold medal. So after all my stupidity I ended up getting to bed just after 4.30am. I ended up sleeping till 11.45am due to being so shattered. Going to have my bumps read later ;) ( not sure if this is a term used world wide but it means to see if you are sane! which I think at the minute is doubtful :D ) MEOWEE :~ Sounds like you have been going through the mill in the plumbing department. Though as you say at least they did not talk you into unnecessary work which all cost $ at the end of the day. Now fingers crossed :crossed: that the bill is not too painful on the pocket. See you have got to play Sherlock Holmes :mag: to find the culprit of the bath tub incident. The only bonus as you say it is much easier to clean from there than anywhere else they may have decided to use. Glad your cat family are starting to gel together I am sure in another few weeks everything will have settled and pushing their noses out of joint :snooty: will be a thing of the past. ROSEBUD :~ Now that jam that you have just made sounds lovely. I sometimes just a bread and jam for my tea especially if I am craving sweet things. I see a tiny scraping of jam is not so bad just not so filling as protien based things. Yes like you I have always loved gymnastics. I was even lucky enough as a young girl to go to London to the Wembley Arena and watch the USSR gymnasts do a display of their talent. Wow I loved it with the atmosphere and even down to the smell of the chalk the gymnasts use. I saw as I recall Nellie Kim who was the first gymnast to score a perfect 10 on the beam. Must get on as I am a bit behind today after my nightly antics so bye for now ladies and catch you soon  |

Hi Ladies
We have certainly had some rain over the past 24 hours or so. On Saturday night alone there was 1" of rain so definitely umbrella weather :rain:. Looking at the forecast for the next few days we will not see the sun :sunny: until at least Wednesday. My sister is unfortunately on holiday in Northern Ireland at the minute and has been over there for just over a week now. They have gone partially for a holiday and to see her DH family which live over there. Glad to report I went to bed at a sensible time last night :D after the previous nights antics I thought it best. Tomorrow our car has to go in for its 2 year service and we will be have a courtesy car. Would not have bothered normally with a service car unless we have things to do. Tomorrow is my day for my oxygen therapy and DH is still training in to do the oxygen tank. I meant to tell you that we must have an important court case going on in my city at the minute as when you go by the front and back entrance there are 3 armed police office on each. It seems strange to us to see armed police officers as police here are not armed with guns. Apparently the court case in question is a drug barren being charged. My friend says the police escort goes passed her house every day. It has like 8 police cars escorting it and a helicopter tracking it. So they must be worried this is a high risk case of people trying to break him out. bye ladies must get some work done here. Catch up with her soon. |
Good Morning, Good Morning . . . :grouphug:
Yesterday turned out to be an almost perfect summer day -- sunny, low to mid 20s C (mid 70s F), pleasant breeze and almost totally negligible humidity -- this is what summer is supposed to be like in AtlanticCa. Today is shaping up to be more of the same. :yay: Things seem to be coming together in the feline menagerie -- Sandy and Blizzard were actually playing together yesterday. I'm now thinking it's Dandy Sandy who prefers the bathtub as a littler box. Put about an inch of water in the bottom of the tub yesterday and so far he is the only one to show up with wet feet. Hope I don't find little piles of .... in worse places for my troubles. :dizzy: I'm afraid I've been lax with my crafting projects since Sandy arrived and imagine I'll be spending most of today enjoying the great weather too -- must get back to those aprons. Hope the rest of you hve a great day, too . . . be it rain or shine in your 'neck of the woods' . . . :carrot: |
HI LADIES ~ sorry I didn't get in yesterday; decided to take it easy and put my feet up to read and do puzzles. Then DH and I plopped down extra-early to watch some OLYMPICS last night. DH fell asleep, but I stayed up to watch the ladies TRI-ATHALON. Right after that finished, I nodded off myself, as I just don't have the stamina to stay up really late anymore like I did when I was younger.
Today, it was overcast and rainy, so we went to town to do our weekly shopping a bit early, as DH needed a few things himself. We took a ride out around one of our favorite lakes on the way home just for fun. We did a bit of yard work this weekend; I asked DH if he would get rid of some giant PIC-PICS (thistles) in the front and side yards, as all the seeds were blowing all over the place, then they grow wherever they land, the next year. They were going into my garden and flowers too. I hate trying to walk in my sandals and stepping on those dang prickly things, so DH cut down and pulled out as many as he could for me. No one else around here will do any of the yard maintenance; it's hard to understand since most of them don't work either; you'd think they would at least do that. :?: ANYHOW, that's my rant for the day; sorry! Well, we all have our crosses to bare, don't we? They are just different, that's all ~ LOL! Anyways, it will be so wonderful when we get to our own place and we can do it up nice. I'm glad the folks up there love trees and flowers and birds and animals just as much as we do. MEOWEE ~ glad SANDY is finally fitting in and has found a friend to play with. Great detective work there: you are Sherlock Holmes ~ LOL! Nice to hear that you have some decent weather as well; it's about time. HEY PURPLE ~ Glad you got some rest after staying up so late the night before; but, I can understand why you did it. I have seen PAULA Radcliffe race before; as I favor track sports myself and often watch the GOLD SERIES, which is a series of meets around Europe where the winner can win MEGA-BUCKS that are represented as Gold Bars, if I recall correctly. They get paid for the races they win plus an extra bonus if they win so many first places in the series, or something close to that. Re: The Trial ~ I think that escort may also be there trying to protect the guy too, simply because of the kind of charge he is up against, and they may be trying to protect witnesses as well. That must be adding quite a bit of excitement to your little village too. HIYA VAL ~ I was wondering if they couldn't bring in some fans so you gals don't roast in those offices without A/C. I remember a lady doing that once when it was really hot at a place she was working and they had no fans. She brought in a portable 18" turbo fan (from Walmart) to keep herself cool: hey, why not??? ;) Tonight we ate light; had some nice homemade tomato- bean soup with mini-meatballs that I had made before and frozen in containers. Just warmed it up and had it with a small whole wheat roll ~ DH said it was yummy, and it was! Sure fills you up, that's for sure. Well, that's all the news from here, so I'm off to have some tea and do a puzzle or two; take good care, your friend :hug:ROSEBUD  |
Hi Ladies
It is rather early 7.20am but we have had to be up early to take the car for a service. Then very shortly after that we are off to the MS therapy centre. So a busy day this morning will no doubt get a phone call to say that the car is ready later on before tea. The courtesy car will no doubt be a Kai ( type of make of car) which is small in size. Great leg room for me but rather a low vehicle so I will need help in and out of this one. (as opposed to only occasionally out of our own. I should not moan really beggars can not be choosy and it is very nice we can have a courtesy car. MEOWEE :~ Oh you did make me laugh when you said you had put an 1" of water in the bath and only one cat turned up with wet paws :D Great bit of detecting work there MS Sherlock Holmes :mag: Had to tell my DH about that one and he had a laugh too. Yes must be difficult to want to sit down and do craft projects like sewing aprons especially when you have such a cutie new cat called Sandy and the weather is nice. so a doubly whammy on the excuse front there. ROSEBUD :~ Yes we do have a series of athletic meeting where the price is gold bar so mega money can be made by an athlete who is on form at the right time. I have not seen this for a while I think the meetings may have been bought by a cable company to screen for so many years  Yes seeing police offices with guns is so strange to us it draws immediate attention to where they are which at that time was the Crown Court. ( we have 2 courts in this country. Magistrates court is where all cases are nearly heard but the serious crimes are just nigh on immediately to the Crown Court to hear. The Magistrates Court only pass sentences on less serious offences, like none payment of a fine. Or shop lifting so no murders, rapes or anything of that nature.) We get a case maybe once or twice a year where armed police officer are required. Talking of police finish watching a 4 part documentary on police dogs. Showed the work of Alsatians who are there to keep order by there presents. To spaniels who are sniffer dogs for money, drugs and explosives. Then they showed some very special dogs whom there are only 1 or 2 others in the country. One dog was able to go down on a abseil to places which are normally inaccessible he seemed to positively enjoy the abseiling. The other dog an Alsatian who can help trace missing persons weeks after they may have disappeared. There was several of them that was so cute I could easily have taken them home. Not sure that Rizzie would have approved, he would have been fine with the other dog until my DH gave the other dog any affection. Then the green eyed monster come out in him  he is so jealous. We did try to get him a friend a cross staffy from a shelter and things were going so well that we though we soon be having another dog. Then DH and me swapped leads and soon as he realised my DH had the other dog on the lead he turned. We were so shocked as he mixes well with other dogs never been aggressive until this one time. Fortunately we have never seen it again but we know we can not have another dog. Rizzie absolutely dotes on my DH or my Dad for that matter. He only usually wants to know me when I have something he wants otherwise he has nothing to do with me. Nothing so strange as animals, he is never nasty towards me though and he is so tolerant. Even when he had cut both paws in the park on glass and it was quite deep he let me see to them, it was though he knew I could help him and take some of the pain away. When I had finished dressing them he looked like a little boxer with his boxing gloves on. Especially when I had to apply more banaged to it as the blood seeped through. He just lay there and let me dress it as good as gold. My DH laid beside him talking to him and never had to hold him once for me to do the dressings. He is so good really pity he can not have had a friend. VALDINE :~ I hope you have recovered from the air conditioning not being on at work. I knew it can really take its toll on your health. My hip is hurting well it was yesterday, not sure if it is because I have a funny gait at times or what. I know the weather has changed dramatically from hot to more cold and very wet and damp. I know for any arthritis sufferers cold and damp weather it triggers bouts of severe pain. Fortunately at the minute it seems not too bad. I have experienced just lately a couple of spasms and yesterday I had one in my leg ( rather painful) in the supermarket. My must run is that the time I must get ready I am dressed but not done my hair etc. So bye ladies till next time  |
Good Morning . . . :grouphug:
Looks like three great days in a row will not be happening. It looks pretty good right now (sunny and a ppleasant breeze) but the humidity is up to 83% already and still climbing and the forecast is definitely for rain this afternoon. Hey, maybe I'll actually get some "apron" time. Dandy Sandy seems to be using the litter -- at least I haven't found any other 'places' now that the bathtub is unavailable. Guess I will always be keeping a bit of water in it though since I really think it is his 'facility of choice'. He comes in and sniffs at it every morning about the same time. Well, guess I'd best finish my 3FC 'rounds' and then get myself moving and shaking at something semi-constructive. See you all later . . . :carrot: |
HELLO LADIES ~ we are having beautiful weather today, so I went to check on the progress up my gardens and pulled a few weeds today; our new garden has a lot less weeds than the old garden. We transplanted three batches of Rhubarb, but the one batch beside the greenhouse is huge. I always read that Rhubarb would be small and you couldn't pick it until the second year after transplant, but this one batch has grown like it has always been there, so I will take a bit to stew up later this week.
I had noticed that a lady that grows her Rhubarb along side her garage has huge Rhubarb too; the same seems to go for flowers like ... oops ~ they were Hollyhocks. Also, all the beans that I grew in the drums and tires grew much faster this year, so I'm gonna remember this for next year. I picked some last Saturday for dinner and they were nice and tender. We live in a short-season area, so to get green and yellow beans so early is good. DH wants to stay home this week and get some stuff done around home by the end of August, which really needs done ... so I am getting caught up on gardening, laundry, mending, and other stuff around the house too. RE: OLYMPICS ~ I am glad to report that we have indeed won some medals in this Olympics: so far I have heard of 4 in rowing, one bronze in swimming, and one silver in the men's triathalon ... Simon Whitfield came thru for us again; he won gold in the same event eight years ago. It was such a close finish: a German fella ran past him just yards before the finish line to steal gold from him, and he had also given Simon a black eye in the swim. Nice strategy there, sticking to our Simon to ensure he'd get a medal and his efforts paid off with gold. Simon is such a great sport and congratulated him anyways; and he seemed quite content with his silver medal. So glad to see some of our people making so many personal bests at this Olympics; they are being rewarded for all their hard work! Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!! Take good care, your friend :hug:ROSEBUD:hug: |
