Hi. Seems like a lot happening here in a short time.
Mima - Is the 5th wheel big enough to live in comfortable? My brother and his wife did it for 3 or 4 years. Took it to Arizona in October and came back into Canada in April, then parked it at their daughter's acerage and lived in it until it was time to go. It did have a pullout livingroom and bedroom. They now have a camper and a truck, bought a condo here, at home, and a modular home in Arizona. Hope you don't get sick. Meme - hope you hear from the Dr. in short order, after your appointment. It is best to be rid of them. Sometimes they just remove the stones and leave the Gallbladder in tact. Tammy - I'll bet you are looking forward to getting the puppy. It will surely occupy your time. Glad Tim got home for a visit. You need to get out and take some courses or something to keep yourself busy. Joanne - good for your gson buying a home. My son bought his home when he was 25 and he plans to have it paid off in short order. That is his goal. He hates owing money and wants to be debt free when the economy takes a dive. We are still going strong here in Alberta, due to OIL!! Good for you, losing that pound. You should be proud of yourself. Candice must not have been back to the house yet. They were going to get some work done, so maybe she is just staying away until it's finished. I sure don't think I would like all those hurricanes. Gosh, they are downright scary. At least here, we have to go in to the house when it's 30 0or 40 below, but we have heat and don't have to worry about our houses disappearing. I have to work the next two days. We went to the mountains for the Labor Day weekend. Left on Friday and got back on Monday night. Beautiful weather, but it did snow in some places in the mountains. We went on a tram up onto the Columbia Icefield. 1000 ft of pure ice. Quite an experience. Any other time I have been there, which is often, there has been a 2 - 3hours wait to get on, but this time it was 1/2 hour. The American Tourists are all staying home. Have a good week. |
anne, today I was busy. Y classes started this week, and my Wed. are going to be busy. aerobics, water aerobics, bible study, lunch/meeting with my Emmaus share group, and a Hospice grief counseling session at night for 6 weeks. The other days of the week won't be that busy thank goodness!
My niece and I are going to go see the puppy tomorrow. The lady told me that of the 5 puppies, he is the main one that is going to the potty pad to piddle! Woo hoo!! She said that should make it easier for me. I love to go to the mountains! Sounds like a wonderful trip. |
Hi all-good to hear from you.
Things are getting done -my hair is frosted and cut-that's important. You wouldn't believe waht I take to sleep-2 antidepressants and tylenol pm. But I do sleep well except for animals flying through the bedroom at Suzanne/s We lived in the camper in Fl for 4 months one year but soon got sick of it because it was too small. I like going back and forth in the summer-it all depends on finaces. Brad gets tired of working so much and renting the upstairs would bring us good money. If I go first, it's definitely an option for him because he wouldn't have my pension. One year at a time-we are not doing it next summer. My fear is that one of us gets sick and it would be hard to just have the camper but then we could always take the upstairs back. Enough about that. We are leaving on the 30th and going to Knoxville and down to Whisper Mountain which is 88 miles from there. we are giving ourselves 3 days. We will get there on the 2nd of October. Brad is happy because he will be doing electrical and duct work-don't know what I will be doing. In the meantime we are going to Boston on Sunday and I have 2 Bible groups Friday-for the last time in MA=just happened to fall on the same day. Tammy-good for you. Good schedule-physical , spiritual, and emotional needs taken care of-go Tammy!!!!! Byr for now-Mima |
Mima, sounds like you are very busy too!
I'm leaving soon to go to the bank and get some accounts changed to my name, I already did it at one bank and many other places. Don't know why I didn't do this one before. Then to see the puppy. Then a friend is picking me up about 5:30 and we are going out for dinner. I leave tomorrow for the weekend. Probably won't be back on until some time Mon. or Tues. Have a great weekend everyone!! |
We had a great time in the Smokies. It wasn't too hot and so beautiful.
My Aunt called me one morning while we were there and said my cousin and her husband were headed for Pigeon Forge that morning. She didn't know we were there already ... we had our calls from the house forwarded to our cell so she thought she was calling me at home. I called my cousin and we met for dinner. I hadn't seen her in over a year so that was nice. The house we rented was really nice and Ginger was great for her first time away from home. She slept between hubby and I for the first time and was a perfect little lady! ;) The first time we left her alone, we put a gate up at the 1/2 bath door downstairs and left her in there. When we came back she was gone ... nowhere to be found. Scared me to death. Then we heard a faint sound around the bathroom area when hubby called her. He had searched everywhere. He told me to call her again. I did and we could hear her whimpering (she doesn't bark hardly ever). We finally found her in the cabinet under the sink. She had somehow got the door open and got inside and couldn't figure out how to get back out. There were no handles on the door but there was a satchel strap hanging out a little so I guess she got to pulling on it and the door came open. It's funny now but it sure wasn't funny when we were looking all over for her. :p I went to the surgeon today and he said I had a lot of gallstones ... said the gallbladder needed to come out. I agreed so he set the date for next Wed. if nothing happens. They're supposed to call me on Tues. and confirm. No more wondering. |
That is too funny about Ginger. Wonderful about your trip.
have a nice weekend Tammy. I am going to Women's Bible study and Marriage bible study-they happen to fall on the same day and this will be the last time for both. Brad waited for someone to buy his tires last night-the guy never called and said he was not coming so Brad waited outside until after 11. So i watched McCain because i was nervous about who was coming. He said he's coming today but I won't hold my breath. Bye for now Mima |
Hey There
Tammy- have a good trip.
Mima- I have watched both of the conventions..I really was not impressed with the Democratic one. Too much of everything.. Although McCain is not the best speaker ,he is more believeable. I like Palin.. I don't think the women of America will let any man run over her. And neither will she.. Meme- I know you will be glad when the surgery is all over with.. I have been up in the Pigeon Forge area twice.Really Gatlenburg. It is so nice. We were there the week after Christmas with our daughter and her family. It was a few years ago.. The hubby didn't like going around and up the mountains..He likes the flat lands of Fl.He is not a person to travel with. Happy- Yes it is good that my G/son could buy a house now. His fathers family settled some money on him when he was born. It sat in the bank till he was 25 yrs old and then he could claim it..They did that with all their G/children.. Gave them a good start.. In this family ,children always came a close first as it does in our family.. Good that you don't have a problem with oil.. How much does gas cost up there? Hello Candice- You must be really busy in your new house. We haven't heard from you lately.. We now we are waitng to see if Ike is going to visit us. We could use the rain on this side of Fl. Have a good weekend everybody...Joanne |
I really liked what Palin had to say. McCain is a lot more down to earth than Obama ... I tell you what, that man scares me. Did you notice that McCain never did raise his hands above his head when he was waving at the people, and how stiff he carries himself? POW ... broken arms and legs that never did heal back right. I bet he is still in a lot of pain, too. Bet he knows what arthritis and Fibro feels like!
|
Hey There
I liked Palins don't mess with me attitude.. Yes I imagine McCain knows what pain is..I don't like Obama's way of ripping people up.. There is a lot to learn about him..My hubby believes a lot of voters may come out of the woodwork and put McCain over the top.. Nov. 4 is yet to tell the story..
Joanne |
We are going to vote absentee ballot. But they are not ready yet.
2 Bible groups-both nice. And 2 naps-more of that today. We are going to get a lot of rain today from hanna. Do not like Ike!! Don't know where it is going. A peson in the Bible group asked where Jim was-turns out her son is going there in Dec. McCain's story is so touching. And he's not bitter, Praying that your surgery goes well, Meme. Mima |
Hey There
Boy has this been a couple of awful days.. First , Brighthouse came to fix something on the Tv And, they disconnected my internet ,I feel sure by mistake.. Then I had to spend hours with tech support to get them to come out and fix it. Come to find out the first guy to set me up with high speed took short cuts and didn't do it right . Now I have spent hours trying to get my email addresses back. All that seems to be lost..I may never see some of those again.. My daughter says she can find them but she is 200 miles away. I will just wait for her to come down ,I guess..
That is some of my woes.. I hope I didn't bore you. I get stressed out too easy I guess.. Love ya all..Joanne |
that sure would drive me crazy, Joanne. We sure are fortunate that IKE went the other way but those poor people in the Gulf.
Cirque de Soleil was awesome and so was brunch at a French Restaurant-I had an omelette with goat cheese but I did my stomache in eating half a croissant and some of the dessert that was brought out with a candle on it. Chocolate mousse. Week is getting busy-lunch with teachers tomorrow-auntie on thursday and another friend on Friday. Sunday school and church picnic on Sunday and then head to work on Monday. for 3-4 days and then the wedding at the Cape on Friday. I better stick to the day. Trying to start a grab for Christmas-we added 4 to the family this year. Jim signed up so that would be fun to get things from Afghanistan. But then he is a jokester, Bye Mima |
Hey There
Mima- Sounds like you have a full schedule..Goat cheese is called "Feta"here. That is the greek word for it.. I use it in a lot of dishes. Not too often though. It has a lot of salt in it and I have a retention problem.our kids and g/children grew up eating it. When they come to visit I have to make sure to have it in the house. My sister and her kids love it so I take it to outings.
I wonder how Meme is doing.. Well this will be another busy day. Dentist appt.then grocery shopping. Did laundry yesterday so I have some ironing to do.. Hello Everybody...Joanne |
Just stopping in to say hello to everyone! I started classes at the Y last week, and I also started the grief counseling sessions at Hospice. Tonight was our 2nd meeting, and I cried almost the entire time.
I will try to get back on this weekend and spend more time reading and responding. Tonight I just feel totally wiped out. |
Hello.....we are finally moved:) :D :) Had to stay at the other house to get it all cleaned up....I am bushed and they are still working here. Got a new washer and dryer hooked up, they are nice front loaders, easy on the back and neck! No kitchen appliances yet still looking..too much to pick from. Got tot he eye doc..seems I might be having vision problems due to undiagnosed migranes. Wants me to see a nuerologist.....no time right now..too much to do. Not much unpacked since we are still doing work..no carpet yet and kitchen not done.
