  • Just stopping by to say bye-Wonderful weekend. Wonderful to be with people that your church denomination is not important.
Going to work. Hi tammy, Joanne, Candace, Anne, and Meme. And anyone who drops by-Mima
  • Mima, I hope you behave yourself while you are gone!

Joanne, good for you for getting out and walking each day. I need to do more of that.

Candice, with our other dog we waited until there were several "dumps" in the yard before we scooped it up. He went out on a leash, so we didn't have too far to look. I think with the new dog (Maurice is his name I think), I plan to let him out a different door to do his job.

I was on the phone so much yesterday calling credit card people to get Bob's name off the accounts, getting other things changed just to my name, etc. I cried after each phone call. Had to call the plumber who is one of Bob's friends, and I cried during the entire call. The handle on the sink in our bathroom is loose and there is water squirting everywhere.

I'm meeting a couple of friends for lunch today. I've talked to them but haven't seen them since we returned from Michigan. Then tonight my brother and sil are coming up to our house and we are going to have dinner at a restaurant here in town.

    Have a great day everyone!
  • Hi girls

I read the last couple of pages but I've missed a lot of posts. I've been keeping kids for the last 6 weeks. Then, 2 1/2 weeks ago I fell. I'm pretty sure I cracked a rib or two. I never did go to the Dr. They don't do anything when you crack a rib ... know from experience because I've cracked ribs before and they just told me to rest until they heal. This is in the same place I cracked them before so I could have just injured the same ones over again. They still hurt. Then last weekend I got a virus. Been laying around for the last 3 days. Stomach still doesn't feel right. I thought I had food poisoning at first ... Sun. morning at 4 am, but then I got body aches. So, that's my story.

Been talking some to Tammy. I sure have missed all of you but I haven't been on the computer much, just to get my mail now and then. We've also been in the middle of a big family thing that I can't really talk about. My kids were not talking to each other for over a month. Lawyers were involved. They are just now beginning to speak (in passing) and things are still not good. It's really a serious thing and it will never be 'alright' between the families again. It really breaks my heart. My stress level is sky high so you can imagine where my pain level is.

Sorry I've been out of touch so long. I hope everyone is doing ok. Good to see Candice is back on board!
Tammy, been praying for you sweetie. You know I love you!!!

As for mattresses, I've been sleeping on a waterbed for at least 35 years. Wouldn't trade it for anything. I've thought about getting one of those sleep comfort mattresses but changing scares me to death. I love the way the waterbed conforms to my body and I also love the warmth of it. I have an egg shell foam mattress on top and it's like laying down in a soft glove. I can't stand laying on something hard. Too many pressure points. Everybody's different I suppose.

I lost 6 pounds while I was sick with the virus ... now if I can just keep from gaining them back! Yesterday and today I haven't been hungry and food doesn't taste good to me. I didn't eat anything Sunday.

Going back to bed. About all I've done since Sun. But have to get out tomorrow. Promised hubby's aunt I'd take her to Verizon to get a new phone. Have a good Wednesday.
  • Hey There
Meme- Nice to see you back.. Hope you are feeling better.. My hubby fell and cracked some ribs a few years ago. I got a wide ace bandage and wrapped him real tight.. helped the pain a lot..At least he could breath without pain.. What's with adult kids? Mine were at war for almost 3 years. They are just now at a point that they can talk to each other.. I suspect that my sons wife is behind a lot of the problem..It will never be the same between the son and daughter.
Mima- I buy a new bathing suit about every 5 years.. that is how often I go to the beach.. We live a mile from the beach and I still don't go.. Maybe when my daughter comes for a few days we will go.
Tammy- When you get your dog. You can start walking it.. Take it a block at a time. Before you know it it will be several blocks. It will be real good for your nerves..
Candice- You must be about ready to move into your new home..No we don't have to scoop the poop.. My dog is small and where I walk she goes on the city property.. The next rain will take care of it..
Hey Happy-Hope you aren't working too much.. Some days I wish I had some of your cool weather..
    Joanne
  • God morning. mOnly worked 2 and a half days-she has so many people come in that the work gets done quickly. Some of us really want to make some money-however we have been doing good lately. Going back on Monday.
My sinuses are clogged. I will use the Netti Pot later. My room made me allergic and I swam in the pool a long time with the chlorine. Got a new suit at Penny's 70 % off and it's cute. I will leave it at home.
Meme-it was good to hear from you although it's sad to hear about your family. I bet you feel like you are in the middle but i hope you can keep back.
And your ribs!! Hope they heal quickly. Whenever you have an old injury, it seems to go there. I hurt my ribs in 2000 and there are so many things I can't do because of it.
Brad wants to go somewhere tomorrow but it can't be a lot of riding.
How are you doing, tammy. Glad to see you are staying in touch with people.
    Hi Joanne-Anne-Candace. Mima
  • Jim's group has a website-anotherwastedyear.org . It repalces makingthebestofit.org The name is supposed to be sarcastic and there is a pic of him-Jim Houlberg. Sounds like a great bunch and they blog everyday. Mima
  • Just a quick hi..been working hard and no sleep at the house, gotta pick a kirtchen faucet..I like the Kohler simplice I THINK..EASY TO PULL OUT AND FITS MY HAND. Can you put chrome with simi shiny( pull knobs on cabinets? are not real shiny but not brushed either. Is it ok to mix and match? Got bedroom blinds ordered too. Moving day is coming too soon...still[acking to do.

Hey..neighbor kids are climbing our fence to get tennis balls...we told them to use gait but they do not listen....town living..I guess.

Meme..good top see you.. we have had family desputs like that with lawyers too...mainly a sil caused it.....hope they work it out. Ouch on the ribs!

Mima...I won't put on a suit anymore..need a wet suit to cover my flab!

    Joanne..tiny poop huh?
Ate too many sweets the past few days..not a good thing

Tammy..we have a fence but he gets muddy so i keep him on a leash..kinda a pain! hope you got your sink fixed, we have no luck getting much done!

    Hi Happy
  • Hi guys. I am pretty anal about decorating but I would imagine it will look fine together. We are still shiny. Hope we get to see pics.
Went to gardner Fair days-just bought a little, a small purse that goes with my pocketbook and 2 cosmetic bags. Fun to look around.
Gotta make Brad a pie. We haven't shopped in over 2 weeks. I am going away again on Mon.
    tammy-how are you?
I hope you feel better Meme.
Joanne-bet that heat is boring. It's not in the 90's here but it rains so much. I can't imagine I will be leaving in 2 months.
    Hi Anne. Mima
  • Meme, I hope your family will get things settled. Life is too short.

Joanne, I just got a new bathing suit that is supposed to be more chlorine resistant. Hopefully it will do better than some of the other ones have been through the water aerobics classes. I am looking forward to walking the new dog when it gets here. Kramer and I used to take walks, and it was always so relaxing until my back would start hurting.

Mima, you sure didn't work very long! I'll have to check out Jim's website sometime.

Candice, I think you can mix and match with textures and colors. The plumber still hasn't been here. He was going to be out of town for a few days, and he thought he'd be back and get here this morning. I'll call him on Monday to see if he forgot me.

I have been ok. We went to the lawyer's office yesterday, so the rest of the day I ached so bad. Stress I'm sure. I just sit and stare sometimes. Next week I'll have my classes 3 days, then I am supposed to meet people for lunch on 3 days, volunteer at the soup kitchen on 1 day. It's almost too busy. Tim and I will also go back over to his apartment one afternoon. We were there yesterday after the lawyer's office. He and his gf cleaned. I sat and read, and I ran some errands. I did convince him to get a window air conditioner. He is lucky because his apartment has trees around it for some shade, but it was pretty toasty in there. We went to Menards and bought one for under $200.

Bob's niece called me the other night, talked for a while, then she got to the real reason for her call. She wanted to borrow about $2000. I couldn't believe it. Bob had "loaned" her money different times, but she never paid him back. I am not going to continue with any "loans". I told her that I had called the funeral home to tell them that I don't even know when I can pay them! There are also medical bills coming, and Tim's tuition is due in a few weeks. I just keep shaking my head.
  • Tammy-good for you saying no-that's enabling to keep loaning money-that person never gets the chance to figure out why they always need money.
Don't be surprised if you are more tired than usual-grief takes a lot of energy.
Next week there is a dedication of baby Rebekah at Brett and Angea's church. There has been such healing in that relationship and only God could do it. Keep praying Meme. Angela and I haven't changed but I think our attitudes have.
I sure didn't work much-am scheduled for 5 days but it won't be that. I will not volunteer to give up my extra day this time. We actually got a raise and now they give us 58.5 cents a mile for gas.
Sunday school and church. Bye for now-Mima
  • Mima, I'm glad you said that about being tired. I remember when my parents passed away that I was tired, but I had forgotten about that until I read your note. I slept for 3 hours this afternoon. Tim just let me sleep. He thought that I needed it. I feel like I could go to bed now, but it's just a bit after 8:00.

Good for you for getting the raise and the money for gas mileage!
  • And forgive yourself for making mistakes. Enjoy your busy week. Off to work again-there's one part of the drive that I don't like so I brought some cd,s. Southern gospel.
Went out to eat after church with Brad's sister and aunt. After we were done, Brad picked up all the leftovers-none were ours-and took them with us. We didn't realize this until we were almost home. Everyone had a good laugh and I put them in the freezer so I can give it to them next week.
    Bye for now-Mima
  • Good morning everybody.

Mima - have fun at work. Hope they don't cut your hours again. Funny about Brad and the left overs. We really are creatures of habit!

Tammy - glad you are doing ok. I am sure it is tough, but keeping yourself a bit busy is a good idea. Enjoy your lunches out this week. The exercise will also be good for you. The last thing you want to do, is get into a depression. I don't know if you take Omega 3 oil or not, but it really does help with depression and arthritis. I guess it lubricates the joints or something.

Candice - I would mix them. Firstly, they are not side by side, and secondly, they are of the same "family" of color. They will be fine. I love decorating. Just wish I had tons of money to it with However, I don't like clutter around me, so no crafty things will you find here! I hope you get done and moved before winter comes along.

Meme - hope your kids have mended their fences. Hate when adult children act that way. My brothers are like that. They will get along fine for awhile, then one of them will do something that the other one doesn't like, and away we go!!! I hope your ribs are feeling somewhat better. Takes awhile for them to heal. I hope you bought yourself a rib band. At least it holds them tight, so you can breath better.

Joanne - I am LOVING our weather. It has been around 70-75 degrees and it is so very comfortable. This week it is heading up into the high 80's so I can start to complain. I am LOVING this airconditioning. It runs off the thermostat, so we set it at 20 (72F) and it justs keeps it at that temp. It sure helps at night when you are trying to sleep.

I am sorry to be MIA for so long. I worked lots last week, and two full days back to back. That always does me in. I just don't want to sit at the computer, as I have a sore, tired back, sore muscles from FM and just plain tired. I am off this week, as Ashley is coming to stay with me.

This past weekend was a long weekend for us (Civic holiday). My son and his family came on Sunday, on their return from their holiday to the west coast. The spent the night, and left yesterday. Our baby Meela is growing - she is already over 2 and a bundle of energy. She sure plays well by herself. She can spend quite a long time amusing herself. Her concentration level puts her brother (James) to shame. I wish he would get some of it! It would make his life a LOT easier.

Hope you all have a good day.
  • I's good to rest Tammy and too keep busy, that is for all I think no matter what life throws at us. What kind of plumbing problem? WE need a plumber too..Ours quit.........

Counter people did not show up this week so I am going home to pack for now. The shed is done and I need to clean it before I leave but no energy today and not much sleep and too hot for me. Will eat and get trash put out and see what I feel like. Everyone thinks this should be so easy, it is not for me, I am getting stressed out dealing with all this ...incompitent and messy workers!!!!!!! Everything in this house is miss matched and looks ok, I just didn't know what new color to get, the chrome or the brushed nickle. I kinda like the chrome, but they say the new color is more updated??? and the counter will be a matte finish too.

We were told we did not match the master carpet right to the walls by the window treatment people.........oh welll.....ordered blinds anyway with no strings! Blackout for the bedrooms too........the whole house needs new ones but we are only doing a few now.

Gotta go, too tired so hi to all
  • Anne, I have some of those omega 3 tablets, and I keep forgetting to take them. Enjoy your time with Ashley this week.

Candice, the cold water handle on my bathroom sink was spraying water when we turned it on. No small leak to warn me that it was going to happen. The plumber is one of Bob's friends. Sounds like you are like me. I get stressed out over the same type of things. We both need some rest!!
