  • Good morning. Glad to hear that you guys are having nice warm weather. We are having a blizzard! It started snowing on Friday morning, and does so intermittently throughout the day, since then. Today, the wind is howling and blowing all that snow every which way. Glad I can stay snuggled up at home. Apparently, not much warm weather in the days ahead - up tothe end of the month. This darn weather has brought on an FM flare. Between FM and OA, I am hurting in every inch of my body. I just need to wait for this weather system to pass, and then the pain will settle down.

Mima - not much longer until the wedding. There are always a few last minute things to do. I remember my hubby's dad, putting oil into the furnace in Denmark. Had NEVER seen that before, as we all have natural gas here, so we never run out - UNLESS you don't pay your bills, which isn't a good thing in the dead of winter

Tammy - my son and I were close as well. Still are. He talks to me about almost everything. If something is bothering him, it's Mom her wants!

Joanne - Greek Easter is this coming weekend, then? Preparations for any holiday are always lots of work. That poor dog and poor you. Over one thing and on to another. I hope the fleas don't do to much damage to him.

Well, I am off to lay on the heating pad, and read my book. Sound like a nice lazy day? Well, it is!
  • Joanne, hope you don't have much trouble with the fleas. We had that problem once with Kramer when we first got him, but never had a problem after that.

Mima, I remember driving Bob and his brother around in a golf cart. I had so much fun!! lol

Anne, a blizzard!!!!!!! Oh my!!! I sure hope we are finished with the snow for the year. Your heating pad and book sound great, but I'm sorry that you're in pain. Feel better soon!!

My classes are going well. I'm still modifying the morning class to fit me. I'm still getting a good workout though. I can tell a difference in my clothes even though it isn't showing up on the scales.
  • Snow!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's so gorgeous here-still watching the 26th. Birthday at noon-gotta get a balloon, cake and candles at 11-chiro after to fix me up for a few days.
    Mike's leaving at 11..
Have a good Easter-Joanne-bet the food is deliscious.
Nice going on the exercises. I should join the health club at the hotel so I could swim.
    Bye for now-Mima
  • We had another beautiful day here. I like this!!
Hope you were able to get everything ready for the birthday! Mine is coming up, so you can get me the stuff too!! lol
  • Well-Happy Birthday ahead of time-what's your date?
We were all at the restaurant at noon but I was in the booth and they were sitting in another room looking for me. I finally got up to walk around and look and found them.
Company gone -didn't realize how tired I got. And now I am wheezy-I ate a tiny piece of cake-back to the inhalers.
I am going to skin doc for a checkup-i would have cancelled but hard to get an appt.
2 people are going to cancel because their son is ill-I know it's normal but I hope there aren't too many. Things happen.
Won't you be glad when I can talk about something else. i probably will go into a funk after this.
    Mima
  • My b-day is May 8. Tim and I will be at Disney that week, so maybe I can celebrate with Mickey!!
LOL We've enjoyed hearing all of the wedding plans! Can't wait to see a picture.

I won't be on here till Sun. night or Mon. since the Emmaus Walk starts tonight. You guys behave yourselves! I'll try too!!
  • Joanne ... if you shot yourself in the foot, I must've shot myself in the head!!! Daughter gave me an hour massage yesterday so I took her to lunch. We went to Cheddars and I got the pot pie. Had a salad first, off to a good start because I love the croissants but I cut mine in half and shared it with her then only ate about 2/3 of the pot pie. But ... Then she wanted a piece of choc. fudge cake. If you've ever eaten at cheddars you know their choc. fudge cake is huge (and has ice cream). We split a piece but it was still way more than I should have had. Then last night was our best friend's Ann. so I got a 1/2 sheet cake for them and we took it to Cracker Barrel after church where 40 of our friends met to 'surprise' them with it and I also had a piece of that. I only had a 1/2 salad though. Still gained weight this morning. Then this morning, I had a late breakfast with 2 friends at IHOP and got an omelette. It was huge and they also brought me a triple stack of buttermilk pancakes ... which I couldn't resist. I ate 1/2 the omelette and 1/2 the pancakes. We just kept sitting there talking and talking and talking. I kept picking and picking until I looked down and 1/2 the food was gone. I finally picked up the pancake plate a smooshed it down into the omelette and picked up the hotsauce and poured it all over th pancakes. They looked at me and said 'what did you do that for'. I said 'because I'm not eating any more of that stuff'. Then I got groceries and my daughter brought me her kids for the afternoon because school was out. I brought them home and Jenna wanted to make brownies. OH BOY. Well ... I had to have one. Oh, woe is me. Tomorrow night ... hubby and some other men (friends) are going to a conference. So ... it's girls night out for the wives. We are going to Logan's Steak House and then over to my friends house to play games. (And probably EAT some more.) Never ends. I have got to do something. Anybody got a muzzle?

TAMMY ... Happy BD next week in case I don't get back or I forget to tell you, since you'll be gone. Hope you have a good one and a good trip. I know you'll enjoy yourself. That's great about your Emmaus Walk and your weight loss. Keep up the walking and exercise. I'm going to try to do some more of that myself since I'm feeling a little better. It's getting warmer here. I'm really liking that. I've had my hands full lately but hoping that thing will start slowing down for me.

Sounds like everybody is busy, as usual. I guess that's a good thing. Shows we're not ready to give up, lay down and die! Anne ... have you thawed out yet? It was so warm here today, I was outside with a customer and I was actually hot! We have the airconditioner on. Joanne, hope the meds work for Christie. That sounds like a lot of work. So does that wedding. Mima, you've been working on that for months! Joanne, did you find a Strawberry Pie Recipe? Here's an easy one you might like.

  • Thanks for the good laugh Meme. we/ve all been there. And tammy-have a nice time-you will. Al's bd is may 9. My stepson Brett is today.
Suzanne is the one who has done all the work-I've only done small things. But I have everything on my little brain. But it's awesome . I believe that you should really get involved in things-be really present to the moment. And I have been waiting for this moment. I waited for a daughter for 16 years-wouldn't trade my sons for anything. Then God gave me the desires of my heart,
Nails at 8:15. Went to skin doc for check-up and asked to have a wart removed-probably have had it for 40 years but I never had a skin doc before. So her PA is treating it,
It's going to be cooler tomorrow. But not rainy. We have rehearsal at 4 and then out to eat-men are going to Foxwoods for a bachelor party, We are staying at a Band B and the lady is so nice, We have one room and Suzanne has the other for her party to get dressed, And for pictures. i need tissues.
Bye for now-hope it warms up Anne-hi Joanne. Mima
  • Hey There
Meme- If I ate all that ,I would gain 5-10 lbs.. I have to do something. I was up a lb at Tops yesterday.. More exercise is one of the things. At 75 I am getting lazy ,I guess. This weekend is Greek Easter. I am doing most of the cooking. Eleni is bringing the salad.. I couldn't seem to get in touch with my D/i/law so who knows there. They are real busy..A return call would have been nice.I know I will eat too much again..I will try to stay away from the carbs.I found a recipe for pineapple pie on the net.. My hubby loves it.. I don't eat it.. I like fresh pineapple though.Other than lemon pie I usually buy.
Mima- Good luck with the wedding. I know it will be nice..It was in the late 80's here yesterday. 88% It is going to be a hot summer.I have never been to a skin doctor either..I should go so my daughter tells me.
Tammy- Hope you had fun at your walk.In case the date slips by me Happy Birthday..
Christy still has a little rash (yeast). I will give her another bath on sat..I am really tired of this..It takes both of us to give her the bath.. She has settled down some but still doesn't like it..
Hello Happy..We really have not had cold weather down here. The bugs are going to be out in full force. The grasshoppers are hatching. The hubby just can't kill them all. They eat just about everything including the paint on the walls of the house. When they mature the only thing that does the job is a big foot..
    Have a good weekend everybody.
    Joanne
  • So far so good. I've had a Boost, 2 pieces of raisin toast with a little peanut butter and just made myself a cup of green tea and it's 2:30. I think that's all I'm going to have until 6 when we go to Logan's. I've about decided to get one of their chicken salads with dressing on the side (if I go ... I've been running a slight temp and have a headache but it may just be the fibro/arthritis stuff, it causes me to run a temp and feel bad ... it's supposed to rain all weekend + I've been getting headaches from the glaucoma again, who knows). I really need to take off 10 - 15 pounds because of my knees and ankles. I wear a 12 right now and look fine but I'm not feeling fine having to carry around the extra weight. Everyone scolds me if I say I need to lose weight but they're not looking at it like I am.

Well, gotta go do some more wash, it's never done, then have to get to the bank before it closes on me. Have a good weekend, ladies, if I don't get back in here. AND WISH ME LUCK ON KEEPING MY MOUTH SHUT THIS WEEKEND OF NEVER CEASING TO EAT OUT!!! (Sunday is Grandson # 1's 13th BD so ....... yet another celebration!) OH JOY!
  • Hey There
Greek Easter is over and I am tired..I did pretty good with my eating. I wear a size 12 too. I sure want to get back to a 10..It isn't going to happen if I keep eating icecream and pie..but I made them so I felt I was due.. Now I won't touch any more..Lots of cooking for the past couple days. I sent home food with Eleni and our son and his wife..At least I won't have to cook for a few days.
Hot down here. We are hopeing for rain tomorrow.. HOPEING! (Spelling)Too tired to make sure..
A lot going on outside.Firecrackers going off since midnight and people having parties.A lot of Greek people in this town..Christie having a fit all day.I can't wait for bedtime..
    Joanne
  • Lot's of celebrating over the weekend. Lot's of eating. I managed with a taco salad at lunch then went to friend's house and had cheesecake. Tonight went to friend's house and had taco bake among other things and a choc. chip cookie. Not a whole lot but more than I had planned on eating. (Mexican all day) My best friend and I are going to try the 'egg' protein diet tomorrow. I lost 12 pounds for a wedding doing that... hopefully it will work again. Gotta go to bed now ... I'm exhausted. Haven't stopped all day and it has been a very long day, 19 hrs. on less than 5 hrs. sleep! Happy Monday ... I'm hoping it will still be raining in the morning so I can sleep late.
  • Good morning and back to reality. Quite a busy weekend. The wedding ceremony was lovely. Suzanne was gorgeous. And with everyone in uniform-it was nice. The flower girl tols her Mom she wasn't going down the aisle-Evan just looked at her. He was so happy to be dressed in his outfit and was so serios walking. She finally joined him. The aisle in that old church were so narrow-my boys had to walk ahead of Suzanne -they met up front and Mike strated to trip when he kissed Suzanne. I had to get some flats to walk up the steps to kight a candle but changed into my heels/
We stayed for pics=Jessica and Kevin came in after the ceremony but at least they made it.
Going alomg with nothing is perfect , the biggest glitch was that it took so much time for everything once we got to the reception. And feeling responsible for the guests put a cloud over some things. The dj has a philosophy about making things personable so it was time consuming. But here are some highlights-
The bride wore a plastic bag and goggles because she though Jim was going to get her with the cake-he didn't and it was nice
Evan started dancing with the Hokey Pokey and never stopped -too funny. He was in the middle of everything. And people were so accomodating of him.
Sue and Jim had practiced their first dance so it was cute-Jim's dance with his daughter was touching.
The garter thing was funny-under Sue's chair was a whole bunch of stuff that Jim pulled out-including a lamp, umbrella, and rubber chicken . Finally the garter. They didn't do anything with that.
A very touchimg thing was when Jim's Mom and I sat in chairs and Jim read a letter to me about Suzanne and She read one to Jim's mom and we were presented with gorgeous bouquets.
It was so wonderful to be with my family and Bobby with his gf-we love her. She is such a great addition to us. Hope it works out.
Well now it's recovery time. They are going to Niagara Falls for the weekend-not sure when his orders will come.
And Jim has a brother who is a Christian -sure would like to know him better.
My body is sore, my stomache hurts, and the weather is back to very cool. But it was a nice wekend-I am sure in time we will laugh about some of the things that happened.
I feel fat-gotta get back on a diet, Teeth cleaning today. Mima
  • Meme, I had a mini-massage on my lower back at the Emmaus Walk over the weekend. One of the women who was there saw that I was hurting, and it felt soooooooooooooo good! I have to admit that I was getting hungry reading all of the foods that you mentioned!!!! It has been pretty nice here too. We did get rain today and it was cooler. Tomorrow morning we are supposed to be back in the 30's! What is the egg protein diet????

Joanne, I wish I would have been there for some Greek food! I wear a size 10 too! (my shoes!!)

Mima, I'm glad the wedding was nice. Those uniforms always add a special touch, don't they? How cool about the bouquets!!!

My Emmaus weekend was awesome as usual. One of the women at my table was a real challenge for my assistant and me, but the other 2 with us were wonderful.
